Delicious chicken! Everything was good and definitely try the salchi-papa.

Had takeout from this place before and went back. It is as advertise, one of the best chicken dish around. The sides are not too shabby either. I highly recommend this place for quick eats.

I finally made it to Sardis Chicken since relocating to Frederick MD. One of the serving staff suggested that the Costillas de Res/Beef Short Ribs was good when I asked which was better that or the Seco de Carne. It was not. It was just okay not worth repeating for the $ 16 dollar price tag. I also got the ½ chicken and that is what they do best I’m thinking it was delicious and so was the Peruvian Fried Rice. I also got the Pupusas, what a different taste definitely not for me.

The best place to try Peruvian chicken and fried rice. Love the sauces.. Affordable. A definite place to try again.

This was my first experience with Peruvian chicken. The food and experience certainly has its place as a worthy competitor among the prepared-in-advance, limited-customization chicken out places like Poulet and the original Boston Market. The food was tasty, the service(well, quasi-self-serve process) was fast and the prices fair. One would not go out of one’s way, but if in the area one definitely can do worse and I have. Sardi’s really could benefit by a new location with a larger and more accessible parking lot. It’s a tight, congested lot in a hard to find location with limited visibility. If it’s my restaurant, I move it and then just count the money.

The best chicken in town! Best bang for your buck food-wise, only $ 9.54 for ¼ chicken and two huge sides and you can’t go wrong with their fried rice and plantains.

This place. oh my god. this place. This is the best chicken from any business I’ve ever had. I got a half chicken and it was more than enough. It was extremely flavorful, juicy, and filling. The best part is that it’s not expensive at all! It comes with 3 different sauces and I reccomend the chicken with all 3. Try them all out and see what you like best. The plantains are delicious and went awesome with the yellow sauce. I also got the peruvian rice and it paired perfectly with everything. That will be my goto lunch every time I go! DONTFORGETTHEDRINK! Ask to sample the mango drink or horchatta. Then get one because it’s delicious!

Wow! This is the best chicken I’ve ever had! Sardi’s is flipping amazing. The place was all-around great, I give high marks on everything. Clean restaurant, great menu selections, friendly & helpful staff, and delucious food. Even the other customers were friendly. A random guy recommended the red sauce as his favorite and rips me to try the salmon next time I’m there. This time, I had chicken and fried plantains. It was a wonderful meal. Almost too much to eat. The red sauce was awesome, and so was the yellow.

Sardi’s serves authentic Peruvian fair. They use charcoal fired rotisserie chicken ovens and grill. When you walk in, the aroma of the charcoal will be sure to please! The food is fresh and tastes amazing! Be sure to try the ceviche!

Possibly the best chain restaurant that I’ve ever dined in. What separates them from the other rotisserie chicken style restaurants is the other menu items. Beef short ribs, flank steak, salmon, lamb, etc. And the sides are all to die for. Very large portions too.

I was finally convinced into going here, and it was actually much better than I expected. Atmosphere– I actually thought this was going to be more of a white tablecloth kind of joint when I heard about it, but turns out it’s more like fast buffet(think like Chipotle). You go up, tell them what you want, and an assembly line puts together your order. Then you go and choose your own seating. There’s nothing really special about any of this. Food– The food overall was great. The chicken(most important part) was awesome. The rice and the beans could use some work, but the plantains and the papusas were on point. I think the pricing was right for what we ordered as well. We paid a little over 40 bucks I believe to feed five people, which is awesome for some good ethnic food. 4⁄5

I expected good, but not GREAT! This place is incredible!?! Great prices, tasty food, fast service(my plate was ready before I was done paying), and the sauce. Oh dear baby Jesus marinated in soy… the s.a.u.c.e. I’ve never smoked crack before, but I imagine the experience is much like consuming the sauces at this restaurant. I’ll be back. Whenever I’m in Frederick this is my #1 choice!

