The place is alright. The food is alittle bland. The prices are too high. I was NOT impressed with the famous Billy s! I would not recommend this restaurant.

Yes, it is absolutely worth going out of your way to experience Billy’s. Huge portions of great breakfast food. The LLB special was well done, as was the veggie omelette. Side order of home fries was the tallest thing in Ohio when it hit the table. Cheesecake is delicious as well. The cinnamon hotcake was the star attraction. But the food is only half the story. The friendly service and feeling that you are in a happy place with happy people can’t be understated.

Found this spot as I was headed back to Chicago from Ohio. Needed to stop for gas and decided to check it out because of all the great reviews. The hot cakes with cinnamon were memorable. Really this entire rating is based on the hot cakes. It’s been a couple of months since I had them and here I am still thinking about them. Eggs were good but I was a little disappointed with my bacon, way too crispy leaning on burnt. The place has a very small town feel. The type of place where everyone in the restaurant seems to know each other and as a transient you stick out like a sore thumb. Also I must warn everyone about the darn stairs leading to the bathroom. To get to the bathroom there is a door on a raised step, open the door and you’ll see stairs. There’s about 15 steps before you get to the bathroom. Going up your fine but going down, don’t forget that the last step isn’t the last step you see because the door itself is on a step. I almost fell on my a** and caused a huge commotion because I failed to remember this crucial detail. Everyone in the restaurant stopped eating and looked up at me as I nearly face planted. It was pretty hilarious but maybe they should just remove the door to avoid accidents. There is a warning on the inside of the door but by the time you see it it’s already too late.

We loved this place! Veggie omelette was cooked to perfection, and the cinnamon pancakes were some of the best we’ve ever had! Pam and Joy, the owners, are welcoming, attentive and efficient. This place runs like a well-oiled machine, they obviously know their business — we’ll definitely be back Lanky & Wreck

Came here on Sunday morning with friends from church. We had: Bacon and eggs breakfast sandwich Cinnamon french toast Biscuits and gravy Cinnamon pancakes Home potatoes Wow! We all agree that this place hit our breakfast craves. It was delicious and definitely a great spot to swing by when you’re in the area. The building is a bit small but it doesn’t take away from our experience. We had a great time here!

We loved this little place! The pancakes my dining companions ordered were huge, delicious and smelled like heaven. Large side orders of bacon, loads of coffee, delicious eggs. Yum. Order the pancakes with cinnamon; you won’t be sorry!

Perfect little place off the beaten path. Great food and great service, beats the retched cookie cutter restaurants that claim to serve a good breakfast.

First off cash only my first mistake, second was as far as greasy spoons go it was ok, saw all the great reviews and love to find great breakfast joints because I work nights like to eat after I get off. I first headed for the head and found they were up a set of very steap stairs if I was not steady on my feet it would be hap-hazard at best then found menu a bit pricey due to a lack of combos a lot of ala cart making my 2 poached eggs trash potatoes with English muffin and coffee $ 14 sadly of it was great would not be an issue but eggs were med hard and trash potatoes could be a signature item if it wasn’t for the pool of grease they floated in a slight tweak and would have been the best I have had. I will say the fish sandwich my daughter had was perfect as far as service goes it was good friendly but was a little busy. I think I might give them a chance for lunch but I think breakfast is out

After leaving Sandusky to drive south, we stumbled upon this gem of a diner. Based on previous reviews, we decided to stop for Brunch on a Saturday. Nestled in the heart of Historic downtown Fremont, the ladies who have owned and run the restaurant for 29 years have a wonderful place on the hands. Open for breakfast and lunch, we stopped in and got the breakfast sandwich, side pancake, and hash with eggs. All was delicious! The breakfast sandwich had so much wonderful thick slices bacon that I ate some of it before starting into the sandwich! The waitress recommended the cinnamon on the pancake which was wonderful! We also love the corned beef hash. All food is made from scratch and delicious. If you are looking for great food in a diner style environment this is the place for you! We will definitely be back if we are in the area!

My wife grew up in Clyde, OH just next to Fremont. We have seen Billy’s many times as we visited the area from MN. Went for the first time today. I had the sausage, cheese, onion and mushroom omelette. Killer sausage! Huge portion and huge sausage flavor w/o the grease. Didn’t ask but was at least four eggs, huge portion. My wife had scrambled eggs and bacon. Four slices of bacon the way it should taste. Thick cut and smokey. Side order of sliced tomatoes and two coffees. All for under $ 20. Previous reviews on attentive and friendly employes were an understatement. We will be back, for sure.

Really good hot cakes! Huge portions(especially the home fries)! Great coffee. Fantastic service! Definitely recommend. Be careful not to order too much, the portions are huge. We had a great time. They’re open Mon-Sun 6am-2pm but closed Tuesday. Oh and they don’t take credit cards.

I had two hotcakes(with cinnamon) and two eggs, scrambled, to which I added mushrooms. I haven’t eaten pancakes everywhere in the world, but these are the best I have had. I didn’t even add syrup to them. They were perfect. Fluffy, with buttery sweetness. The eggs came with a surprisingly generous amount of mushrooms. We went in at around 9:45 am on Saturday. The place was packed, looked like mostly regulars.(Notice how few the reviews, most of their clientele are the repeat customers in the know.) as a result of the place being packed, we did wait for a solid 30 – 40 minutes for our food. I would normally dock a star for slow service, but not in this case. First, that is not too long to wait for arguably the world’s best pancakes. Second, the waitstaff were very attentive; I think they topped off our drinks at least six times. The other two guys in my party both had great breakfasts as well, another having pancakes and eggs, the other bacon and eggs. All for $ 20. I’m not sure why this place is listed as a coffee shop. The signs say Billy’s restaurant, and the draw is absolutely the food. One last thing, they treat their customers right and don’t skimp on things like buying the cheap toilet paper or soap. If ever I am so lucky to come back through Sandusky County, Ohio, I will bring everyone with me to Billy’s.

This place is a gem. It’s worth the small jaunt off the Ohio Turnpike into the town of Fremont. A charming little diner from the 40’s, clean and friendly. Also: the home fries are fantastic. 5 stars in all areas, service, quality and price. We had a great meal/experience for $ 20.

Billy’s is owned by another family member of the owner of Whitey’s. The food is on par in both quantity and quality. The breakfasts are amazing American treats full of grease, sugar, and more grease! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the sausage is phenomenal.
