Great little diversion. Went in on a whim. Pleasantly surprised. It was not busy, so we were quickly seated and waited on. The service was great. Our server was very attentive. Food was delivered quickly. Great experience… glad we stopped by. Will come again!

We went to an early Valentine’s dinner. We were frequent visitors when they had their spot in Stafford. Apparently the rent in the city is far higher than in the county. Their prices were expensive for the service and our waiter completely forgetting to put in out appetizer order. The food is good but we were disappointed with the lack of attention to us. We had to ask for more bread and we waited and waited for an appetizer that never came. Granted the waiter gave us a free dessert to share. What killed us is that we were the only people being served in the whole place. When we left, I guess the owner or manager was at the front desk – he never made eye contact with us, never lifted his head. He mumbled something to us. He was too caught up in sorting the receipts. Not the worst, but not the best. We are really disappointed.

Met some friends there for lunch — had never been before but it had been recommended as one of the best of Fredericksburg. It was definitely worth the trip — the food was excellent, the wine list was awesome, and the waiter was charming. Looking forward to a return visit in the near future…

Overall the food was very good and the service was great. Nice atmosphere. The yucca fries were awesome with their sauce.

My friends and I went there for dinner after the ghost tour. We got a private room and a wonderful waiter. The food was outstanding and their wine list was excellent.

We had a delicious lunch on the patio! The crab soup was delicious as was the calamari. The staff was kind and knowledgable. Kids had spaghetti and meatballs. Portion size was good and they both liked it very much! We would definitely return to La Rosetta! Highly recommend.

For dinner this evening, we decided to branch out and try someplace new… it’s always hard for us to ween ourselves away from going to Foode when downtown-it’s our favorite! La Rosetta had a nice looking menu, so we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant itself has a neat atmosphere-casual, yet elegant. All of the workers were very polite and we were showed to our seats. It was a Saturday evening, but not busy at all. We were given bread and oil to start-the bread was nice and dense, and to oil had Parmesan cheese in it… a nice touch! We were starving, so an appetizer of the Calamari Alla Rosetta, which was very flavorful with it’s peppers and lemon; a nice change other than the standard fried, bland calamari with dipping sauce. For my entrée, I had the FAGOTINIDIMELANZANE, which was eggplant stuffed with ricotta & spinach, and topped with mozzarella & marinara. It was an appetizer, but it was of decent size and and totally delicious. The eggplant was stuffed with a generous amount of the ricotta & spinach mix. My brother had the Linguini Alla Mitchell which he loved, and I thought it was very nice as well-the pesto sauce was a delicious twist! The only thing that was not enjoyed was my mother’s meal of Callos De Acha(ham-wrapped scallops). She did not like them and didn’t finish them all-bummer. She got the yucca fries and her side(additional charge), and they were strangely addictive-the fries themselves didn’t have much flavor, but the Aoli gave them a nice tinge of flavor. We simply couldn’t leave without dessert-my brother had the tiramisu(a dessert I don’t particularly like), and my mom and I split the profiteroles and the chocolate ecstasy. The Profiteroles were stuffed with vanilla icecream rather than cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce… and my favorite, the Chocolate Ecstasy(because I’m a chocoholic), was a flourless chocolate fudge cake, served warm with raspberry sauce and vanilla icecream! Our check was delivered in a cute cigar box, I think as a way of distracting you from the pricey check. Our bill came to $ 105 dollars for just the three of us… not too terrible, I guess, because we ordered appetizers and desserts. Overall, I quite enjoyed our first meal at La Rosetta. The food was pretty fresh, and there is quite a nice selection of food. I would describe their ethnicity of food as Italian, with a Latin flare. Good job to this new restaurant!

Went there for 9 August Sunday Brunch and had a great time. Very interesting menu; ordered«Divorced Eggs»(ha!) and the dish was delicious. Priced very competitively with other eateries along Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg, the service is great; the staff is very positive; the menu is ‘different’(thank goodness!!) and from all indications, anything you order you would enjoy. We will be back!

I went here with friends for Restaurant Week, and was underwhelmed. The service was good, but the food itself was not. We tried all of their offered restaurant week dishes, and few things were better than a prepackaged TV dinner. When there are so many other awesome restaurants downtown, there is absolutely no reason to eat here. Especially when it is priced in an upscale fashion.

