great, friendly staff so my rating isn’t about that. the food was suuuuuuper bland, and the flavors it did give out weren’t good at all. don’t go here unless you have never had good mexican food before.

Was craving some tacos for lunch, after a long morning of cleaning up. I’ve thought about trying this place a couple times before but they were always closed whenever I stopped by. Got some tacos and a quesadilla. The quesadilla was alright I guess, nothing special. The tacos were large, but not very good at all. I don’t like how they put a bunch of beans in it, kind of dilutes the flavor. The meats were not too flavorful… we had the chicken and the carne asada, but the carne asada was more disappointing. Meats were dry, the cilantro didn’t seem to have that nice fresh crunch, and the sauces were weak. I miss my taco truck! :(

My husband and I have been here several times and we’ve been happy with the food and service. The chili verde burrito is HOT but, oh so yummy, if you like hot and spicy food. The carnitas and shredded chicken are decent(the chicken was supposed to be in a spicy tomato sauce, but I didn’t taste any spiciness in it). The nachos were fresh but not enough cheese. Good for take-out since there’s not much sitting room. The family’s always nice and friendly and that’s another reason why we go back(oh yeah, and it’s close to our home).

what can i say about this place? we used to kick it here hard back when we were all in college, i think they have the best nachos in the world, and trust me I’ve had some nachos in my life, the food taste’s really fresh, it’s an excellent place to just hang out and talk, i love the chimichanga and JR(owner) is really nice and will remember you when you come back

It was back to school night, and as a teacher I needed to be present. What better way to fortify myself than with a burrito. The school librarian recommended«burrito loco». As a Spanish teacher, I should have suspected that I would be loca to go to a taqueria with such a name. Shonuff, the burrito was terrible. I actually like taco bell burritos, but they don’t try to pretend like they’re actually authentic or anything. Burrito Loco’s burrito had a tortilla like Taco Bell’s, it was cold and devoid of any flavor other than paste. The beans were dry, and I think they had been fried MANY hours before… they were in desperate need of some moisture. The hot sauce was too hot to eat, and I have a high salsa tolerance. It was all heat and no spice. The guacamole that I paid an extra $ 1.50 for(even though a veggie burrito should come with guacamole gratis in my opinion) was the runny, watery stuff that contains very little avocado. No chips to accompany the burrito, minimal napkins… I really can’t recommend this place even in a pre-parents’ night jam.

This is the close, quick, «I don’t feel like cooking let’s just have burritos I’ll pick them up on the way home» place. I’ve tried a few others in the area, and we’ve settled on this one as being the best around here… I mean, it’s no Gordo burrito, but it’s also just 5 minutes away… I always, always get the veggie super burrito w/whole pinto beans — I like that they offer whole pintos b/c a lot of places make you choose between black and refried if they offer a choice at all. Hubby gets the super with carne asada — that is hit or miss on the meat, but I’ve found that to be the nature of carne asada eaten out at cheap mexican places. I did notice that last time we went there — about two weeks ago, that the guac was actually chunky with peices of avocado in there, and not just the«runny green sauce» that was referred to earlier. And yes, the family is overweight… Would you not eat at Paul Prudhomme’s restaurant in New Orleans b/c he is overweight? Just tells me I’d better not eat there too often… :)

I’ve patronized Burrito Loco twice already and both times the food has been pretty good. But what stands out is the super friendly service I got everytime. Every time I go there, I stare at the menu for 10 minutes because everything looks so good and it’s so hard to make a decision. So, I always end up asking them what they recommend. Today I got the super taco(minus the beans) with carne asada. Yum! My husband got the«all meat» burrito — which he enjoyed very much. I really wanted to try the lengua, but I guess they run out of it early on Saturdays, and they informed me that since they aren’t open on Sundays, they don’t make anymore when they do run out. They advised me to return on a weekday/night or early Saturday.

God, everytime I go here(which is very infrequently) I think Why, why, why? This time I went after picking up some medicine at Walgreen’s. It’s a small family taqueria and the family is very overweight. Plus, the family yells at each other pretty loud. I totally felt uncomfortable. I got a super burrito w/shredded chicken to go. It’s $ 6 worth of crap. Overcooked rice, choice of beans: I picked black, nasty sour cream, some cheese, and boring shredded chicken. The flour tortilla was barely edible. The hot sauce I got was just awful too. I can’t recommended. Time visited: 3

Great place to get your Burrito Fix Burrito Loco is your typical hole in the wall burrito shack that serves a quick and tasty burrito. You can have your chocies in meats and even offer a shrimp burrito that is very taste. Best part is a long with good food, they make good size burritos at a very reasonable price. Most times a good burrito will cost you about $ 6 with plenty of extras. Most of their speciality burritos(Like a JD Drenched & Shrimp) are reasonable price. They even offer a super size burrito and chimiconga. All of their salasa are done nice and fresh too. Great place to stop by if in the neighborhood looking for a burrito.

Update 1÷8÷08 — I gotta say… I keep coming back here because the portions are generous and it’s consistently good. Everything is made on the spot and tastes fresh. So many of the other taco shops in Fremont/Newark are just not consistent enough. Go there, order the carnitas or pollo asado… MMM…
