J & R Moving Company

Was on time but was not prepared as they should have been. They didn’t bring boxes that I requested. They were careless with my furniture. I have a few items missing but the owner never contacted me back about this matter. The workers complained almost the entire time. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Jermaine came highly recommended and I was not disappointed. He and his partner were very kind, professional and highly careful with handling my things. So glad I called him!!!

I have used J & R moving company on 3 separate occasions in 2012 (twice), 2013, and I will be using them again in a couple of months. I have been remiss in not writing a review about them sooner, but this company is nothing short of extraordinary. In 2012, I sold my house in Frederick, MD to move into a smaller place. I consigned a 8 person dining room table and the consignment shop used J & R to come pick up the table. They brought a 3 person team to pick up the table and the care they demonstrated in taking the table apart and moving it from my home, impressed me so much that I hired them on the spot for my move which took place a few months later. They moved me from Frederick, MD to Bowie MD and a year later to another part of southern, Maryland.
This is a locally owned small business, but they exhibit care and experience with moving your items and treat them as if they were their own. They are also super quick and very inexpensive. They moved me over an hour away, they broke down my furniture, reassembled my furniture, and successfully moved several fragile pieces without damaging anything. They even connected my electronics. I will be moving again in a couple of months (hence my thought to write this review now) and I will be using them again, 2 years after my last move. Jermaine and his crew are that good.