I visited La Rosetta for the first time a few nights ago with my mother to celebrate her 96th birthday. I had taken Amtrak into downtown Fredericksburg to join her and stayed across the street at the fine Marriott Courtyard Hotel. She must use a wheelchair now and so, when we encountered steps up to the front door, I thought that perhaps I had made a mistake in choosing la Rosetta for dinner. However, a waiter named Robert, and then the owner, Jose, came out and assisted my mother up the stairs while I parked the car. Once inside, we immediately loved the historic atmosphere of the expertly refurbished house and the attentive personal service. Robert waited on us hand and foot and we loved every course we had: shrimp cocktail appetizer, a very tasty asparagus salad and then two veal dishes for our entrees. My Veal Parmagian was tasty with a great homemade tomato sauce, although the presentation was admittedly rather pedestrian and unappealing. But fortunately, my mom’s scallopine of veal topped with a concasse of tomatoes, mushrooms, green olives, onion, bell peppers & brandy was to die for and she loved and ate every morsel. I brought my own wine and paid a reasonable $ 10 corkage charge. The desserts were even better than what preceded. I had wonderful homemade profiteroles and my mother was presented with a Happy Birthday cannoli, which was excellent, and Robert and the staff joined me in singing happy birthday. The prices were reasonable, especially for the gourmet quality of the food and the menu is loaded with a number of mouth-watering Italian, French and Cuban cuisine choices, which made it that much harder to decide on which items to order. On the way out, my dear mother needed to use the restroom, which is quite a production for an elderly lady in a wheelchair. But, while I went and got the car, Robert once again went to the rescue and assisted her into and out of the ladies room and then down the steps and into the car. He was a very caring and kind young man, who was a wonderful representative for this fine establishment. I can’t say enough good things about La Rosetta and would highly recommend it for food, service and atmosphere, especially for a special occasion.

We were, unfortunately, really disappointed. Let me say the service was wonderful! However, the food was less than exciting. The seafood paella was overcooked, and the scallops were rancid, so much so that my friend had to stop eating. My mojito was too sweet, but they were nice and remade it. I also asked if I could try and substitute a side salad instead of the French fry/baked potato/rice/spaghetti option, but they wouldn’t do it– even with me saying, an upcharge would be okay. All in all, the food is DEFINITELY not worth the price.

I liked this place pretty well before it moved to Fredericksburg so tracked it down. The waitress I had was one of the most irritating waitresses I’ve ever had. I would want to ask her for napkins, tea, limes, etc. I would get one thing out of my mouth and she would race off. The end came when I was going to ask her a question about the menu and she said«I see you haven’t decided yet so I’ll give you more time» and she started to vanish once again. I just told her if you are so busy you don’t have time to wait on us properly send out someone who DOES have the time. But anyway the crab soup was really tasty though it was hot enough to make my nose run. I ordered the veal picatta and it was just too lemony tasting but still good food. My wife got the veal also. We both got the crème brûlée for dessert. Oh yes, the waitress finally straightened out. One of her stunts, though other places do the same is plop bread on the table with oil and race away. I don’t put that oil on the bread but wanted butter. Of course by the time I was able to get butter the bread was cold. But the food is good there and I wish Dale City had a restaurant as good.

Consistently the best food. This is a must for a wonderful dining experience. Today we are enjoying the cream of crab soup which has a little kick in a good way. The side salad is very good and fresh. Trust me, this is amazing and you are missing out if you don’t eat here.

We had a group dinner here and the service was exceptional. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, offered helpful opinions on what she liked, and was overall just a pleasant person. The complimentary bread and oil were both great. For my entrée, I ordered an off-menu item and the chef was more than happy to accommodate. The pasta, freshly made, was very good. Bringing the check out in a cigar box is a great idea — nice touch. Overall, we will be back if for no other reason than because the service was so great. Next time we will pick an evening to sit outside on their patio.

I had a business meeting here in one of the rooms upstairs. It was the perfect space for us. The staff was so friendly and took such good care of us. This was a great meeting location! The food was wonderful! My team was very happy, relaxed, and comfortable! I wanted to post pictures, but I’m having trouble.

