Good staff. Nice breakfast items at a good price. The lunch meals are good too. Place is not too large.

Generous portion. Sizzling black pepper chicken was tasty, but the spaghetti came with it was over cooked. Fujian rice was delicious too. Will come back to try other items again.

GOFORTHEHAPPYHOUR. 9pm-12am. I haven’t gone to one of those in years, especially Cantonese/HK style HH’s. When I was living in LA, I would frequent HK cafes every weekend because that’s what my parents loved. It was easy and convenient, and right outside in our neighborhood. Fast forward many many years and here I am again, a café so reminiscent of my younger days. It’s delightful, it’s bittersweet. It’s everything I wanted it to be. The food here is anything but ordinary. If you know HK style food, you’ll know that HK style street food is a play on many cuisines. You have the Portuguese style(usually baked), Italian style(baked pasta, baked spaghetti, pastas) and American inspired style consisting of sandwiches, steak entrees with an Asian twist. I came here for HH after a long day in SF/Berkeley shopping for my upcoming vacation and Christmas gifts, so naturally we were BEAT and needed to consume calories STAT. So what differentiates HH food from their regular menu is that you get smaller portions of their regular menu + a drink(lemon iced tea, HK style milk tea, Ovaltine). They also have snackier items like wings and instant noodles. It’s the ultimate kids menu for adults. In my day to day, i stay away from instant noodles, or instant whatever but to indulge in this was excellent. I had instant noodles(dry) with deep fried wings. I’m not even sure what that concoction is but the sauce was sweet and savory, unlike soy sauce where it’s just salty. It’s on the sweeter side. SoGOOD. We also got the baked pork chop in a tomato based sauce which is one of their more popular items. It was really good! The rice underneath is smothered with eggs, and the pork chop was aplenty. The portions are delightfully large. We got the milk tea and also the ovaltine. Both were SO good. I haven’t had a HK milk tea in so long and the bitter sweet taste of the tea and milk was enough to justify the lateness of the night. The ovaltine was seriously the best. I drank that everyday as a kid when my mother made it for me. I drank it in stress when studying, applying for Universities. It made me feel like everything was going to be okay. When I had Ovaltine again for the first time in years, I felt like everything is going to be okay. Comfort, definitely. The service was good. The waiter was really nice to us. This is a place you’d go to with someone you really know, or someone you grew up with. This is not gourmet food by any means, but it says a lot about the history of HK and the influences it had.

I am from Hayward, this restaurant is near my work place. I like HK style foods. I went there for few times in the past. They have good food and good service, I will come often. Thank you. :)

My goto HK café in fremont. Good food and service. For some reason when I went there on a Wednesday, they were closed. I think they don’t open on Wednesdays even though Unilocal says they do.

Oh boy! Where do I even start? I’ve been to a lot of Cantonese restaurants that take in that HK feel, such as Venus and Cousin Café. I like this café a lot better. You can tell that they put more love into their food. My boyfriend ordered the baked pork chop over rice and it didn’t have that straight from the can ragu taste that most other cafes have. It tasted more like a homemade sauce and they added fresh tomatoes! I got the«slippery egg» with meat over ho fun, my favorite! Overall, the food wasn’t greasy and the service was great! I’m really pleased that I’ve found my new go to restaurant!

Went there around 11am for breakfast. Tasty food. Low prices. Decent-sized portions. Service was OK. There was a young lady who was nice and helpful, and a skinny guy with glasses who didn’t talk at all(maybe a cat ate his tongue) but got the job done. Servers seemed to be more helpful if you spoke to them in Chinese. I’d call it authentic. Will definitely come back for lunch or dinner.

Items we had: Crispy bun with condensed milk Baked ox tail tongue over rice Black pepper beef sizzling noodle All food was super tasty. The baked ox tail over rice was a new dish to me. I loved the cheesiness along with the tomato sauce on top and the rice hiding under. Hnng. This is HK comfort food at its finest! The crispy bun with a little disappointing because it was chewier than anticipated, but the condensed milk was perfect. If it was crispier, it would totally worth it. The black pepper beef sizzling noodle was spicy and good. The noodles were a good consistency, pretty good chew on them. Service — it’s alright. Nothing too memorable, but food came out in a timely manner. I will be back!

Happy hour specials are cheap and delicious. I almost always get the baked pork chop over rice because the tomato sauce is so good. One of the few places that stays open late. Servers are pretty attentive! Cash only.

