This is my favorite place to relax!!! I alway leave feeling amazing. James is the best stylist I’ve ever had. He is incredible! This man can take broken beat up hair and fill it with life, making you feel younger and more beautiful then you thought possible. Their products are a god sent they’ve saved my chemo hair and rejuvenated my skin. I also love the elemental nature facial because it is so relaxing everything seems to melt away. They use scents to help you reach a state of mindfulness where you can let go and release all tension. Five stars every time! Everything is alway perfectly clean, bright, and organized. Everyone is knowledgable, helpful, and they work as a team. I’ve alway been greeted with a smile and offered tea or water upon checking in. Stop thinking about going and make an appointment you won’t regret it!

Ghis was my firstvtime getting my hair done at Tulip and I went to Amber. I loved the way she listened to what I wanted and then spoke it back to me for verification. I also got a break down list of what she was gonna do with cost total as well! No surprises! Love that! Also, when I left the salon I had two ladies approach me and rave about my hair! Made me feel so good! Amber did a fantastic job with color and highlights! Highly recommend!

I am the type of person that when I decide to cut my hair I like to do it same day so I don’t have a chance to change my mind. I also never get a chance to go to the same stylist or even salon because it’s usually a last minute impulse decision. I had known about this salon for a while, being a Stafford native, but usually when I decided to cut my hair they were booked. I decided to try and book online and was excited when I found a time slot same day! I thought to myself ‘No turning back!’ I called the salon to make sure the slot was open and was informed that it actually had just been taken but they were able to fit me in a little earlier. I got there right on time for my appointment. The salon was very clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. The receptionist, Sarah, was nice and attentive. She kept my updated on where the stylist was with the previous client and made sure that I was comfortable while I waited. A few minutes later she introduced me to Kennedy. She was very upbeat and bubbly. She asked me exactly what I wanted and we went from there. She was very professional and approachable. It was almost like you were getting styled by your best friend vs a stranger. Going from long hair to shorter hair is definitely a change and Kennedy made sure I was happy with the cut. I would definitely recommend this salon to others. The hours are great and the prices are fair. I think I have found my hair a new home when I have my impulse hair changes. I’m giving this salon 5 stars for Lawrence the color specialist who has now colored my hair twice and it looks fabulous! I’m very picky about my hair and have settled on him. Second, the other stylists have done a wash/blow-dry for me on different occasions and each time I was happy with the results. Thirdly, the product is amazing! Great staff, great stylists and great products… great experience!

Angela gives the most amazing facials. She has a great personality and the most soothing touch. It was definitely the best facial I’ve ever had… and that’s saying a lot because I get them all the time. I fell asleep for part of it! She relieved so much of my stress just from the 30 mins I had with her. And my skin? It looked amazing! I love that this salon and spa uses Aveda products because it’s been a few days and my breakouts are now nonexistent and my skin is GLOWING. Next time I will definitely be booking a 90 min facial with her so that she has more time to pamper me and make my skin look flawless.

Owner does not care about customer satisfaction. Warning for those you go here… If you do not get the results you are looking for with their hair color line, don’t expect the owner to work with you on this. She sees it as your fault the hair color did not work! I use this salon only for haircuts with one hairdresser… and that’s it!

If I was rating Tulip Salon and Spa solely on the excellent stylist with whom I worked, Sara Beth, this salon would be a solid five stars — no doubt! However, due to the way we’ve been treated by the owner, Priscilla, Tulip gets two stars, and that is generous! We moved to this area just over a year ago, and I was thrilled to find such a wonderful stylist in Sara Beth. I referred three friends there as well. Over the past year, I’ve spent over $ 2000 there. Maybe that says I need to focus less on my hair, but with the superb cuts and color I received from Sara Beth, it was worth it. Priscilla and the front desk team, however, are a completely different experience — negative, negative, negative. No thank you’s, no apologies for having to reschedule appointments or saying they are double booked. I’ve had to reschedule two appointments, and you would have thought I was asking Priscilla for blood, bone marrow and her first born. After being treated so poorly by Priscilla and her front desk team, I have decided not to return to Tulip Salon and Spa. Tulip is Priscilla’s business, and she can run it as she sees fit. However, my money is mine to spend as I see fit, and I will no longer be spending it at Tulip. I’d rather go somewhere where my business is appreciated and valued.

I live an hour away from Tulip Salon and I will happily drive there every time I need to get my hair done. Lawrence is AMAZING! I have never been happier with my hair. The color is perfect and I love the style. The entire staff was friendly and the customer service was fantastic. Tulip salon is amazing. I’ve been a customer there since it opened a few years ago. The Aveda products are great for sensitive skin. The owner is very nice and always takes time to say hello. The stylist I’ve had are amazing. Lawrence is an absolute hair genius, both color, cut, and styling!!! The only thing that is frustrating is that you have to make appointments weeks or months in advance if you have a busy life and can only come certain days of the week.

