This is THE place to learn how to brew beer or make wine. They teach you to actually brew a 15 gallon batch of beer, stout, ale or porter and a few weeks later after it ferments in a temperature controlled walk in you get to bottle it and take it home. Best yet is that they clean up and you don’t mess up your kitchen. Go with friends and have a brewing party order a pizza or subs and have a blast while you learn and make something authentic to take home and drink. I’ve made numerous batches of ales and beers there through the years. It always becomes a party and then later at home we get to enjoy it again. Great for gift certificates. I made 375 ml bottles of white wine for favors for my daughter’s wedding guests and bottles of wine for Christmas gifts. You get to see and know what is in every drop of beer or wine by making it yourself. Brew at home people buy their stuff there too. They have everything you need to do it. Staff is very friendly and informative too.

Great place to go for all you home brewing needs! They’ve got all the supplies and ingredients that you will need to brew up a delicious batch of beer or wine. Reasonable prices, too! The have the biggest selection of beer kits that I have ever seen in one place. Check out the binders full of recipes on the bar. Find something you like and they will put together a kit to make just about anything you can think of. Great place!

First off, let me just say that Lou did a great job! Overall, we had great first experience brewing beer. The staff walked us through the entire process — from choosing a recipe to brewing to bottling. The beer tasted great and we had a fun time. Will definitely be back!

My first time at this place I got to brew beer on premise as a birthday gift from a former girlfriend. It was an awesome experience. Without a doubt, it fueled my love of homebrewing my own craft beer. The staff at the time was friendly and knowledgeable but they still let us brew the beer to some degree on our own. It turned out fantastic. These guys are legit. They know how to craft a recipe and they are passionate about beer. This was back in 2009. Problem is, ever since when I would return to buy ingredients, the staff was extremely rude. They are just not friendly. If you don’t know exactly what you want, they’ll give you even more of an attitude. Ultimately I stopped going there. It was a 40 minute drive to Freehold from where I was and a new homebrew shop opened up closer and the owners are MUCH friendlier and accomodating. If they were just better at customer service, they would have gotten 5 stars. Still, great supply shop for homebrewing.

I tend to write reviews about things that I really like. This place fits the bill. BEER. Who doesn’t love a good brewski right? And to be able to go and make your own while making a mess outta somebody else’s place? Priceless. So the new location is great… huge space with lots of room to accommodate groups. They have a decent sized homebrew shop where you can get all of your ingredients and equipment. But what most people make the trip for is the brew on premise setup that they have(huge copper kettles in which you do 15 gallon batches). Prices are fair for what you are getting. The average run of 15 gallons is going to cost you about $ 250 give or take. This includes pretty much everything down to your bottles and labels. Can you buy craft beer cheaper in the store… of course. But there is something about making your own and learning the process that is just so darn exciting. The staff is extremely knowledgable and they often run classes for those that want a more immersive experience on learning to brew at home. And there are two big benefits of doing it here that cannot be understated. 1) They guarantee the quality. You are going to get a drinkable beer with no off flavors. I have brewed a lot of beer in my garage over the years and this is easier said than done. 2) No cleanup! Make your beer and walk away. On top of that they usually let you«sample» a little bit of beer while you are there to see what you like. I usually play dumb. «What? A Delirium clone? Never had it!». Amazing gift for any beer lover in your life. Or if you are that beer lover treat yourself… you will not regret it.

What a neat little place! Ever want to brew your own wine or beer, but was unsure as to the in’s and out’s? This is your place, then. From the outside, this is just a generic warehouse — little to nothing in the way of signage, a plain paint job, a rickety screen door, and no windows. If you were just driving along route 33, you probably wouldn’t even know it’s here. Walking inside, it’s a brewer’s paradise, complete with all the equipment and supplies you need to brew gallons of «adult soda». There’s even recipe books with clones of popular brews, which takes the guesswork out of which ingredients to buy. Hope you like the smell of malt and grain, because this place has a POWERFUL aroma. Thankfully, I love the smell. If you aren’t a homebrewer(yet), this place gets better: they do on-premise brewing. You book a date, tell them which style you want to brew, and show up with 1 – 4 friends to be walked through the process, using their equipment. They’ll store it in their facility until it’s time to bottle, you come back, and go home with a whopping 15 gallons of the elixir of your choosing. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon! I went here with a group of friends for one such brew date, and the staff was exceptionally friendly throughout the whole process, encouraging us to try each ingredient by itself to gain a better knowledge of beer and the process in which it’s made. They’ll even give you a few samples of whatever they’re brewing to drink while you make your own hand-crafted masterpiece. I’m not sure if it’s a good or a bad thing, but between the stuff brewed at home(with equipment purchased here) and the delicious stuff brewed on-site here, I now have more beer than I know what to do with. Party, anyone?

I loved this place. I would drive over an hour just to get ingredients to brew beer but each time I’ve gone the service has gotten worse. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful when I fist went in there but I’ve learned to just walk away if they have a group brewing on site because no one even notices your there. The last time I was there someone finally came over to help me with my recipe order. I told him which one I wanted and they had me check out. 15 minutes later I still had not received my recipe. Finally someone asked if we had been helped and I explained the situation and they eventually got what I had already paid for. I could understand them being busy but I could see a group of 4 just standing around talking in the back so I was just forgotten. Bottom line, this place is great if you have a group that wants to brew on site. If you are a home brewer and are just looking for ingredients you better plan on waiting around for a while.

Fun and interesting way to get your beer! The place is awesome! Went on a gift once and have been back 3 times since and plan on being a regular. Tons of recipes and a great staff to give you as much or little help as you want. This is a great thing to do with a couple friends. A batch produces 15 gallons/six 22 oz –12 bottle cases. Brewing with three people is very economical too. Even with added expense to buy your reusable bottles the first time you go it still comes out to be close to the store prices of a quality craft brew… but this is yours! If you like good beer and a good time you need to give it a try!

Great place for the first time brewer and more experienced brewers as well. Knowledgeable, friendly and cool staff can help out even a complete novice. Supplies galore for home brewing too! I have made 2 ales at the old location. Just brewed a new ale at the new bigger and better location at 865 route 33 in Freehold NJ.
