1st annual Burger and Brew Festival was amazing! I have to admit that for a first time they really had it organized and TONS of food venders. Today May 23rd2015 from 11AM.-6P.M. was the only day they were having this. I sure wish it was a two day event. I came with another Unilocal friend and it took me a while to find the location because it didn’t have an exact location on the Unilocal review but after looking at the website I was able to find exactly where it was. It was located on Liberty Street– Walnut to Capitol, downtown Fremont area. I was able to find parking in the plaza nearby and that wasn’t a problem at all. Since it was the first event it was PACKED and I came arrived at noon. I liked that they had a little area for the children to play and activities to do. On the other side they had a lovely band that playing great music. BEER: I’m not really into beer but that had tons of beer venders that came out to support the event such as: Knotty Red, Trumer Pils, Nooner, Shiner, IPA, Budlight, India Pale and much much more! FOOD: Tonsss of food Trucks. I was thinking they were going to have everything JUST burgers but I was totally wrong. They had ALL type of venders there: *Canasta-They were selling Street Tacos, Latin Wraps, Taquitos, Flautas and Empanadas *Hongry Kong-Selling Snacks, Tarts, Burgers and drinks *The Counter– Of course they had their fancy burgers. *Yummi BBQ-Lemongrass Beer Slider, Beef Short Ribs and tacos. *Pelican Poboys-Selling burgers *Whipout Catering– Selling their favorite burgers and BBQ fries. *Whole Foods Market– I was totally surprised to see them here I didn’t even know that whole foods sold food all like that! Say what? They was getting down on the grill. Everything was smelling so good and had my mouth watering but those lines was not the business. Ughh. I had to be early to get in that line. They had an information booth in the middle of the event that had a list of all the food venders and beer venders that was there. They also had a flyer that gave you more information on how it worked if you were interested in buying beer. This is how it worked: –Purchase the beer ticket for $ 30(Not debit or credit card/CASH ONLY) –Get wristband and your able to sample 12 samplings of beer from 12 different breweries. –Food was purchased separately The festival also had different taxi services available in case people were not able to handle their liquor. Different taxis available were: Orange Cab, Delta Taxi, Universal Cab and national Taxi Cab. Overall, this was a well-planned out event! They had police there to make sure the event didn’t get out of hand and people were on their best behavior. I am excited to see what great things they will do next year! Till next time we meet Burger and Brew Festival!
