This review is only for the starnight maze and the hay ride of horror. if I only did the hay ride this would be 4 or even 5 stars. However, I did the starnight maze which seemes like a total waste of $ 10, all I paid for was some dumb wristband which there was no one at the entrance to even check. I could have just paid for the hay ride and done the maze for free. Anyway, the hay ride was really fun and worth the money, but maybe not the 1 and a half hour line. If you just want to do the hay ride or one of the other horror attractions just pay for the fast passes to avoid the lines.

The prices here are great– gourds are $ 0.50 apiece, and pumpkins are $ 0.50 per lb. And the staff is super nice. And they had white pumpkins and giant green gourds, which are interesting. This is a great place to get fall home decorations. However, having never been here before, there wasn’t the greatest signage, and we totally missed the pick your own pumpkin patch. We had no idea how to take a hayride, and the rest of the stuff looked like it required tickets, which was cash only and there was a big line to purchase. Very disappointing. Plus, they didn’t have a market, just a snack bar type thing. I was hoping to buy Apply Cider, donuts, etc… I wouldn’t go back here, even though it’s close to home. I’d rather go to Catoctin Mountain Orchard…

I brought my husband here because he LOVES scary stuff! I am NOT a fan of horror or anything of that nature but it was for him. I gave five stars because it was an experience I never had! It was at night and the fog was a perfect setting for a horror film. The hay ride was not scary but I was terrified thinking what could be lurking in the corn fields. This is not a cheap production and I was very impressed with the actors staying in character. I did scream during the corn maze. n/but what just abnout made me cry was the haunted barn! I seriously had tears in my eyes and wanted OUT! Great make up, characters, music, effects. I can go on and on. Now, I know I am easy to scare since I don’t watch horror movies. I knew what to expect but this place was scray! My hubby raved about it and didn’t expect much. So if he was impressed then I know it was good. He was happy that I did this for him. I am happy that he now understands I really do get scared!

We took Friday afternoon off to have a fun, silly anniversary celebration by going to Crumland Farms to eat candied apples and pick pumpkins and try to get lost in the corn maze. First off, for a Friday afternoon two weeks before Halloween, this place was a ghost town… and not in that fun, scary Halloween way. The concession stand was not open(the only way I got my husband to go was the promise of a candied apple), the ticket booth was not open(so we got to go for free…), and it was next to impossible to find someone who worked at the Farm. If you’re going to advertise hours, I’d suggest that you’re actually operating during those hours. The pumpkin selection was meh, we didn’t get the candied/caramel apples we desired, we finished the corn maze in ten minutes, even after trying to get lost. If I had known, I wouldn’t have wasted time and gas money to travel up from DC to visit this farm. Incredibly disappointing.

Straight from the website: «Crumland Farms is a 550-acre farm in Frederick Maryland that offers a a variety of fall activities including a pumpkin patch, corn maze, blah blah blah» … sounds enticing right? Roam around in a corn maze during the night time and get lost? WRONG. It’s kinda hard to get lost in a cornfield that’s only waist-high. Darn, I was anticipating to use my GPS too. A cornfield with no corns… I brought my knife for nothing! *sad face* Horrible way to spend a Halloween.

What a dump. AFTER we paid to get in, we were told they had almost no staff for the day. That means: No hayride, unless you’re willing to chase down the one guy working and ask him nicely if he’ll fire up the tractor. No corn cannon. See above. Two of the six or eight pedal buggies were working. As was the water for the ‘duck race’(which was kinda pointless, anyway). The kids could feed the goats, which they enjoyed. Too bad none of the faucets worked and all the hand sanitizer was gone. The trash all over the ground really added to the experience. After pointing all this out, the person at the gate just shrugged their shoulders. They may as well have been wearing masks and taken money at gunpoint. Never again.

We held a family birthday party at Crumland in the fall. It was a great experience from start to finish! Our home base was in the picnic table pavilion. From there we were all able to enjoy the corn maze, corn cannon, pedal carts, giant slide, etc. The party was enjoyed by all(a group of adults, actually but kids would enjoy the farm too). We can’t wait to return to Crumland for some more fall fun!

This is a fun fall destination for kids… pumpkin patch, corn cannons, a barrel train, a huge slide, lots of small playgrounds, and best of all, something I refer to as the«goat monorail,» although that’s not entirely accurate as the goats actually perambulate the elevated rail on their own power, sans train. You can also pay for a small handful of goat food that you convey up to the goats using a pulley. Kudos to the engineering genius who crafted this endlessly entertaining little wonder. I went one year for the Christmas light show and was disappointed. It was expensive and driving through the display took literally about 5 minutes. I guess I am just used to the Winter Lights at Seneca Creek State Park in Germantown, which is cheaper and significantly longer.
