Almost 7 months ago I ended up in Frederick Memorial Hospital with a trimalleolar ankle fracture. I was in tremendous pain and very scared and at the mercy of whatever surgeon was on call that day. Thank heavens it was Dr. Kowalk! He explained the injury to me very well and the surgery that was highly recommended/necessary to fix it. My surgery went smoothly with screws and plates installed and he monitored my recovery as well. As early as 3 months after the surgery I was back to taking walks and shortly thereafter was back to vigorous activity at the gym. My ankle is as close to perfect as I can imagine after such a serious injury. I am forever grateful for the person who fixed it. He did a tremendously good job.

Dr. Fisher replaced both of my knees and I can’t imagine having anyone else do this. When I’m looking for a surgeon I’m looking for the most competent individual and I have complete confidence in Dr. Fisher. I chose him because he’s the best at what he does.

You have to be kidding! When I choose a physician I do not base my judgment on personal appearance, bedside manner, or personality. I choose to select someone who has the ultimate experience, knowledge, and judgment. Dr. Fisher is conservative; he will not operate unless/until it is necessary. I have UTMOSTRESPECT for Doctor Fisher… he MAKES the practice!

I’ll agree about Dr. Fisher… no personality and won’t even look you in the eye. In addition, he told me I wasn’t bad enough to need a knee replacement, despite all the pain I was in. I got a second opinion elsewhere, and that doctor could hardly believe I was even walking, since my knee was bone on bone! I’ve heard Dr. Grandia is wonderful, but, be aware, she may do your sugery, but Dr. Fisher could end up being the dr on call afterwards(happened to a friend).

This is a good practice with great Physician Assistants and mostly good doctors. The only drawback is Robert Fisher, MD, a burned out, miserable human being who should have been a computer specialist or TV repairman. Dr. Grandia is a lovely person with a great bedside manner.
