Caballero & Sons

Had Caballero & Sons at my house on ³⁄₂₀ for a house drain backup that was causing water to come back into my basement. After listening to my problem for 15 minutes, the plumber told me he wont be able to do anything to fix it and most likely a whole new line would need to be run out to the basin (across my entire yard). He told me the owner would need to come out and give me an estimate. He also charged me about $ 65 for coming out to my house to tell me he cant do anything. The owner was scheduled to come by on Saturday, March 28^th. Spent half my Saturday waiting. To add insult to injury, no one showed up or called.
The problem was eventually fixed by Roto Rooter who manually snaked the PVC pipe and elbow that led outside. No need to run new pipe across the yard.
I refuse to chase people down to give them my money. It took $ 65 but it was a lesson well learned. Call someone else.

Used Caballero and sons for a service call today and couldn’t be happier. From the first contact everyone was very courteous and helpful. The service fee as of the time of this review is 59.00 plus 75.00 per half hour and parts.
I called around 0845 and even though I didn’t have an appointment I had someone at my house by 0930. The service did a fantastic job in a very timely fashion. The fee was very fair, 59.00 service fee plus (½ hour labor) to cut off an old elbow and put in a new elbow utilizing a coupler and install and hook up a new P trap. The charge for the parts used to complete the job were also very fair and comparable to what one would pay at a hardware store.
I am very satisfied with Caballero and sons and will use them again for any of my plumbing needs and I can recommend them with good conscience to anyone in need of plumbing services.

I had a leak in my my upstairs bathroom that dripped through my downstairs kitchen high hat lights. Called Caballero & Sons and was told they were booked solid, but would try and fit me in. A half hour later we received a call that someone would be here in 10 minutes. It turns out the valves on the sink were leaking. The tech was fast, efficient and courteous. 45 minutes later the job was complete. The price was amazing. It was only $ 207.70 which included parts. What a steal for what was done. I highly recommend Caballero & Sons.

We called them during normal day time hours, but over the weekend. I was told plumbers always respond on weekends, since this is when things most often happen and people need their help, not when people are at work. Nobody picked up the phone! We are local to Freehold/​Manalapan area and knowing that your local plumber will be there for you was important in the past. I think concept of local plumber is not really working. Local plumber is overpriced, spoiled and does not value the customer. We have seen another local plumber (aka «family friend») came over recently and quickly charged us double price for replacing a kitchen faucet. I could probably buy a used car for the price of his visit. This was a lesson learned.
We just called Doctor Rooter and they immediately responded and gave us 1 hr estimate. Plumber came as promised and was very nice. We will be replacing the broken pump and will probably do few more things. Overall, our first experience with Doctor Rooter is good and we will be relying on them going forward, trying to avoid local neighborhood plumbers, mainly for reliability, high pricing and low availability.

I too have used them a few times over the years. They are honest, show up on time and are always very polite. Superb service and a pleasure to deal with.
Highly recommended.

Shows up on time, fair prices, friendly people, finishes work when they say they will.
And unlike so many contractors/​repair people, they don’t talk down to women!

I have used this outfit several times in recent years for small and medium size jobs. I don’t know how they are for big jobs. They show up when they say they will. The work gets done properly, and if there is a problem, they make it right. I don’t feel that they try anything devious.
They are polite and pleasant to deal with.
This seems to be a well-​run business, and I like dealing with them.
