Nothing but good things to say. I showed up on a Friday at 2:45. I was the only one on the 3:00 tour. The person giving the tour took her time, was friendly, and did an excellent job. The Bourbon is just incredible. I ended up buying a bottle of the Single Barrel. I highly recommend a visit!

This is a great tour of a great spirit. Very knowledgable tour guide, fun to understand the process. While I’m not a fan of strong spirits(give me a beer/ale any day) it was fun to see the production and facilities and taste four samples. One of them was a gin, it was amazing. I ding even like gin. The other favorite, and one I bought to take home with me –the caramel cream bourbon. Move over Baileys(or any other maker of cream whiskers) — this stuff is the bomb. I’m not sure it will make its way home ! A great place for visit if you’re in the area!

My friends and I visited A. Smith Bowman in January 2016. Tours are FREE and run every hour from 10 am to 4 pm. My group arrived slightly after 3 pm, but they allowed us to join the 3 pm tour instead of waiting for the 4 pm tour. Our tour guide was great and extremely informative. After the tour concluded we were brought to the tasting area where we could taste four of their products. Again, the tasting was completely FREE. A++++ They were pouring vodka, gin, small batch bourbon, and the bourbon cream on the day that we visited. All were great, but I walked away with 3 bottles of the bourbon cream. Lastly, I found the prices to be reasonable. For reference, 750 ml of the bourbon cream was $ 19.99, and 750 ml of the small batch bourbon was $ 29.99.

Overall the distillery is ok. Did the tasting and the gentleman who did it didn’t all that interested in pouring for us and almost insulted that we asked questions. The four stars is basically because we enjoy their music and spirits concerts and their whiskey is good.

We really enjoyed our tour and tasting! This place is amazing. A must do! From the moment you enter the building the incredible smell of bourbon is in the air. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered any questions. Lots of great things to buy in their shop too!

Great tour and FREE tasting! Sadly you can only get 4 samples, but hey — its free! I’m tempted to give it 5 stars for that. The tours go every hour, and last almost as long. Not something for everyone, but worth it if you’re fascinated by the distilling process, as well as the history of the place. I can only attest to my 4 samples(2 bourbons, a rye, and a cream that’s a lot like Bailey’s). I normally don’t care for rye but gave it a try(still didn’t do anything for me), but did think both bourbons were smooth. But I left with a bottle of the Caramel Cream; I’m pretty sure dad will enjoy his birthday gift.

Excellent tour. Our guide was both informative and funny. She did a great job walking us through the place. A warehouse filled with thousands of barrels of high end bourbon smells amazing. The samples afterwards were wonderful. Well worth visiting

This is a great educational free tour and beautiful picture taking opportunity. Well worth learning about the process and doing the tasting even(especially?) if you dont think you’re a fan. They have gin and bourbon. A gift shop and can purchase on site.

Went there yesterday. What a fantastic place. They had just finished processing yesterday morning. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with the greatest smell. Took the tour which was very educational and fun. Enjoyed the tasting and the little gift shop. Great place and wonderful people.

This staff is great! I contacted them to inquire about doing something special for my fiancé for his birthday. The tour was fascinating, and although I’m not a bourbon person, I appreciated the«lesson in tasting» we got during the tasting. We also got to meet Brian, the master distiller, who was so friendly, sat with us and talked for a bit, and signed some bottles for my fiancé. Mary was also so helpful in setting things up for me. We will for sure be back with friends!

Great and informative tour(free by law, apparently!). Tour is about an hour, plus time for tastings. Whole place smells like bourbon. See the whole process as done here, from distilling to barreling — and see the inside of the barrels. Interactive and hands on. Highly recommended!

Free tour and small tasting! My husband and I decided to stop by and were immediately greeted by their wonderful staff. The tour ran just over an hour and took you through their entire process and facility. It was very informative — Tom was our guide and absolutely great. We’ll definitely be back with friends and family. They’re starting a concert series in April that should be a lot of fun!

Four of us stopped by on a whim just before closing. Instead of finding staff who were anxious to depart we found a most gracious reception and a wonderful tour. Our tour guide was both gracious and knowledgeable. We will return again to buy their wonderful product and enjoy the smells.

Wonderful tour! We came on a weekday in the middle of the day. Our tour guide, Bill, was friendly and enthusiastic about the distillery. We learned about the history of the distillery, the chemistry behind the distillation process, the uniqueness of bourbon, and of course we learned what some of the spirits tasted like. I highly recommend getting a bottle each of the 10-year bourbon and the gin. FWIW, a member of our group was a chemist and verified that Bill was indeed knowledgeable of the chemistry of distillation and did a good job explaining the science in terms that any schmo off the street(like me) would understand.

Fabulous experience! Tasted 5 spirits, went on a very informative one hour tour, all free no less! Enjoyed the history of the distilling process and had all my questions answered. Gift shop offers sauces and wood for grilling outdoors.
