At the end of our wedding, we were less than thrilled with his services. For starters, Bill’s email etiquette isn’t the best. He often wrote short, choppy emails that could easily have been misconstrued as snippy or rude. It wasn’t until after I spoke with him over the phone that I realized he’s actually a really nice guy — he just doesn’t come off to professionally in his emails. He is also a little scattered. The last thing a bride wants to do in the few weeks leading up to the wedding is remind one of her vendors of the specifics of their wedding. This is especially true since I sent Bill multiple emails, spreadsheets and a timeline that had all the information spelled out for him. All he had to do was read it. Bill and I disucssed over email that the day of the wedding, he was going to come to the bridal suite to meet me and discuss a final run through of the ceremony. At 4:15pm, I received a text from him saying that he needed a cloth to cover his equipment as it couldn’t sit out in the sun. This is something he should have prepared for himself and not bothered me with. Not to mention, he never did come to meet me or discuss the setup. My husband and I were very detailed about what we wanted at our wedding. We created a spreadsheet of songs that we wanted played at the wedding and a list of when we wanted them played. We did not want typical songs that are played at a wedding as we find them cheesy and painful. Towards the end of our wedding reception, very few of the songs from our list had been played. When I questioned Bill about this, he insisted he played at least half of the songs on our list. Half isn’t what we asked for and it simply wasn’t true. We wanted the entire list. Instead, we got maybe five songs we wanted and a whole bunch of cheesy ones — which guests complained about and no one danced to. It also became clear that the reason he didn’t play the songs is because he didn’t have them in his catalogue. We gave him the list more than a month in advance, which was ample time for him to get the songs. It was very disappointing that he didn’t prepare for our wedding. Finally, the point that really irks me is that he mispronounced our last name when introducing us at the reception. It was mortifying that our family and friends had to shout and correct him. My husband and I made sure to go over the pronunciation of our last name with Bill on the phone and I spelled it phonetically in emails. This was very disappointing. I really struggled with whether or not to post this as I don’t like to write negative reviews but then I remembered how heavily I relied upon reviews when making my vendor decisions. I hope this helps other brides and grooms. owner or employees.