Came to lunch today, ordered lunch special which comes with soup and drinks and entrees, I got my entrée first before I get my soup, then kept waiting for soup, then had to ask for staff for soup, $ 8.59 is a decent deal, but that does not mean it should come with horrible service, friend’s entrée never came, while we see other table that ordered the same dish pumping out from kitchen, had to inquire about his entrees, later came with delay of 20 mins, came with spaghetti instead of rice, sent back and wait for another 15 minutes, through out entire service with all the delays and mistake, not one sentence of apologize, won’t be visiting this place no more, good quality and service down the drain,

I went there last night for dinner and it was really quiet — there were only a few other customers there. I ordered the seafood baked rice and some HK milk tea. The food arrived pretty quickly. The baked rice was ok — I’ve had better. The HK milk tea was pretty good, but a little more milk would’ve made it taste better.

Best part: open late. They get an extra star for that feature :-). Food is GREAT as well; we had the sizzling beef, Mongolian-style noodles, and HK milk tea(cold version). It was obvious that the food we ordered was freshly prepared. One thing to remember: this place is cash only.

Food is pretty good, I come here semi-regularly. Good portions and satisfying for a quick meal. Seating is cramped and service can be somewhat slow during rush hour. For the price though, not much to complain about.

Came here during happy hour, which runs from 2:30 to 5:30 and 9pm to 12 pm. Come here if you want to grab HK food quick and cheap. Restaurant: It’s pretty small and parking was not so bad at 3pm. Food Bake PORK — this is pretty good. I would highly recommend this. They mix tomato sauce with some cheese and some eggs. For 5.99 I cannot really complain. Won ton noodle — okay I was not a fan. The noodle is too hard and it doesn’t seem fresh. I had five pieces of won ton and 2 of them were just flat out bad. I did like the bok chou that came with it. Drinks: Coffee is plain and the milk tea is too sweet. Egg waffle — this is pretty good but I thought it was too sweet as well. Service: I thought service is pretty solid. We were seated immediately and the food came out pretty quickly. Only caveat is that it’s cash only but that’s the usual theme for Chinese restaurants.

Wow. Seriously 5 imaginary stars just for the worker who takes everyone’s orders, makes the drinks, rings people up, picks up the telephone, and even grabs the cooked dishes from the kitchen. He was literally one-kick-all(meaning, the one who does everything, in Cantonese). I was feeling such Hong Kong spirit from this guy. Anyways, after reading the reviews I didn’t have much expectations for this place. But my parents were craving for some HK-styled café food so we ended up here. Shockingly, it wasn’t bad! They had late-lunch to midnight specials available for $ 5.25 and $ 5.85 respectively. We ended up getting: Baked pork chop over rice — 3.5 stars — this was the highlight for me. It was baked well and the pork chop wasn’t dry. The tomato sauce mixed with rice was a delicious combo. Hong Kong style combination noodle soup — 2 stars — no go for this. The noodles had a weird taste to it and the ingredients were just meh. Spam and egg sandwich with fries — 3 stars — I personally didn’t try the sandwich, but the fries were thin and crispy, just how I like my fries! Egg waffle — 3 stars — yum, crispy and reminded me a lot of the ones in HK! Fried pigs intestines — I didn’t try this so I can’t give it a rating, but my parents and bf said it tasted better than average and the intestines were washed clean! We ordered Ovaltine, lemon iced tea, HK style milk tea, and coffee for drinks. Everything was good except my dad’s second cup of milk tea which got more bitter because there was a sudden influx of customers and the ONE waiter had to do everything… so it’s understandable. Overall, service was a bit slow due to the described reasons. But food wasn’t bad and prices were reasonable! Again, props to the waiter haha: D

I looooovvveeeee HK cafes. Granted, they will never stand up to the true café’s in HK but this is definitely a good stand in. Their beef stew noodle soup — their beef is really tasty! It was tender, well seasoned, and… luscious. The soup was fine and the noodles were fine but the beef was really good… they give 4 decent sized pieces of beef and 3 stalks of bok choy. Condensed milk on french roll — I actually find myself craving this from time to time. This is the last thing I have when I leave the HK airport. HK café makes it perfectly crispy with just the right amount of butter and condensed milk. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings — yummy! They added jalapenos but I couldn’t taste it. Regardless, well seasoned and not overcooked. Egg Waffle — this was the most disappointing dish we had. It wasn’t chewy enough and it was a bit burnt in the middle. It was less than $ 20 for all of this and it fed 3 people. Totally worth it. I wish I had a HK café closer to me in the OC but at least this place is close to my mom’s…and Tea Island!

