We were living with window AC units in the the summer and an old boiler for heat in the winter, so when it was time for a HVAC system we shopped around. We contacted several companies in the area. A couple never felt it was important to return our calls, one gave us an estimate over the phone, and one came and took measurements and we had to hound them to receive an estimate. When we received it, it was only a bottom — line cost without much detail or how they derived at that number. Robert B. Payne was the only company that was able to deliver and I would certainly recommend them to those who ask! There estimate was thorough, detailed, and included drawing. The crew that came to the house was knowledgeable and professional. It took 5 days to install — they were prompt and explained what and why the were doing certain things. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome.

We needed a new full HVAC system. We scheduled an appointment for a Tuesday evening with Robbie. He came out and was pleasant. He didn’t take any notes of the situation until he was leaving, like 1 minute. However, he did state he would get us the estimate the following week as he would be out of town till then. We waited that whole week wondering how they were going to get it to us as we never gave our email or any other way. The following week I called on a Thursday and the lady in the office took my email and said she would get back with me by end of business Friday. No call and no email on Friday. It is now Tuesday, 3 weeks after having Robbie out and still no estimate. Definitely would not recommend as they seem to do only emergencies.

I woke up this morning to a freezing house due to the furnace not working. It had been fine the night before. Of course it was the weekend when RBP is closed. Called the emergency number shortly afterwards the on-call technician called me back and was at my house within an hour. The problem was quickly found but required a part that has to be ordered. He showed me how to keep the furnace running until the worn out switch could be replaced. I’ve used RBP for many years and have always been very happy with their service.
