Milex Complete Auto Care

The short: I brought my Subaru there for a state inspection. They failed it and said it needed $ 5,000.00 in repairs. I brought it to Frederick Subaru dealership and they passed it saying no problems were found.
The long: I brought my 2006 Subaru Impreza Outback here for a state inspection after moving from NH so I could register my car. I told them my engine coolant appeared empty and asked if they could top it off and change my oil in addition to the inspection.
After the inspection I was told a head gasket had blown and was quoted $ 2,000 to fix that. My inspector said coolant was leaking everywhere. He said I should also change my clutch which would cost $ 3,000. Keep in my the car is worth $ 6,000 total on the high end so this sparked concern that a mechanic wanted to do work that was equal to the value of the car.
I told him not to do any of the work. I refilled the coolant and drove for a week, a couple trips from Frederick to Baltimore to see if the reservoir was emptying out quickly. I never found any sings of leakage under my car when parked for long periods and the reservoir didn’t seem to be depleting.
That’s when I brought my car to the Frederick Motor Company Subaru Dealership and asked for a quote on fixing a head gasket leak. I was quoted $ 1,200-$ 1,400 compared to Milex’s $ 2,000. The dealership cost less than this place! I also told them that Milex suggested replacing my clutch since I was at 98,000 miles, the dealership told me that it should last for 200,000 miles before needing replacement. I asked them to inspect my car and they found nothing at fault with it.
This place tries to rip you off. Make sure to go elsewhere.

I came here to pick up a 1972 VW Beetle for one of my customers. This was my first time here. The manager was super nice. The owner of the VW beetle was happy with their service and apparently brings all of his cars here. Based on my first impressions I would bring my personal cars to milex too

It is really hard to find an HONEST TRUSTWORTHY MECHANIC these days. If you want QUALITY, COMMITMENT and HONESTY this is the place. I service all of my Trucks with Albert and this guy is who you want. I always receive GREAT WORKMANSHIP, and a STRAIGHT FORWARD report with out any BS! He has kept our Company Trucks in top shape for over 5 YEARS now and thats key for our Business to Function Properly.
Albert and his Crew are a great to deal with he never let me down with my vehicles and anyone I have Referred to him, I always get a «Thanks for referring that guy» from my friends.
On a side note he is an H2 GURU amongst many other makes and models.
I hope to keep my fleet Serviced wit Mr. Daniels for MANY years to come.

Albert (the owner) is a rock solid, honest guy. The shop does great work, on time and as promised. They’ve worked on all our cars with no issues, including Ford’s, Honda’s, Mini’s and even my Lotus Elise. Prior to starting his own shop, Albert ran the Performance Division at Criswell, so he’s the ‘go-​to’ guy for a lot of the Corvette and Lotus drivers in the Frederick area.

Albert (the owner) is the best. My family has been going to him exclusively for a few years, since we discovered his shop. He gives his honest opinion and never tries to give us service we don’t absolutely need. He’s a great guy, and we trust him with all our vehicles.
