This winery was an impromptu stop during a road trip, and I’m glad I took the time off the interstate. This town seems to be a local winery magnet — there’s another one just up the street(which I also visited, but I preferred this one). Despite its unassuming location underneath the clubhouse of a small golf course, the wine tasting room was tasteful and well-appointed. The staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. I tasted several wines and really enjoyed them — I came away with a bottle, and I may go back during future trips(I travel this interstate fairly regularly). The wines were mid-range(low 20s mostly) but of good quality.

This winery was another pit stop on our drive back home to Pittsburgh from Notre Dame. It was about an hour from South Bend but far enough away that it broke up the six hour travel time some. If it wasn’t for the large signs stating«winery» it could have been confusing since this gem is located on the lower level of a golf clubhouse. I asked the owner how it came to be that a winery was located in such a unique location and he explained that the space was formerly a restaurant and it had not been in use for several years so it was a perfect location for him to get started up. There is a $ 5 fee for tasting at this winery. They do allow you to split the tasting with someone. In our case, since my husband had to drive a few more hours, we split the tasting(with me enjoying most of the samples). The pours are very generous in size compared to many other samplings I have done and well worth the $ 5 price tag. There is about 12 different wines to chose from ranging from dry reds to fruity whites. There is even the option for a wine slushie! There were two varieties that had just been bottled and not yet released. A traminette and a cab franc. Cab franc is one of my favorite wines so I asked if it was possible to sample it. Both of the new wines were wonderful and even though they were not labeled yet, we were able to purchase them. A highly enjoyable experience that was much better then what we were expecting when we pulled up.

We just hosted a shower at Briali and it was amazing! Brian and Alicia ensured that we had everything we needed and everyone is still talking about how unique and special it was to host an event in the barrel room of the winery. The wine is fabulous and everyone who joined us for the day loved being able to taste a variety of wines and most people even bought wines before leaving for the day! It was awesome — thank you!!!

We were visiting my father and planning on visiting Satek. However, my father’s neighbor encouraged me to come here. The tasting room is located at a golf course and is pleasant, with friendly staff. I am a huge fan of wine, and I have done tastings in Napa, France, and Northern MI/Traverse City. My expectations were low, but I was pleasantly surprised. The pinot noir was the best, and it was also the most expensive. Surprisingly, I preferred the wines that were made with grapes grown on site. Nice spot… near the highway, outlet stores, Pokagen, and Lakes George and James.

I was really impressed with the wine here. Had a good variety with some complex reds. $ 5 tasting is a great deal.

Hidden under the golf shop, this is a little gem of a winery. The tasting room is decently sized and for $ 5 you can try 8 wines. There is a much larger selection of dry wines verses semisweet and sweet. It is part of the«wINe Tour» of NorthEastern Indiana… if you do a tasting at all the wineries involved, you get a one-of-a-kind wine glass with the«wINe Tour» label on it. :o) Super cute.
