Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Ten years ago, you couldn’t find a parking spot at the Marquee. On a Friday or Saturday night, it was the place to be! Unfortunately, they’ve done nothing to keep the place up. They’re floundering to keep the doors open, and it shows! The carpets throughout are terribly worn, badly stained, and even ripped and bare in places. The walls have the same dirty, stained look, leaving the entire theater with an overall grimey appearance, and smell! Everything about this place is in bad shape. It’s so bad that you get angry when you realize what you’ve paid for: stale popcorn, gross, dirty seats in a smelly theatre with outdated, poor quality screens. Just walking in that place makes me want to bathe in hand sanitizer! It’s sad, but they need to get shut down. Never going back.

Possibly the worst theater in Virginia! Old, antiquated equipment; dirty; not well heated or cooled; and without a doubt the worst concession stand I’ve ever seen. We only went there to see an early movie that wasn’t showing in Central Park at the same time. Never again! It’s a dump!

I will not go here again. I saw Zero Dark 30 last night and hadn’t been to this theatre in years. I remember when Marquee Cinemas first opened and how nice it was! Damn, this place has gone down hill. The employees were pleasant, but everything was filthy. The bathrooms were so gross that I wanted to roll up my pants so the hem wouldn’t touch the disgusting and wet floors when I used the toilet, the floors in the theatre were so sticky it was almost difficult to walk, the theatre I was in had about 7 seats that were covered in a tarp… there was a huge hole in the ceiling. We sat two rows in front of the tarp and the water dripping down and landing on the tarp splashed on our necks!!! We moved up several rows, I’m short and someone ended up sitting in front of me, making it hard to see and by then it was too crowded to move my seat, so I had poor visibility despite the«stadium seating» — which must be an older height difference than new stadium seating because I haven’t had this problem in a long time! During the movie, all of the disgusting, long dangling cobwebs were blowing in front of the screen, distracting you from the film. On the way out, I noticed several sections of the carpeting on the wall was missing and the visible wall just looked disgusting. I wanted to take a shower after going to this theatre! As a kid growing up in Fredercksburg(I’m 30, so not that old), we had the«Dollar Theatre». Movies were 75 cents on Monday and $ 2 on weekends and $ 1.25 all other days. That theatre was really disgusting too, but it was so cheap it was fine. But paying $ 9 for a movie at Marquee is ridiculous! $ 3 more and I could have gone to Paragon in Central Park — -now that place is so nice that you feel lucky to be there! I will never go to Marquee Cinemas again.

When Marquee first opened in Fredericksburg it was a convienent spot because you didn’t have to drive all the way to Central Park just to get to Regal. It used to be a pretty decent movie theater but within the past few years it went down hill. I must say though it’s the cheapest around and it’s rarely ever busy. It’s not very clean but you can always find seats which is nice.

There are certain things that you must do sometimes for a girl and one of them as a guy is sitting through movies that are not your style. While there isn’t any time travel, zombies or aliens, Eclipse wasn’t bad actually. The only thing that was bad however, is this hole of a theater. Not sure how theaters get so trashed? Kinda like the owners and employees don’t care, but it’s just dirty and small. With dirty bathrooms. Clean up your S ~

I have to agree with the other reviewers. This is not a nice theater in any way: convenience, screens(size or quantity), seats, cleanliness, etc. It is worth it to make the drive elsewhere. Generally speaking, I’d rather not go to the movies at all than go here.

Of the 2 theaters in the Fredericksburg area(the other being the Regal off of Rt. 3), this is definitely the better. They’ve recently upgraded many(if not all) of their projectors to digital which has greatly improved the quality of the picture. The theater has become more run down in the past couple years. There’s definitely the issues w/the seats and floors the other rater mentioned. The ceiling tiles are also problematic. But, compared to the Regal theater, this one’s pretty good. The popcorn is usually ok. Wouldn’t get the pretzel bites… they’re not very good. The«automated» ticketing system they have in the lobby doesn’t seem to work properly. I’ve tried using it several times(especially when the lines are long) and it always seems to show the movies that are several hours away instead of the movies in the very near future, ie, the ones you’d want to buy. So, you need to go to the ticket booth. If you have the time and energy, the AMC theater at Potomac Mills is probably the best(cleanest/newest) in the extended area. However, it’s not always convenient to drive an hour(or more depending on the traffic on the always busy I95) to that theater.
