Same day service on a snowy day. Excellent technician who was friendly, knowlegable, precise, in his assessment and work. He fully explained the situation and we had choices: repair or replace. His expertise helped us make a good choice. Will recommend this company and technician toour neighborhood association.

I called Precision because my garage door was stuck. The technician was experienced, articulate, and pleasant. During his $ 85 inspection he explained the door could not be repaired and I would need to replace parts of it at a cost of over $ 1500. To make things worse, I would be unable to use my door until it was repaired and it would take several weeks to get the parts. Later that day I called a smaller company for a second opinion. The guy who came out was nowhere near as articulate and managed to fix my door(better than before) for $ 150. I’m sure Precision does great with larger jobs.(Why else would they use that name?) However, you may want to get a second opinion on any large job they propose as someone else may be able to do it quicker and for much less money.

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. I had one of their service techs come out to give me an estimate as I had noticed metal wires hanging off either sides of the cylindrical bar(later identified as the Torsion Spring) located at the interior top of my 8×7 Wayne Dalton garage door entrance. Kevin arrived on time and actually seemed really professional, nice, and helpful. He took about a 60 second look at the issue and told me that the best thing to do would be to convert my Wayne Dalton spring to a standard torsion assembly which has the springs and other parts on the outside of the structure and would allow for easier and less expensive repair to individual parts in the future vice having to replace the whole assembly as with the Wayne Dalton singular piece. I asked Kevin what the repair was gonna run me and to my utter astonishment, he told me that it would cost over $ 700(plus another $ 85 for the service call)! Taken aback, as looking at the 8ft metal bar, you would expect the piece alone to be no more than $ 50, I had expected the repair to be no more than between $ 150-$ 200. Mind you, with the piece broken, my door still functionally worked, and was able to close and open as usual. Me, in my ignorance about all things garage doors told him Kevin that if it was completely necessary, to go ahead with the repair. He went to his truck to get started writing the invoice before starting and I went back inside. Something just didn’t seem right to me, so I did a few google searches on the part. As I’m searching I’m pulling up prices of like $ 50-$ 60 for the Torsion Spring. How does a repair which takes less than an hour using a $ 60 part get to be $ 785??? That’s over $ 700 an hour for labor! I’m obviously in the wrong career field as a Systems Engineer. I also decide to call another company I find on google called Prince William Garage Door. I explain to them the issue and he without hesitation tells me the repair(parts and labor) is $ 175…I ask Kevin about the discrepancy, and he gives me a confusing explanation about how he doesn’t know how that’s possible, and how it can’t be done, and how there’s all sorts of misc. other parts I need that bring the repair to the price he quoted me. Needless to say I luckily tell him to hold off on the repair. Even having to pay the $ 85 service fee I would come out a lot cheaper than having to pay $ 785, if the other company could fix it for $ 175. Long story short, The Prince William Garage door Tech came out the next day and converted/replaced my Wayne Dalton Torsion to a Standard Torsion Spring in about 30 mins. for the $ 175 that was quoted over the phone. He advised me that it was a very common repair and even the replacement would break in about 8 years(The approximate age of mines that broke). He also serviced and lubricated my entire system. I subsequently called the manager at Precision(703)352−3881 to let them know how shady I thought the whole experience was. I let them know that I thought it was a bad way to do business to over charge and take advantage of customers(especially repeat customers!) selling them stuff that they don’t even need. The manager(a lady) I spoke to basically explained unapologetically to me that they are a retail company that is in the business of making money, as opposed to giving the customer fair value for service(Her words). I told her that they had definitely lost a customer, and that I would not be referring/recommending them in the future. I asked the manager what her name was, but she hung up in my face without telling me. What a horrible experience. I shouldn’t have even had to pay the $ 85 for that attempted rip off! Do yourself a favor and don’t even bother calling this scamming rip off price gouging company.

I wish I could give them zero stars. My husband called them out because the spring to our garage door broke. I admit he did not do his research and went with the first company. They charged in $ 85 to come out and then $ 374 to replace the spring(parts and labor), they told him the cost of the spring ranges form $ 78-$ 187, and apparently the price is determined by the cars in the driveway because magically we were charged the $ 187 for the spring. On top of that our door does not close properly! Stay away from this place they charge twice the market value and defraud their customers

I had a bad experience with another garage repair company whose technician never showed up, so I called Precision and was told a tech would come out the next day. The technician, Matt, called a ½ hour before coming, showed up promptly and was very courteous. He diagnosed the problem and the 85.00 was the cost for the techs time NOT labor. He had to replace a bad spring, balanced the door and lubricated it as well. I had a coupon from Facebook which he accepted and the price with everything was under 275.00. Very professional. I would use them again and would recommend them.