Consistently busy — which is good for quick Peruvian chicken joints. But also a tip for people to order ahead because you WILLWAITINLINE. I don’t think I’ve ever been here when it’s not busy. and I have been a few times. Anyhow — Chicken is phenomenal — juicy, seasoned to perfection, crispy skin, meat melts off the bone. Awesome with anyone of their sauces — blanco, amarillo and rojo. AWESOME!!! Love the smokey, rotisserie style chicken with the hot sauce paired with plantains, yucca, rice, coleslaw, whatever your fancy. MMMM and the rice!!! Best fried rice — is «Spasian» style of course — a hybrid Chinese fried rice mixed w/Spanish or Latin inspired flavors, egg, green onions and pieces of their chicken in a seasoned rice mix. so good. Yucca sometimes doesn’t have the little fibers pulled off — I for one, don’t really care about this but my kids do. Fries are good too though, sometimes they get a little greasy being in the box after 30 minutes when we get it to go. But not their fault, we should eat it while it’s fresh. Other items we have tried — Gyro’s — also awesome– beef/lamb mix with crema, queso fresco and typical fixins but mixed w/Latin style/flair. — Papusas — these are not a menu item as far as I know– owner has a limited batch per day made but BOY are they awesome. If you can get your hands on one or a few — DOTHAT now and get them with some rice or beans. the pork and beans and the cheese ones are my favs. All in all a very nice(but small) restaurant that has some ka-pow in the menu choices and quality of the food being served. I def. recommend it(if you’re in a hurry, do call ahead)

After years of hearing about how wonderful Sardis is, I finally tried some take out from there last week. I will preface this by saying I was incredibly hungry, and as such the first portion of my food slid down my gullet without much attention to taste. However, once I rehinged my jaw and started breathing between bites, the chicken was really darn good. Now, for my dirty secret… if this was a blind taste test, I am not sure I could tell the difference between Sardis chicken and Crisp & Juicy. I know, don’t tell anyone. But one day I’m going to do that comparison and report back. In the meantime, I will concede, it’s good chicken. However, the sides for me weren’t great. I got rice and beans and coleslaw. It was all stuff I could have made at home. The coleslaw was finely chopped, which I guess I don’t do at home… but really, is that enough? No. I’ll get chicken here again, but I likely won’t waste money on the sides. Please don’t hate me. I know everyone raves about this place. But it comes in third place for me in my great Peruvian chicken experiment.

Everybody raves about their chicken(and they’re right to do so), but I found something else on the menu that’s the bomb and I can’t bring myself to order anything else whenever I come to this place. It’s the seco de carne with cannelloni beans. It’s beef short ribs braised in this other-worldly sauce goodness and paired with the most deliciously bean side dish ever. The rice just soaks up all this yumminess and you just can’t get enough(I’m drooling as I write this). Anyway, yes the chicken is excellent but the seco de carne is beyond that. The meat gets so fall-off-the-bone tender. I don’t know how they do that. The onion salad has this strange herby flavor that just goes perfectly with the beef. It’s. Just. So. Good. Ok. Done drooling. Gotta drive there now.

Oh Sardi’s… Your chicken permeates my car on the way home… making me soooo very happy. I accidentally found you a few years ago… looking for a quickie lunch spot while working out of a ground level test kitchen — i know… don’t ask. But Sardi’s…no, you are not Pollo Rico(my dc standard)…but you are… everything that reassures me that Frederick… one day will be… possibly…grow up to be a real city. Sardi’s is a local peruvian rotisserie chain… local chain, this is good! If you are a migrant from the inner beltway, forced to move north for affordable housing you will appreciate that Sardi’s is. an authentic dc peruvian joint. I only comment on their whole chicken, black beans and yellow sauce(amarillo sauce). i have seen patrons in uniform(from fort detrick i presume), recent spanish speakers that call our area home, and us other folks that accidentally(and intentionally) call fredneck home filling out the dinning area. I buy an additional small(or large) container of their yellow sauce — it is my preferred addition to my fish tacos — though my cousin puts it on eggs too! The chicken is marinated and then rotisseried… when ordered a whole chicken they hack it into four pieces, they will cut into eight pieces when asked. They offer black beans(do i remember pinto also?), steak house cut fries, yuca, white rice, peruvian fried rice(love the waters of migration :)) and veg of the day… and i am sure some other side options that I have never considered. i am here for chix chix, black beans and french fries… with extra yellow sauce and really appreciate the extra heat of the green sauce that i dip my extra yellow sauce into. So good… you will be happy with Sardi’s. And Frederick Alderman… i really hope that you do not demise the golden mile with… your walmart super center plans!!.