$ 21.00 trout for dinner I expect there to be no bones or scales when I bite into my trout. The food was mediocre and overprice. This is my first experience at this restaurant and already a bad impression even when I ordered the food to go. The calamari isn’t crispy and lack any type of flavor. The marinara to dip the calamari in was good, but could be more flavorful. I wouldn’t suggest this restaurant for anyone who’s looking for a good place to have dinner.

Today is Valentines Day and my fiancé and I came here to celebrate. We had gone to the location in Stafford and I heard they moved, so I wanted to check it out. I loved the dinner we had at the old location! First of all, downtown Fredericksburg is amazing! I love it! The restaurant is in an old building and we just loved the atmosphere and how the restaurant is set up. We sat upstairs. Our waitress was great and service was good. A little slow but it was busy night. Love that the checks come in cigar boxes! The big thing, we spent over $ 100, only had wine and entrees. 3 glasses of wine and 2 entrees. My fiancé wasn’t even full after dinner. No salad served with an entrée? Would be a nice touch when spending $ 25 for an entrée. We had a great time but the prices are A little high. May want to think about adding a side salad with an entrée. Castiglias has cheaper prices and serves a side salad, food is just as good!

La Rosetta in Stafford was our favorite restaurant. They always recognized us and said, «Good to see you, welcome back!» We were sad to see it leave Stafford but were excited to go there again when it finally re-opened in the new FXBG location. Wow were we disappointed. Food was disappointing — the menu has changed since the Stafford days and you no longer receive a complimentary house salad with your entrée. Wine selection is not as good as it used to be. Seating is somewhat awkward as another reviewer noted due to it being in an old house, but that wasn’t really a big deal in the grand scheme of things. Our waitress was nice and she was trying, but she was definitely very new and there were some service issues. Overall a very disappointing visit.

All I can say is that La Rosetta was just spectacular !!! Went on Sunday last day of Fredericksburg Restaurant Week with some of my girlfriends and we had one of the best meals ever!!! Our server Emilia was efficient, prompt and knowledgable about the menu. Being four on our party we all tried the four offerings of entrée choices, I had the Veal Brasatto which was braised veal morsels with gnocchi in a light Marsala wine sauce and mushrooms a delicious dish! The veal was tender and the gnocchi right on point. I had the Butternut Squash Bisque garnished with a goat cheese mousse, this is the best soup I ever had and for dessert I chose the Tiramisu which was perfect ending to my meal!!! My three friends as well said how wonderful of an experience they’ve had and I went ahead and booked a table for my husband and I for this coming Friday!!! Try this new restaurant you will be pleased with food, service and ambiance!!!

My lady and I went to La Rosetta during the Fredericksburg Restaurant Week promotion. We both had the Pan Seared Scallops(very tasty, but also too small of a portion). She had the Brasato di Vitelio and I had the Pollo alla Genovese. Both meals were exceptional! Service was very good.

If your not a foodie and just like to occasionally get out and eat something that’s not too rich or spicy, you might like this place. If you’re in the mood for some fine dining, this place is not for you. From the basket of Wonderbread and oil(the oil could have been Canola), to a tasty but small plate of tiny scallops, to the ugliest plate of veal marsala ever(veal cut into small pieces, mixed with mushy gnocchi and tasteless mushrooms, all bound together with a pasty, overthickened sauce), to a really below average tiramisu, this meal was a disappointment and in no way resembled Italian food.

We’ve visited this restaurant twice since it opened and the food was great on both occasions. It’s a mix of Italian plus a few other European dishes. The steak au poivre was delicious, as was the shrimp scampi. My only complaint is that the service was a little slow on our second visit. I think that’s because it was Restaurant Week though.

We kicked off Restaurant Week with a visit to La Rosetta and it will certainly not be our last trip. The three of us each ordered something different from the special menu and no one was disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious. The only miscue was my dad’s. He ordered the house salad for an appetizer and had a case of order envy when he tasted the butternut squash soup. The salad was good but let’s be honest, a house salad is a house salad. I highly recommend La Rosetta. In my opinion it has the best Italian food in Fredericksburg and I particularly appreciated the service. So long Castiglia’s…we no longer have to eat average food that comes out of the kitchen one dish at a time. I’ll never have my food get cold again waiting for my dining companions’ meals to arrive.
