Don’s Barber Shop

Have had nothing but great haircuts from these guys! Don Juan is the shiznit! Ive been to a lot of barbers around the bay and his shop competes with the rest. Its got a good local vibe, with Don Juan on the remote keeping it family friendly or switching it up to some sports or playing some good vibrations. Great place to get a fresh cut.

Been to about 4 different barbershops in Fremont and Don’s has to be the best. They have a very welcoming environment for all ages. I’d recommend any barber in the shop but my go to barber is Rob. This guy always has me looking (at least I think I do) and feeling good after a cut. He has a large variety of skills. I’ve seen him work on multiple types of hair and cut a lot of different styles. I’ve never seen anyone leave this shop disappointed. The picture doesn’t lie!

So the big black dude, Robert, cut my hair. My asian hair. He gave me one of the best fades and combovers. Cleaned up my lines and all too. You know when you get a fade and the barber misses a bunch of hairs, and they stick out at different lengths? Didn’t happen here. Strangely.
Why do I say «strangely»?
Because…
He did it while he was high as f*ck. Very high. How do I know? I know.
That’s why they can’t keep appointments. That’s the reason why they open at 8am on Saturday, but had a sign that said «be back @ 9am», which is another way of saying, «We’re behind the shop, smoking out with our customer. Don’t be alarmed when the shop smells like we passed four blunts amongst the three of us.»

I have been here twice. The first time, I waited over 2 hours. I did do a walk in but only one barber was working. I got a mediocre, at best, beard cut. I asked for a medium stubble with razor line up. The left side was lined up properly but the right side had a strange horse shoe shape curve. Juan also did not bother to trim the middle part.
The second time, I made an appointment to save time. Juan showed up 45 minutes late and gave me a very ‘never back down, never doubt yourself’ attitude. I was just there to make my beard look good. Not there to fight my barber for alpha male status.

Really?! Made an appt with Juan for 12:30 and no showed. Unfortunately everyone else was busy.

No respect for appointments at all its been two weeks already im trying to cut my hair .made an appointment when iget there i was told Juan already left. why letting me take appointment then. never ever gonna cut my hair there anymore because they dont appreciate ur business.

If you are going to get a cut here, go ask for Tyler, he seems to be the only one who is dependable and cuts very well. All praise to him. My quam is the flakiness and lack of follow through with the owner Don.
1. I made the mistake of not getting my hair cut by Tyler but by one of his new barbers that no longer works there. My hair was terrrriiibbbllleee. I had called back in and Don had let me know to come in the coming Monday to have my hair fixed by him personally. I showed up at the time he asked me to come and he was no where to be found. He left and totally forgot about my arrangements. Thankfully, Tyler came through and fixed my hair. Like I said, go to Tyler.
2. Today, i call in in the morning to book a reservation for 6:15 before they close at 7:00 PM. I called Tyler but he only works Tuesday — Saturday. I couldn’t wait for my cut so I made an appointment with Don at 6:15. I get there at 6:15, the door is locked and he is cutting hair. I knock on the door to let him know I am outside and he fails to acknowledge me. I continue to knock and call the business line. He just ignores me. Talk about character… If you don’t have availability or time to cut my hair, I don’t understand why he would confirm an appointment with me. I pay $ 24 bucks every time and the cuts are less than $ 20 bucks so not sure why he was avoiding me…
*If you want a quick cheap cut, go see Tyler. This goes out to all the Tesla employees out there that cut their hair there.*

Driving around for a new barber, Miguelina gave me a nice high 0-​Fade! I saw 2 other barbers there, I’m sure Don was there but I didn’t stay too long. Under $ 20 and no appointment needed. Next time I will make an appointment so I don’t have to worry about waiting.

My son comes every 2 – 3 weeks. Now my husband does too. Juan has an amazing patience for kids with special needs. Hours are great. Very nice, professional. Everyone in the shop knows how to fade.

Took my son to get a haircut and as soon as he saw himself in the mirror, he had a fat smile on his face. I found our spot and we will be back. The lady there did a great job, showed her a pic of what I wanted for him and done.!!

My experience at dons barbershop was the best I have had since living in the Bay Area! I would def recommend Tyler aka Tk and the rest of the staff is very professional. Check them out for a fresh cut!!!

Solid place to get a fresh cut. Last time I went, I got a combover fade from Drew and he’s a great barber and good conversationalist. Although the place does smell awfully dank sometimes, it has a nice friendly vibe and the people are usually pretty chill.

The other reviews are right — Don is the man! I was looking for a super clean line up for under $ 20. I got the tightest fade, a shave, and some great conversation for $ 10 (plus tip).
Not to mention the place is clean, there’s plenty of parking, and a short wait. This is a real barbershop. So if that’s what you’re looking for, look no further.

Juan is one heck of a professional! Believes in providing superb service and he exceeded my expectations!

I am so glad I found Don’s Barber Shop. Best place I’ve ever been to. Their professionalism is through the roof. I will be coming back monthly.

This is a great place. I haven’t been here in two years but I need a good cut! Finally! Cool people and great cuts! Family like atmosphere which is great! I don’t have a beard but judging from what I saw, they do, really clean jobs on that as well. The place is a little small but this place is worth it.

In regards to the haircut and skill of its barbers, this place is superb. I have no complaint about my haircut. It was ¹⁰⁄₁₀.
However, the atmosphere and location of this place is TERRIBLE! On top of being TINY, the place is right next door to a bar with cussing patrons.
And the barbers crack misogynistic jokes about women which may make females present feel uncomfortable.
Worst of all, we saw a BAG OF WEED that some customer was showing one of the barbers, discussion a deal I speculate.
Not a very good atmosphere.
Juan however is very nice, and each of the barbers are skilled – even if they’re stoners.

So, if you need a barber who closes early, does not respect appoinments and gives excuses, this is the place for you.
My brother had an appointment for 6.30, the shop closes at 7, and we reached at 6.20pm. We were told that all the barbers had left already. That is the treatment we got despite having an appointment.
And the fact is that they would have had a regular customer for life. Well, not anymore.
