My problem with boutique stores is there’s such a minimal selection of clothing. It’s usually from one extreme, crazy patterned leggings, to the other, plain camis. The former I would never be caught in public in and the latter I can get from Walmart. No matter the type of clothing I always look at the price and am afraid to even touch anything because it’s so expensive. Also, the staff are usually stuck up and make me feel like I’m going to stuff a shirt in my bag as soon as they turn their back. Now that I’ve gotten my rant out of the way I have to say the Mustard Seed is not your typical boutique. Large selection. They have a great selection of clothing and jewelry and are always getting new stuff in. Since it’s located in a small town I had this vision of all the local women running around in the same chevron maxi dress. Not the case. They don’t carry a surplus of the same items. So you can buy an outfit and be confident that everyone and their mother won’t have the same one. Great prices. I’m always surprised at how reasonably priced the clothes are. If you were to buy the same item in the city I have no doubt it’d be marked up so much higher. For me this means instead of buying just one item I don’t feel guilty buying two or three… or four! Locally owned. You can also feel good knowing your money is going to a local business that stocks some local products. Not some chain store with mass produced products. Friendly staff. The owner is so nice and makes you feel welcomed. Her daughter also works at the store and is one of the sweetest girls you’ll ever meet. If there’s a downside to having them working at the store it’s that you almost feel guilty not buying something from them. I absolutely love this store and try to stop in anytime I’m in town. It’s a great place to find gifts for friends and family though I have to admit I usually leave with something for myself. If you’re ever in the area be sure to stop by!

This is a great shop for buying gifts as well as clothing. The selection is excellent everything from jewelry to mugs, much of it made locally by artists and crafts people. Very nice staff too. This is the first place I go to purchase gifts for friends and family.
