I went to this place over the weekend, and was truly disappointed. They barely had any beers for me to sample and when I asked for one, they said well we do have it and keg is downstairs and its going to take me about 10 – 15 minutes to set it up. In other words, they were being lazy and didn’t want to do it. Another thing that bothered me is there pricing for flights. I got 4 five ounce samples and it costs me $ 16. That is expensive! I have been to many breweries where I would get 5 or 6 samples for $ 8 or $ 9. They need to revisit their pricing. Definitely would not recommend this place.

Great beers on tap. The problem is that space is small and seating is limited. The female bartenders seem inexperienced with beer knowledge and they make too much noise when they throw the beer glasses in trays to be washed. I will be going back to Jacks and BJ’s. Bummer.

The have a great craft beer selection. We were there on a Friday night. It was busy, but not too bad. They ran out of clean glasses at one point, so we had to wait on our second round. The place was crazy loud. I’m not sure if it’s the acoustics or the alcohol!

Let me try all the samples! I have a love and hate relationship with this place and here goes. Love the beer selection and love that its a part of the new changing look of Fremont(as we need some cool hipster places out here). Where I don’t love them is not having food but I can live with that as they have snacks, but then I can’t live with that the snacks selections is pretty mediocre. With that being said, them being open late is amazing and its a great middle spot to meet for friends from SJ or Milpitas. Overall get some beer and have a great conversation!

Great place to hang out! They expanded the site down space as well — now there are several tables where you can sit with your friends(as well as free wifi). When I came here last time(over a year ago), the sit down space was rather small since they had tons of shelves and racks carrying 6 packs.

I really enjoyed this place and Ashlee was extremely kinda and helpful. I tried a sampler of a four beers and every taste was excellent. I ended up drinking a Gose(wish I could remember the name). Next time i’m in the area I will definately be back for more.

First off… the only reason that I can’t give this place the 5th star is strictly because they don’t have an in-house kitchen/food options. With that said, they are great about bringing in food trucks AND allow outside food. The latter option is the only thing that has allowed me to have best of the best sushi and beer in one place(with the exception of at home, of course). So keep that in mind before you visit as when you’re there, the in-shop options are chips and pretzels. Now on to the beer. I’ve never been disappointed with the variety that they have on tap(16 rotating taps). There’s always something new that I’ve never had or heard of before(like Hangar 24 Pugachev’s Cobra) and are amazing. Also, as a huge fan of darker, heavier beers, this place is great at keeping a variety on tap and not falling into just serving what’s seasonal. I recommend to just get a flight and taste the rainbow. Chances are there are plenty of beers that you won’t see on tap or in bottle in many other places. Staff is great and they are always very knowledgeable on the beers and happy to help with any questions. Only other drawbacks…1) the lot next to the building is no longer available for CCB patrons to park in, so you’ll need to park on the street, and 2) they’ve cut down on the store section quite a bit. I’m sure they had some items that weren’t moving very quickly at all, but in the past there’d just be one line for each beer and tons of choices, but I think it’s been cut back to just the quicker moving items.

I have so many good things to say about this place. My friend took me here after dinner to relax and chill, and I was marveling at their enormous selection of beers they have on tap! In addition to having draught beer, they also have a few large fridges in the back and you can choose from a wide variety of bottled beers! It’s so cool! They really do not carry anything boring, which is nice because then you can try new things! They also do beer flights here, FYI, in case you’re in need of a cool picture for your Instagram lol! The staff here is also super friendly and outgoing, and this place makes a great hang out spot for friends to chat over beer! They’re also open late. Love it! I’ll be coming here more often!

I’ve pretty much lived in Fremont my whole life with a few years out of the area. I’ve always known about CCB, however, didn’t finally visit until about a month ago. On my first visit, I came with the family to eat Mogo’s. We ate inside and a few of us got beers, but I didn’t. It was nice to check out the place though, since I’ve heard so much about it and it’s in my hometown. This past weekend a few friends and I wanted to meet up to grab a drink and we wanted to do so in Fremont. We met up at CCB. I definitely wanted to try something from draft(I don’t drink much beer anymore) so I told the gal at the counter that I loved Ciders mixed with beer. She poured me a delicious glass(didn’t pay attention to what the selections were) of ¾ Cider and ¼ Sour Beer. I had never even heard of Sour Beer or knew it existed. My drink was awesome and I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for these types of beverages in the future. This is a great place to hang out. It’s spacious so it’s not hard finding a table to sit at and this makes it a comfortable space vs. crowded bar. I also found out that you can have food delivered to you at CCB and eat there — that’s awesome! There’s actually a sign on the door that states«Outside Food is Allowed» — I thought this was funny since usually establishments have signs that say the opposite.

Laidback vibe with a good selection of beer on tap as well as bottles. The service is great, and the workers are knowledgeable. For being located in a small city, this place was bigger than I thought and proved to have a decent amount of seats for its customers. Their menu is also constantly changing, so what you find one week might not be there the next. They have seasonal beers that rotate through and limited quantities of other beers that might come around. Grab the ones you want while you can! Overall, a great space nestled in Fremont. Grab a flight of beer and enjoy a good time with friends! Cheers!