I moved to Fredericksburg VA from NC over 2 years ago. I am a black woman who wears her hair in an afro. I did not think it would be as hard to find someone to give me a quality cut and color. I Googled Natural Hair salon and made an appt at the one that came up. The stylist was so busy pushing their hair products and criticizing what I used I did not feel comfortable. I tried a co-workers salon and they wanted me to do braids, dreads or weave. Another salon suggested I just relax it. Frustrated I considered going to DC to see my sister’s stylist. Since my last hair stylist had been at an Aveda salon I thought I would try Tulip. I emailed to ask if there was someone who could handle ethnic natural hair. I promptly received an email from the manager giving 3 names. I made an appt with James who fit my schedule. I am so happy. My hair color is fantastic and people remark I have lost 5 – 7 years. The cut is wonderful. He took his time to make sure that I was happy with the shape. Finally he got in there and fluffed it out. At no time did I feel he was intimidated by the afro or natural hair in general. Even my mother who is hard to please loved it. The salon is top notch. Not cheap but so worth it.

After wandering from one stylist to another for years — I finally found«the one». Samantha is a joy to work with. She’s professional, thoughtful, and SHELISTENS to you. Since coming to her, my hair is in the best condition it’s ever been in. I have long hair and get highlights and cuts by her. I moved to Arlington VA earlier this year and still continue to drive the hour(or two depending on the insane traffic here…) to have her take care of me. The staff is incredibly polite, I adore the massages during the shampoo, and the salon décor is soothing and elegant. Aveda salons have always been better in my experience so it’s just a plus that Tulip is an Aveda salon.

It was my first experience at an Aveda salon and Danielle was spectacular — from the beginning to the end. I am moving to the area and really needed a hair cut while house hunting. I’ve been to many Aveda salons in the past and enjoy their level of service and quality products. Jessica, one of the senior stylists, did my highlights, suggested a deep conditioning treatment, and my cut. I was really impressed by the service and kindness of the personnel working at this salon. It’s also incredibly well maintained and really clean. I’ll definitely be going back!

Kristin has since been forced to leave the salon. I know longer get my waxing or pedicures at the salon. The other girls that Priscilla has tried to hire just are not as good as Kristen, nor are they as sweet. As for my pedicure– there are a few factors why I don’t get them done there anymore more. The first being I can’t tolerate the cream they use on your legs. It make my legs breakout in a itchy rash, and there is not a substitute that they have offered. The other while I can’t prove you anything I ended up with a wart on the bottom of both my feet. Let me first star I don’t walk bare foot, I don’t go to the gym outside of my home, and I was only going to tulip for the past 2 years for my pedicure. Since I have had them removed, I will just stick to pedicure at home. Samantha is the only thing that keeps me coming back. She does my color and cut. While she was out on maternity leave I saw another stylist. Don’t get me wrong, I like him, I think he does a good job however, he ran out of hair dye and had to mix more. When I went to check out they were going to charge me $ 45 for extra dye. I have never had a salon try and charge me extra when they had to mix more color– and I use to go to some of the top salons in NYC. Oscar Blandi, Oribe and Bumble and Bumble. I don’t have unusually long hair, and Samantha never had to mix more, let alone try to charge me $ 45 more for it. I was also brining my boys to get there hair done as well. It all changed when there $ 25 hair cuts turned into $ 40 each. Now I wouldn’t mind it if I was forewarned of the change and price put I was told” Oh weren’t you called?” no I wasn’t. Well on that day they agreed to charge me the 25 $ each. The next time I brought the boys back, I was expecting $ 40 each– and the only reason I took them back is because I didn’t find another place for them yet and they really needed a haircut. This time I go to pay and its $ 45 each child! I am shocked. They told me a men’s cut was $ 40 for a 12and15 year old, not that the girl who has been doing their cuts is now a «designer» stylist so its even more. Needless to say with my always 20℅ tip my boys will not be going back for hair cuts there. That is to pricey for kids hair cuts! The culture has certainly changed within the salon. I have been going here to the salon since the doors opened, and there was only a handful of clients, now the only thing that keeps me coming back is Sam.

If you’re into being treated like a number or enjoy being disrespected, please come to Tulip. My wife had several run-ins with the«Manger/Owner» Priscilla saw fit to insinuate my wife lied about the price quote for our daughter’s appointment. Then she called me rude(and hung up on me despite my remaining calm and refraining from yelling/cussing at her) for calling to voice my concern. 2 hours later, after the situation finally sunk in(after my wife explained for a third time what happened), the light came on and she acquiesced to the original price quote… only to take it out on her brand new employee by docking *her* pay! If you want a good Aveda experience, please take the extra time to head up to Woodbridge(or further)… unless the management has recently gone through some customer service training.
