Great atmosphere. Good entertainment. Staff is friendly and courteous. Food is ok. I will definitely go back to enjoy the warm feeling you get.

I am a veteran when it comes to Cuban food, unfortunately what they have to offer is really subpar with insanely high prices being in Freehold, NJ. Ordered 2 appetizers, seafood croquettes and chicken chicharrones, which were both fine. Dinner entrees were Hugh disappointment. The $ 45 skirt steak lacked any flavor and the chimichurri sauce was bitter and tasteless. The pork chops on the other hand were extremely salty on the outside and tasteless inside. The salmon dish was also meh. Dinner for 4 came to over $ 200 without liquor is… at Freehold, NJ. No wonder there were only 2 tables on a warm night. Drop the prices, shape up the entrees, I might give u another shot.

Beautiful atmosphere here and nice menu selection. I had the beef empanadas here which were good and these stuffed mini balls filled the shrimp and lobster which were good as well. For entrees I had the skirt steak here which was too chewy and needed more seasoning and was accompanied by rice and beans which was just decent. I also had the mofongo with white meat chicken and sorry to say it was the worst chicken I was ever served from any restaurant I ever ate at it was SO dry and had no flavor whatsoever. It was awful! The side of Maduros was good, but I’ve had better. I tried the chocolate tres leches and the vanilla tres leches both outstanding! They are both moist and definitely must gets here. Id recommend for the owner to Check out Beso restaurant in Staten Island and see how Real Cuban food should be made. I’d love to have a great Cuban place to go to with excellent food without having to drive so far.

I had a skirt steak with ribs tonight what can I say sheer perfection the ribs are so different and out of the ordinary with a sweet glaze in them, and the steak is just an unbelievable smothered in the delicious onions and some kind of chimichurri sauce

Fantastic!!! All of it!!! Love the shrimp and chorizo appetizer, the Puerco Asado dish comes on the bone presented beautifully and cooked such that it will fall right off the bone. I love their Ropa Vieja and the Guayaba y Queso empanada is delicious. I recommend to all my friends and family. A little pricey but definitely authentic!!!

Had a great experience. When you first sit down, they serve fresh bread with guava butter– so good! We ordered the Lechon, which was terrific along with a huge portion of delicious paella jam packed with seafood. Don’t miss out on the ham croquettes which were so flavorful. The live music only added to the flavor explosion. We also ordered the chorizo and octopus appetizer, which was mediocre and would not order again. Despite this, I would definitely return as the rest of the food made up for it.

Decided to go here for my birthday with my family, because I was craving some Cuban food. This place has a very convenient location in downtown Freehold Boro. I’ve gone here a few times, with hopes of eventually liking the place. That never happened. I’m only giving this place 2 stars because of the mediocre food for such high prices. I got the churrasco steak with white rice, black beans and platanos. The steak was chewy, and lacked flavor. The white rice and beans lacked salt and seasoning. The platanos were the only things I liked, and those are hard to mess up. The only thing I loved is the tres leches cake. It was moist, and flavorful. Besides this, there is no reason to return to A Little Bit of Cuba.

food was fantastic & I love love love the modern décor and ambiance– perfect little date spot! however on my first experience here for a friend’s birthday we were rushed out by the owner/manager pretty much as soon as we paid our $ 200+ bill. we understood it was a Saturday night & there was a wait but we still had about a little bit of a pitcher of sangria left to finish(spread between 4 girls it wouldn’t have taken long — plus not only did we have to supply the wine ourselves but on top of that paid $ 14 for the fruit & pitcher) instead of letting us finish they gave us styrofoam to-go cups and pretty much rushed us out. if it wasn’t for being the best Cuban place in my area that experience probably would have turned me off completely, but again really enjoyed the food & am basing my 4stars on that & décor. I’d suggest hitting this place up on a weeknight if you’re looking to be able to calmly enjoy a meal & the atmospheres

It is 10:36pm and I just left this restaurant with my family and I must say I was extremely disappointed. Atmosphere: It is a very nice restaurant Service: Horrible, the waiter was literally standing over me talking. Rarely came to the table to see if everything was ok. Overall just bad service. I’m guessing it was the owner, she needed one of our seats for another table, but before we even said anything she grabbed my daughters accessory bag, placed it right on the table and took the chair. Not one word came out of my mouth. Food: Extremely Disappointed. Way over priced for the food. I ordered the Churrasco(it was oily, as well as medium rare when I asked for well done), another order was the ropa vieja(it was good), the Snapper was mediocre at best. If you are of hispanic origin you will be HIGHLY disappointed on how BLAND the white rice and beans were, there is absolutely no taste. Overall just a horrible experience and will not ever go back let alone recommend this place. My family and I were very upset on the outcome of this restaurant. We love Cuban Restaurants and have been to MANY and this one is by far the worst

Went to little bit of Cuba for a rehearsal dinner a few weeks back. Parking in the rear and byob. Food was all excellent and the servers did a great job with the large party. We got everything family style. Highly recommend.

We were driving home through NJ, and found this great Cuban Restaurant. The black bean soup was not thick, like I have had in most Cuban restaurants, but it was delicious. As was the Ropa Vieja. Next to desert. An empanadas filled with guava and cream cheese, and sweet corn ice cream. OMG. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

Beautifully decorated restaurant with very high prices. I’m trying to be a little open-minded about this review but honestly I could not justify paying the high prices for any of the food with the exception of dessert… Tres leches. We had the octopus and chorizo which was served in an extremely Paprika based sauce with vegetables. Very small portion and the sauce was off. We also went for the Cubano sandwich which was again just«off». The ham was fine but the pork tasted odd. The sandwich was served with a very weak mustard and I didn’t really see any pickles. Just wasn’t good — you get better at your local diner. We had the skirt steak which came out properly cooked to temperature. It was served with onions and rice and beans. The chimichurri sauce was vinegary and not your typical green herbal like sauce. Although it was not what I expected in a chimichurri, the vinegar base went well with the steak. While our visit was disappointing it was only our first visit. I’m being kind and giving it three stars for now, and looking forward to perhaps stopping in again sometime in the far future.

