This is my favorite sub place. if you want a true Jerset sub this is the place to go. cheese steaks are ale very good. Be prepared even a half sub is very big and is probably two metals for most people. The workers are also very good and they keep the line moving.

Love this place! Best sub shop around the Freehold area and for a good price too. Contrary to some reviews I thought the staff was very friendly and attentive. I got the Italian sub with everything on it and it was delicious!

This local gem has some of the best sub sandwiches around. Huge sandwiches with tons of meat and toppings. Quick service and friendly employees. I try to get here every time I need a sub.

This is definitely the best sub shop in Freehold, but unfortunately, there is room for improvement. My all-time favorite sub shop was Poor Boy’s in Brick, when they had the old building on the corner of Brick Blvd. and Cedarbridge Ave(They recently re-opened a bit further south on Brick Blvd, which I was very excited about). The main reasons were: quality meat(oven roasted turkey with the dark skin– yum!); quality bread, and just the right combination of condiments. While Sorrento’s has all of the acutramol to make a decent sub, they never use enough of it. First, the meat: they are very cheap with how much they put on the sub. If I’m getting a sub with only turkey, I’d like more than one thin layer on the sub. If you ask for more meat, it’s a few dollars more, which is annoying, because you end up paying almost $ 15 for a whole sub. Same goes for subs with several different kinds of meat, such as their Italian(#5). Also, regarding their turkey, I’m not a huge fan of the kind they use– it is a bit spongey/slimey; oven roasted would make such a huge difference! I also usually have to ask for extra vinegar; they make it a bit too dry for my liking. The service is pretty good and quick; the guy managing the meat slicer keeps the line moving nicely. And I appreciate that they just started accepting credit cards not too long ago. Overall, good enough to keep me going back, but if there was a Poor Boy closer by, they’d have my business over Sorrentos.

Who doesn’t love Sorrento’s? They make a great sub. Try the Bird Special(cheese, chicken, turkey) with some hot pepper spread. NOJOKE!!! If you stop in for breakfast they make a great bacon, egg, cheese on a hard roll. Love this place, been going here since I was a kid, over 20 years. As a matter of fact I think writing this review is making me stop there for lunch today. haha. Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.

I had boycotted this place for 25 years because of the staff and service. Started going again because of the huge value. The cold subs are big, great, and exactly like they were back when Noah was a cabin boy. I would have to drive to White House subs in AC to do better. Having said that, the service is still snide. Guess it’s a New Jersey thing.

Finally tried this place after several recommendations! Quick service and great sandwiches. Would definitely use them to cater if needed. Make sure you try the bacon egg and cheese for breakfast.

This is my alltime favorite sub shop. The ingredients are always fresh, and taste great. It’s true that they are pricier than other places, but you get a lot of food, and it’s always great. The breakfast side is good, but i’m a bigger fan of the lunch and dinner subs :)

Food = 4(solid NJ sub!) Service = 2(hello I’m standing here, please make my sub!) Ambiance = 2(true old school sub shop décor!) Overall = 3 Have you ever been to Jersey Mike’s? that is Sorrento’s. bread may be slightly different, otherwise tastes the exact same. We like Jersey Mike’s so certainly no disrespect, but wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

Sandwiches are cheap, whole sandwich is a bargain. Hot sandwiches are amazing, this place never fails. However the brand of meats is def not Bores head and they are a little cheap on the amount of meat on cold sandwiches but this place never disappoints. Also they now take credit which makes life easier.

I would give it 5 stars but its just a sandwich shop so I didn’t feel it was right. With that being said, it is easy to make an average sub but Sorrento’s make a great sub. The combination of the meat and bread is just right. Sandwiches are easy to screw up but Sorrento’s does them right. Keep up the good work.

I still love the heros here, but unfortunately, our opinion of the eggplant parm hasn’t changed. It’s been a long time since we decided that the eggplant here changed for the worst. Was making a run here yesterday and wife thought she’d give it another shot and see if they went back to the old way. I guess she should have asked first! To sum it up, the eggplant hero sucks!!! I don’t care if the old way was frozen eggplant, it was better! Breaded, crispy and fried! The way they do it now with limp, unfried and unbreaded strips of soggy eggplant just don’t cut it in any way shape or form! Sorrentos, if you are reading this, and you should be! Go back to the old eggplant! Breaded and fried the way God intended it to be!!!