The beer selection is great and today they had a food truck outside. They have a wide selection on tap as well as a wall lined with fridges containing additional bottles. Pros: Large beer variety and there’s ample seating. Parking is easy to find and sometimes there’s a food truck outside. Caters to local students and residents. Cons: $ 3 «corking» fee for drinking one of the bottles in the store. Beers can be a little pricey. No real food other than chips if the food truck isn’t present. Comments: overall, my experience wasn’t terrible but a $ 3 «corking» fee on a $ 9-$ 17 dollar beer is a little steep. The practice in general is actually kind of weird considering it would actually benefit them to incentivize customers to consume the beverages on the premises to increase the likelihood of additional bottles being purchased.

I don’t really drink beer so I suppose this was a good place to start. The staff was patient and took time explaining the different types they serve. She even checked up on me an hour later to see how I liked her recommendations. She offered me another beer without asking when I told her I wasn’t too fond of a certain one. It was sort of a game for her when I told her I liked certain ones and others were too strong haha. I don’t think there are complementary snacks since I saw other people bring food in. I came on a Tuesday night so it wasn’t really crowded. But I would expect a huge crowd on Friday nights and weekends.

I’m surprised after all of these years I’ve never reviewed this place because it’s really awesome! What else do you need when you can come here to try all of the different craft beers from around California. The place is located near Ohlone College and is pretty small and has a rustic homey feel to it. They usually have 16 beers on tap as well as a bunch of refrigerators and shelves of bottled beers which you can purchase. Every time I go here, I usually get a flight or two to really get a taste of everything before I fully commit. I mean 4 tastings for about $ 7.50 is pretty worth it for me. If you come as a group of 4, I’d highly suggest getting 4 flights and trying them all haha! Overall, nice small place, with great service, and amazing beers. Plus their menu is constantly changing so you can come back next week and always try something new. I will be back for more. You can count on it!

Small quaint place that serves beer from microbreweries. A good place to try a new brew. The place is clean and happening for sure. But the servers get to you quickly and friendly. You can mix and make your own flights so go for that. Love the friendly vibe, this place manages to give you the hipster micro brews without the hipster pretension. A good balance. Too bad there isn’t food, aside from the food truck out front, which unfortunately left too early. Primo spot to get business from buzzed beer drinkers… but it might have been the rain.

Only place to get a craft beer in the Mission district of Fremont. Good diverse crowd, interesting beer list and taco truck in front on Thursday and Friday nights. Bartenders there are nice but understandably cater to regulars. I have been here a couple of times and I will always go back if I am in the area.

I’m no beer expert but my BF and I always try to find beer spots that will do flights because we’ve been trying to find a favorite beer and I have to say I may have found my favorite kind of beer here. I don’t remember all that I got but one which was the breakfast stout. Oh em geeee I fell in love it’s basically like having dark coffee! Ever since, I’ve been trying any stout beer I could get my hands on. There are plenty of tables Sweet/friendly bartenders Parking? Eh good luck tv for sports? Of course Bottled refrigerated beer sold there, and tap(duh) Good for groups? Yes! I don’t know how busy it gets since the time I came there was only one other person there, but it’s worth the trip!

Love the concept and love this place. The beer pricing is quite reasonable for the selections of beers that they have. The only downside is that if you buy their bottled beers, they charge a corkage fee of $ 2 – 3. As an adventurous beer snob, in general, most of their beers you can find at more specialty beer stores, some at bevmo. There are a few beers that are not easy to find and its great that you can get them here. This place gets crowded and it might be hard to find a seat. There was ample parking in the area.

I don’t remember the exact name but I got a cider and it was sweet, light, and still tasted like a beer! Just the way I liked it! They have other excellent craft beers, I tasted my friend’s coffee beer and that was pretty good too. I love the wide array of beers they have on tap, all very special! Also, you can ask for free pretzels. Great place to chill out and grab a drink with a few friends!

Great little spot in the mission area. Has a great atmosphere any night of the week. This is a common place for people to meet and grab a beer after work. They have a great selection of beers on tap or from the bottle. I recommend it for anyone to come by and check it out!

Fremont is currently on a high, with rising and budding locations popping up everywhere from fine foods to fine libations — California Craft Beers(CCB in this review for short) is one of those locations. Pretty chill atmosphere. CCB is a brightly lit shop with 6 – 7 tables(give or take) and tons of fridges filled with tons of beer. Parking is abundant! The street is practically empty. There is a parking lot to the right of it. I love the whole beer flight concept and their inventory of local beers showcasing what the native state has to offer. The flights are $ 7.50 and you get 4 samples of your choosing. It’s so worth it! I’m not really a fan of IPAs or any beer for that matter so I was quite happy with their select few cider and sours selection. I surprisingly didn’t like the Two Rivers Shiso Ginger Cider but loved the Evil Twin Bikini Sour Ale. CCB is laid back. Nothing fancy. Not hipster. CCB is a place I’d bring my friends for a kick-back/hangout to talk and waste the night away. No pun intended.