Shi shi Cuban food and you’re paying for the shi shi. I will give it to them that the restaurant is beautiful and a great place to bring a date, or for a special night out, but the food was very mediocre. For the price per dish, I was expecting a lot more. Had dinner here w/a girlfriend and we ordered the shrimp mofongo to start, she ordered the shrimp with garlic sauce entrée and I ordered the ribs. I originally wanted the lechon but did not care for the sides. Asked the waiter if I can substitute and was abruptly told«No!» umm… ok… I wasn’t particularly surprised by his response as the service he provided was rude to begin with. Now, I’m normally not a stickler for service, but when I’m in a shi shi place, you expect the service to be better. If I was paying $ 10 for the entrée, I’m not expecting much but at almost $ 30/dish I’m expecting a different caliber of service. I was not particularly enthused with anything that I ordered. The ribs were good, but not worth almost $ 30. The shrimp mofongo was also good but not particularly great. I will not be back, nor would I particularly recommend.

This place is great! Went there early on a Saturday before catching a movie at the AMC Freehold Metroplex(which I highly recommend for their lazy boy lounge chairs and reserved seating). The restaurant is a cozy little place with outstanding food! On saturday nights they have a band playing with bongos that makes it an entertaining and more authentic ambiance. BYOB but they’ll mix in your wine to make you a sangria pitcher. Liquor store right across the street in case you forget. Roppa vieja was delicious for entrée, the tostones are so good, and so are the empanadas and the chicharon de pollo. I’m told(by friends) that the chorizo appetizer was good but I didn’t try it. I left stuffed and happy :) great experience!

Phenomenal food, great atmosphere, just a tad bit pricey. Came here with a gift card that was given. We ordered small dishes to share, which I feel is the perfect route to take here. The ribs were so good, I will not forget them. Will try again soon…

The BEST Cuban food I have had to date! Granted this is my first time here, but they left an impression on me. The service was great, the décor is adorable and chic. I have zero complaints and cannot wait to come back again. I pray the next time I have a similar experience. I literally had the best Mofongo ever in this place. It melted in my mouth with every bite… Very moist in an amazing salsa. Never had one like it. I can’t fathom how Anyone has had a bad experience here. Perhaps they have more than one cook who doesn’t have it quite as together as the one we had. Who knows… but to me, the food alone deserves 5 stars.

Entrees were great, big plates, I took ½ my ropa Vieja home. It’s my first time there, not sure if I would return though. The service was great. Just don’t think the cost is worth it in comparison to other restaurants.

Well had to saw was disappointed with the food. I have been craving Cuban food for the longest time but there isn’t any in my area. When I found out Freehold had this place, my bf and I made plans to go. The restaurant is very beautiful itself. Clean, pleasant atmosphere. Our waiter was a nice guy. But it was the food that killed the moment. I ordered a Cuban sandwich appetizer(they don’t sell it as a main course) and it was okay. They drizzled some odd tasting sauce on top of the sandwich which didn’t add to my enjoyment. I also ordered a side of yellow rice which was inedible. It had an awful taste. I am PRican and that was one of the worse rice I have ever had — not sure if it was just a bad batch but I only had one bite. My bf ordered the roasted pork. They brought out a huge chuck of the pork with the large bone in. It had the skin on it but it was not toasty/crunchy and there was a lot of fat in proportion to the meat. The meat itself was tasteless. I tried it myself. I am not sure what it was, lack of salt and seasoning. The only thing we liked was the maduros(fried sweet plantains). Super disappointed, but even more so because it was not cheap. We would have definitely preferred to go to Martino’s in Somerset which is a Cuban restaurant that is cheaper and has much better tasting food. The only thing is it is a bit of a drive. We were hoping that A Little Bit of Cuba would have a closer replacement. Will keep looking…

Came here for our anniversary dinner after finding them on Unilocal.Authentic Cuban food in a romantic byob restaurant. Outstanding experience! Atmosphere: beautiful décor included perfect mood lighting, gorgeous chandeliers, pretty wallpaper, and cozy booths that felt very private. Authentic Cuban/Caribbean music played overhead at a great level. Food: WOW! Very classic Cuban dishes on the menu. We went for the tostones over ropa vieja appetizer– tender, succulent and flavorful pork hid under these freshly fried tostones. For my main course, I chose the shrimp with saffron rice– 6 perfectly cooked jumbo shrimp lay around this yellow rice that was atop of a delicious tomatoey broth. My boyfriend chose the churrasco dish, medium well– such a tender cut of meat, very nice portion size, and cooked perfectly; the chimichurri sauce paired so nicely with the cut of meat. For dessert, we went for the tres leches cake– wow! Talk about melt-in-your-mouth! Not too sweet, this cake was frosted and topped with ice cream. Incredible. Service: Our server was extremely attentive and helpful. Not only was he in charge of all the tables in the restaurant(less than ten on a Monday night) but he also was the host and took all the phone calls. Despite his workload, he was very calm and friendly! *tip: there’s a parking lot pretty much across the street that’s free!