I’ve been growing up on the sandwiches, subs, and breakfasts that they serve here at Sorrento’s. I live nearby and it is by far one of my favourite go-tos for breakfast and lunch. It’s definitely a classic and if you live in the general Freehold/Manalapan/Howell, heck, even the general Monmouth County area and you haven’t given it a try, you absolutely should. I’ve never had a better sub than I have at Sorrentos. The bread is soft, the ingredients are extremely fresh, and the taste is phenomenal. The breakfast side(yes, the restaurant is split up into two parts — the breakfast side and the«subs» side) serves the best hot meals and piping hot breakfasts, with eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and more. One of my favourites would have to be the pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwiches on kaiser rolls. Can’t go wrong with that, and Sorrento’s fulfills all your breakfast and sub cravings. In addition to a varied and TASTY selection of food, the service is wonderful. The owner and his staff are extremely friendly and always open to strike up a conversation with the customers. I’m a familiar face over the course of the past ten years or so, and the staff at the breakfast side always greet me and my family with a smiling face. Awesome place. If you haven’t tried it, head over there and order a sub right now.

Great subs and breakfast! This is the second time I came to this place the first time was 2 weeks ago I got breakfast stuff. The breakfast sandwiches are excellent. I got a pork roll, egg, and cheese. I asked for it on a sub roll, and it was under $ 5. Great price considering the sandwich on a regular roll was only a little less and I easily got double the meat and eggs. This time I went for the cold subs on the other side. The portions are big. The prices are great. They used good quality cold cuts. Next time I have to try the hot subs. I stopped in because it was on my way home but I will now make the trip just for the subs. The only thing is with such a big place why not take credit cards. They seemed very busy for a week day afternoon. The other thing is the workers really didn’t speak good English and I had a hard time giving my order. But they were very nice and friendly.

They do have good food however just placed an order for pick up while waiting for my sister to give birth at the nearby hospital. I ordered the cheese steak wrap on honey wheat wrap. First of all they didn’t put it on honey wheat like I asked instead on a regular white wrap. Also you think cheese steak would come with peppers and onions but this did not. Just steak and cheese. Tastes ok but not what I expected. My mom got an eggplant parm and when we got it it was a chicken parm. Chicken was really good but again not what was ordered. My dad got veal parm which was the only order that they got right. He enjoyed it! So my suggestion is if you order over the phone just make sure you have them repeat the order so you know they got it right!

I’ve only ever gotten the cali cheesesteak(steak, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise) but it’s delicious! I honestly prefer this over a Pat’s or Geno’s cheesesteak from Philly. The bun is just the right amount of crispy and warmness so it tastes so fresh. Give it a try!

Had to come here out of convenience. Unfortunately no other real sub shops around. Compare to Tasty Subs of Edison, Joyce’s in Lincroft and any Jersey Mike’s, this place is marginal at best. The mystery meat always intrigued me… why not advertise the brand and why take the wrappers off the meat in the case? Hiding something? Taste it and you know it’s inferior. And what’s with not taking credit or debit cards? The whole world, or at least First World, takes cards! So, you have an ATM on site. That’s convenient… and self-serving. So, I get the cash and pay a fee that you get a portion of, then I pay you cash that you can hide from Uncle Sam. Nice extra revenue stream there. I cannot stand the few places I have seen do this. They make a great Boar’s Head sub across the street a quarter mile down at the Foodtown deli.

I come here on a regular basis when having work done either one of our cars. My wife knows that T will skip breakfast so that I can eat here while waiting for the car(Sorrento’s really should offer a discount for Pro Vo Vo customers). Pricing is great as is the overall selection on the breakfast side of the house. My favorites are the Broccoli and Cheese Omelet with crispy home fries OR the Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese sandwich with the aforementioned well done home fries. Always busy but you never have to wait very long for your order — just pick up your coffee and they deliver the rest. TVs and the daily newspapers make for a pleasant stay. Cash only, but they also have an ATM.
