A Burlington coat factory guys??? Holy hell! About a year ago I predicted the resurrection of the Towne Mall. The time is upon us, we will see the revival of a hidden gem here in middletown.

The mall itself is only about two stars, but I threw in a bonus star for the Elder Beerman clearance outlet. That place had some amazing deals… got a normally $ 90 Calvin Klein sweater for $ 14! The store was also very organized and well staffed with friendly people… a rarity for a discount store! Other than that… well the mall has gone downhill from what I remember as a kid, but it is still hanging in there I suppose. You have a regular Elder Beerman(the clearance center is attached), an old-fashioned Sears(also seemed to be running as a clearance center), and a handful of stores. There were a surprisingly decent number of people milling about, especially in Elder Beerman and Bath & Body Works. I’m sure Dayton Mall, the Monroe Outlets, and the new mall opening in West Chester are killing this place, but I think they could still find a niche as a «bargain» mall with the right management. Evidently Burlington Coat Factory is taking over the old Dillards soon, which is definitely a step in the right direction.

This is exactly what old malls look like when they’re on their last legs. The 2nd and 3rd tier merchants have now set up shop, you know the ones that normally occupy strip malls that once housed a Kmart. It is kind of sad because I used to go to this mall back in its heyday. It was a place with lots of great stores. I would expect that someday soon the place will get razed as the price of the land it sits on far out paces the value of it’s buildings… maybe residential could take its place???

This place is just depressing. Nearly completely empty. We call it Ghost Towne Mall. The city shouldve torn it down and made it an outdoor shopping center like they talked about doing years ago.

This is known around the area as the zombie mall because there are only a couple of stores open, the rest are closed and have the door cages down. Its pretty spooky, even during day

I’m actually trying to ponder if Towne Mall is worse than Cincy Mills mall… Kind of a toss up actually. There’s a Sears, with a very limited selection, and an Elder-Bearman, a Bath and Body Works, and a Vitamin World… That’s it… I’m not even sure if there 3 snack places could constitute a food court. Unless you need to go to Sears or E-B… I would probably avoid this place, as it seems everyone else does too…

I don’t think this should still be called a mall. More like an eyesore. Maybe almost qualifies as a flea market. Sears, Elder Beerman, Bath and Body Works, Vitamin World, Family Christian Store, Dunham Sports… that’s about it. Don’t waster your time!

Dead mall… like 8 stores left out of a former 70 or whatever. Tear it down… there is a Dunhams there for sporting goods, but nothing else. This mall use to thrive and always be packed. The owners have let it die off for some reason…

Ok Middletown, I know you’re not exactly the most cosmopolitan town in Ohio but is Towne Mall really the best shopping you have to offer? My little brother goes to school in Middletown so I used to kill time at Towne Mall before picking him up from after-school activities. The mall is right off the highway and is conveniently located by most of Middletown’s restaurants and hotels. Towne Mall features three anchor stores: Dillards, Sears, and Elder Beerman. The Dillards is actually pretty decent, it appears to me that no one actually shops at Middletown and therefore this Dillards has every size and color of every shirt and shoe available when Tri-County and Kenwood are sold out. The mall features quite a few signally owned shops but none that I have been in are even worth talking about. Radioshack, Vitamin World, and Bath and Body Works are the only real«staples» that this mall has. The only part of Towne Mall that is ever somewhat crowded is the pathetic food court, which features a KFC, Gold Star, and a popcorn stand.