For some reason, my dad and grandpa love this place. We come here at least once a week. Well, I guess there are some valid reasons. The portions are pretty big. We usually take almost half our order to-go because there’s too much food. Prices are reasonable, especially for lunch specials. Most specials are 7.50 and comes with soup and choice of drink. Last time I got the B meal. I didn’t even know they had other lunch specials until my dad pointed them out. They’re written in Chinese on a board(of course). That was probably the best thing I’ve had there. Baked chicken over rice with a tomato sauce, topped with a fried egg! But I think it’s a little more expensive than 7.50. Still, I think it’s worth it. My entire family, including myself, enjoy the minced meat with rice special also. The baked pork chop isn’t bad, but again, big portions. Service isn’t that bad at all… probably because we’ve become«regulars.» Needless to say, I’ll probably be back in the very near future. During the week at lunch time, look for a senior gentleman, a middle-aged man, and a rowdy toddler with his panicky mother(me). Chances are, you’ll find us here. Four generations.

I came here craving classic HK food but ended up getting a combo meal instead! It was the pork and chicken steak with soup, spaghetti, and a drink(HKMILKTEA!). The food was great overall. I was actually kind of full after drinking the soup and eating the spaghetti! But I finished everything cause the meat was really good. It wasn’t really expensive either. 11.25 for such a big meal is definitely worth it. 4 stars because the attitude of the server could have been a little better, but hey it’s an HK café, what do you expect? Will definitely come again and maybe try their baked rice/spaghetti!

Ambiance: 2.5 stars Price: average — $ 10-$ 15/person including tip Service: 2.5 stars Somehow every single time I come here the server and kitchen messes up my order. I don’t understand how this has happened 5⁄5 times that I’ve been here. Why offer spaghetti as an option if you’re going to put rice every single time??? I don’t get it. It wastes both the customer and chef’s time, and wastes the owner’s money because you’re throwing away food from getting orders wrong. They seriously need to get with the program o. O Food: 3 stars Seafood bake — 3 stars(food got cold because they put rice instead of spaghetti that was ordered –_-’) Pork cutlet over spaghetti with white sauce — 0.5 star(they reused the old pork from getting my order wrong with rice instead of spaghetti so the pork went dry and soggy) Baked spaghetti — 4.5 stars(they actually got it right! But only because it’s supposed to come with spaghetti –_-’) French fries — 3.5 stars crispy and decent Drinks: Sweet lemon tea — 5 stars, I always order a cup of water to dilute the tea and get more tea =] Hong Kong milk tea — 4.5 stars

Is this blasphemy? I hardly give out a 1-star rating to any restaurants but this HK café deserves this crown… After I munched my mochi bun pastry from La More café next two doors down, I got hungry and couldn’t decide where to go eat on a budget. I saw an HK café that’s similar to like Venus based on their menu and went in for their lunch special. Meanwhile, I was still standing inside waiting for a table, none of the servers promptly seat me but kept on staring at me like I’m a homeless bum. It felt uninviting. So I seated myself on an empty table and was patiently waiting for them to come to me for a menu. 10 minutes later while playing blackjack on my iPhone, I decided it’s time to go up to the cashier and ask for the menu politely. God, I am patient! Whilst standing up, I orderd a pork chop over rice from their lunch special that comes with a drink(milk tea, hot tea, or iced lemon), I chose the iced lemon tea since it was a hot day. Backtracked to my table and the server were taking FOREVER. I witnessed they were just socializing with their coworkers and playing/texting on their Samsung Galaxies and not even give a flying crap about me. I waved up my hand asking where is my drink and the food and then they were like«OH! Oops». Okay, at least I reminded them… When one of the server was about to approach me to give me my drink, he just rightfully SLAMMED the iced lemon tea on my table that my drink spilled over(SEEPHOTO) and just fled off without any apologizing. Um, okay talking about rudeness. I feel like they all hate me for no reason. I was ignored the whole ENTIRETIME since I set my foot in this HK restaurant. I didn’t feel welcome at all. The food isn’t even that great and they were bland. The food was burnt. The pork chop over rice has nasty white creamy sauce that was burned on. They probably spit on it before giving it to me. I feel hated by them. The bill didn’t come at all, either. I had to stand my butt up to the cashier and pay my dues. I will not come back here because of their burnt food and barbarous service.
