Walked in and was not even received with a welcome or a hello, but a weird look from waitress, didn’t even know where to go to ask for take out, guy behind the counter was so distracted by an iPad and cell phone and didn’t even hand me a menu I had to ask for it !!! And then I asked for a soda made me go get at the fridge by the mini bar, it instead of getting it for me since I am the customer ! Very disappointed for my first time, don’t think I’m going back.

Very good Colombian food. Friendly/pleasant staff. Moderate prices, good portions. I normally order a ¼ chicken rotisserie platter, which comes with rice, beans, fries, salad… I also usually order green plantains OR arepas. I’ve been ordering food from this place for a few years now and never been disappointed. If you need help with the menu, just ask!

You have to know what to order. If not, you’re left with some pretty hard-to-swallow options. The pork with sweet plantain left my mouth very dry. Let’s discuss portion size. My friends ordered the chicken version of my dish, and the orders were humongous. It was difficult to finish such a giant slab of meat with sides of beans and rice. Normally, I wouldn’t care if I was given a giant’s portions; however, my thinly sliced pork was so dry, I had to utilize all the table sauces(orange French dressing-like & one that was slightly spicy) available. It was akin to swallowing sandpaper. The guanabana shake con leche was decent; it was definitely not as good as the ones I had in Costa Rica, but still managed to bring back fond memories. I was here with a small group for a friend’s birthday. When I arrived, there was only one other table occupied; it was very empty. Halfway into our dining, the staff started to remove the booth seating and replaced it with regular chairs. As more guests filtered in, the rearrangement of furniture had us perplexed. I wondered if it was going to transition into a dance floor. When some latecomers arrived, the manager came over to inquire if they could have us move so that they could repeat their prior actions with the other tables. It was a little off-putting to those guests. Apparently, they had advertised that they’d be showing a soccer match on the TVs later in the night. People were paying a cover charge of $ 10 each, which I thought was a bit much considering the TVs weren’t that big. Service, for the most part, was friendly and efficient. The only issues were when they tried to gently nudge us out of the restaurant, and also when it came to charging our CCs. The waitress had taken my card and another guest’s card; she then charged the entire bill to the other card even though we had given supplemental cash. Meanwhile, she came back without my card. It took some time before they worked out the mistakes. As I said, you have to know what to order. One of our latecomers was a lady from Colombia. She ordered a cow stomach stew(not exact since she had a hard time translating) that smelled and looked divine. The space itself was a mish-mosh of tiki bar & diner décor; somewhat confused, but still comfortable for casual group gatherings.

My girlfriend is from Colombia and this is her favorite Colombian restaurant. Not only the food is outstanding but the prices are very moderate. I rated them with 4 stars back in September… since then, we have gone at least six more times and they don’t disappoint! They sell beer and wine but I usually like to bring my own. They will allowed you to bring your own for only a $ 5 uncorking fee!!! …Make an effort to meet the owner and I promise he won’t forget you.

My favorite Colombian restaurant! I always order bandeja paisa con carne molida and it comes with sausage which other restaurants don’t give :) Large portions, service is good, and they recently redecorated, it looks nice. Sometimes they have a live singer and some customers will get up and do karaōke.

A pleasant family restaurant. During my most recent stop, I had rotisserie chicken with maduros and fried yucca. The chicken was flavorful and juicy. The yucca was extremely filling; it would be perfectly paired with a savory sauce. The maduros were my favorite part of the meal. They were mild and made for pleasant sweet course.

I discovered this place after BLIMPIES went out of business and this family moved in to the space my favorite lunch time oasis used to occupy. I used to order food from here a lot. Food is not spectacular but the only place in Freeport you can get a bandeja paisa. I stopped going there because of a typo in the menu. I ordered food based on the menu price and when they delivered, the price was twice as much(for a whole chicken). When I called, the waitress I spoke to called me a liar… making me have to go down and speak to the owners daughter… who simply told me that it was a typo, no apology, no negotiation… I just had to pay. So me(and all my staff) stopped ordering from this location… $ 30 in daily business lost because they could not side with a good customer. On a different note… the owner and her family are very nice people and I wish them well. They are my customers and I know that they would never tolerate this type of service from my business.
