San Luis Pass County Park

This is definitely a great fishing spot! The area is great for day or night fishing, but does get very crowded with people that don’t seem to understand fishing space etiquette. Still a good time. If you’re coming to hang out at your rv though, you won’t have much space. The lots are on top of each other and it is hard to get a rruck/​rv through the spaces when you can park in the «street». The bait shop/​store close by and the beach (where you CAN) swim just right across the highway are perfect! Will definitely go back for fishing and being a kayak if you have one!

For fishing this place gets a solid 4 stars. Our group had fun camped here for the weekend. Most of the day was spent fishing from the nearby designated fishing pier areas which surprisingly was quite happening. There where high periods where people around us were catching fish every 5 – 10 minutes and then of course the dead slow periods. However overall the day was quite fruitful when compared to other fishing trips/​location we have been to. The only negative is that its an island and due to the limited space the camp sites are right next to each other so a lot tighter than we’d like but again the heavy fishing action made it worthwhile. So overall we would recommend if you intend to fish otherwise there are better places to camp out at.
