I’ve been here before, but never reviewed it… shame on me. After trying several other pizza joints in Frederick… I think we have finally settled on that this as our official pizza spot! Pizza is baked in a 900 degree oven. They are nice a thin… crispy and delicious. They offer several sizes which is perfect for us to order a large for all the kids and a small for the hubby and I. We like to do a small so we can also share a salad. We had the coal fire salad with thick cut bacon, tomato and a honey mustard dressing. It was a good sized salad… so hubby and I shared… sort of… I think I ate significantly more, I know this because as I sopped up the last bit of dressing and bacon with my toasty bread, I caught him staring at me funny. I didn’t care. Then they let you choose between their original pizza sauce, a sweet signature sauce or heir spicy sauce. I ten to favor the sweet sauce… but the spicy sauce hit the spot too. Service has always been great… and food comes out quickly. The prices are also very fair. They also have a bar area… if you want to grab a bite away from the families… just in case that’s your thing. But all around a must try while in Frederick!!!

Awesome place! Lauren was bartending, she was so personable and her drinks were on point! I’ve turned into a regular! Not to mention, it’s my favorite pizza and the grilled Caesar is amazing! Love this place

Great Pizza! Always looking for non-chain pizza places that offer a unique«big oven» style of cooking. I have been going here for 3 years and my wife begs to go here every date night. The atmosphere is great as well and employees are very friendly. The prosciutto cippolla is my absolute favorite. It has the signature sauce that everyone raves about topped with slices of prosciutto. I suggest this place to anyone checking out restaurants in the wormans mill shopping center! Only reason why I had to give it 4 stars is because occasionally, the pizza is a little TOO«charred to perfection.» Gives it a slightly burnt and bitter taste but has only happened a few times out of the many many times I have visited.

if you plan on dining in the Bar area(area not at the bar) and want to take advantage of the deals, you will be asked to leave. The bartender was outright rude and the manager was just as rude. The Outback and Madrones allow you to sit in the bar area and watch sports, tv, etc. but since our daughter was under 21 we were asked to dine in the restaurant. We have dined in the bar area(at a table and NOT at the bar) for the last 5 years and now all of a sudden they said we could not dine with a minor. Really? Too many other great places in Frederick that are more friendly and will allow patrons to dine at table in the bar.

Have only been to this location and always have a good experience. You get seated right away and the staff is nice… the food does take a bit of time but the pizza is made fresh so that’s understandable. The signature sauce is the best, it’s sweet and a bit spicy which is a great combination. The crust is super thin and crispy which I love and all of the vegetable toppings are good. The onion rings are also pretty good but didn’t like the chicken wings as they were boiled.

This company might wanna consider hiring competent employees. Pizza took over a half hour to get to me. Bartender was inattentive and didn’t know how to make a jaeger bomb… how are you a bartender? My unborn son could make that. Bad service and mediocre, pricey food

Thought this place would be so good. Heard so many good things about it . Hubby ordered pizza. I got pasta. The pizza was OKAY. We’ve had better. And the pasta was alright. I didn’t finish it so I took the rest Togo but after we left and got home. It made me really sick. So I definitely tossed the leftovers . Probably won’t be back especially when there are so many other places that we’d rather go to.

I tried them for the first time a few weeks ago. Picked up the wife for lunch and I wanted to go somewhere ice not tried before. What a pleasant surprise. The pizza was really good and I loved the different sauces that have. Will definitely go again. The service was good, but it wasn’t very busy when we went so I can’t comment on how they do when busy.

Absolutely loved the pizza here. I got a 16″ pepperoni and a 12″ white pizza. Both were terrific! It’s a bit pricey for a pizza joint, but it turned out to be worth it.

I am a crazy carnivore and do not usually go for anything that does not contain meat. Well, Coal Fire proved to me that pizza with just cheese and excellent tomato sauce can be delicious, too! The thin pizza crust is tasty and is cooked perfectly. The sauce that they use is better than anything I’ve tried before. Needless to say that if you’ve nailed the first two items, everything else no matter how authentic is going to taste absolutely great on top of that! They have a great selection of local beers as well.

First time I visited Coal Fire pizza. To be honest the pizza was just«EH». I was expecting a little more flavor in the sauce and the crust was bland. Service was great and the speed that we received our food at lunchtime was good.

I ordered the 9″ pizza with the sweet sauce & a side of fries. The pizza had good flavor, but was a bit doughy in the center. Fries were cooked just right with a skinny board walk style cut. Service was good. Bathroom was out of hand soap which is why I only rated @ 4 stars.

I always have good service at this location. Servers are nice and the food comes out pretty fast. They’re timely with taking your order even when they’re busy. The restaurant is designed similarly to other locations I’ve visited. Unfortunately, some of the tables for two are wedged between larger tables. As a result, there isn’t much privacy when you are dining for two. The restaurant is always clean and bright which I appreciate. My favorite appetizer is the Calamari. They make it with jalapeños and peppers and no dipping sauce is needed! I also like the baked wings with onions and pita bread. I’m normally a fan of pizza with lots of sauce. Coal Fire pizza isn’t saucy, but I love it! The crust is rather thin so it has just the right amount of sauce and cheese for that type crust. The Ring of Fire pizza is amazing so give it a try if you can handle a little heat.

If you like thin crust, you’ll like the pizza at Coal Fire. If you’re not a fan of thin crust, you probably should pick a different pizza joint to hit up. The sauce is a little sweet for my taste(even the spicy versions) but it matches fairly well with prosciutto, red peppers, and fresh basil. It would be nice if they had a few more topping options(perhaps eggplant or some other vegetables), but the available toppings are fairly solid choices. Every time I’ve been to Coal Fire, I’ve sat at the bar, so this review is exclusively focused on that side — but the bar service has been impeccable. Beer selection is small but well chosen(relying pretty heavily on Flying Dog beers), pizza is very quick to come out, and the non-pizza options(including salads and pasta) are typically tasty if you’re in to that.

It’s hard to go wrong with a pizza place, right? The place looks nice and we had a very bubbly waitress. We decided to go about a week ago during lunch on Saturday. There was only one other table occupied– not a good sign. The pizza was OK. Nothing special and skimpy on the cheese. For the price I was hoping for something better than Little Caesars. Mu hubby got a pasta dish that he didn’t even bother to finish… and that’s saying something. When our bill came, my husband promptly but down his card, but it took a good 10 – 12 minutes for the waitress to come take our money. By that point, we were so done and just wanted to leave. This is not a place we’ll never go back to. Frederick has so many amazing restaurants– this wasn’t one of them.
