I love this place! The food is awesome… My new fav is the Angel Roll… But the ppl are so nice!!! Pretty sure I’ve been to all the Japanese places in Franklin, Brentwood and Nashville and this is my go to place!

Really amazing sushi. Good service. Friendly staff. They have a great menu, and even an all you can eat option(if you are really hungry). It’s hidden, and I would’ve never noticed it if it wasn’t for Unilocal and other reviews. Worth checking out. Some of the best sushi I’ve had in Tennessee.

This is EASILY not only the best sushi in Nashville… But this is legitimately as good as sushi can get. This place is absolutely a hidden gem. I am constantly telling people to make the drive to Franklin to see for themselves.

If you’re looking for ambiance and a place to enjoy people watching this is not for you, but if you’re just looking for affordable, amazing sushi this is the place. What it lacks for in style it makes up in quality and then some. If you’re hungry the all you can eat sushi is a great option. They offer soups, salads, apps, entrees, regular sushi options, and special rolls on the all you can eat menu for $ 20. It’s a bit off the beaten path of downtown franklin, but if you’re in he areas would recommend checking it out:

Fresh nigiri, rolls and sashimi. All u can eat lunch specials. Just a bit outside the hustle of Dwntn Franklin. Enjoyed every morsel. Minus one star for a bit of a language barrier. Have patience, u won’t regret.

I have given them 3 chances, and still disappointed every time. I love the idea of all you can eat sushi for less than $ 20 but you have to give yourself so much time. The wait time for service and delivery was bad every time. The last time, there were only 3 other tables there before me, and it still took us almost an hour to order, get our food, and leave. The Nigiri is way full of rice with very little fish. The proportion to off from what I am used to. Maki is fine but last time my fish felt warmer than what I like the fish to be. Don’t bother unless you have plenty time on your hands and you don’t mine the Nigiri has very thin and small slices of fish cuts.

Great service first of all very attentive, second the sushi is the best in the whole nashville area. I went for lunch so not sure much about dinner, all you can eat can’t beat that and usually all you can eat place are nasty, but this place love it. I eat alot of sushi this place has the taste of fresh fish i give it 5 star.

We went here on a Saturday night, largely because of the rave reviews. After having been here, I wonder if people in Franklin simply don’t understand good sushi, as it was not an experience I will ever repeat. So, it is Saturday night around the normal time a restaurant should be busy. There are about 3 or 4 tables full and 1 person at the sushi bar. This is normally a hint the food and/or service is horrible. But we stayed. My wife ordered rolls and, just for the heck of it, I decided to order the all you can eat special. They had a sign on the door looking for a waitress and there was only one waitress serving the entire restaurant(guess it was a good thing it was slow?). Impression? The rice was a cut above supermarket sushi(if you love supermarket sushi, then you can stop reading right now, as you won’t get this). It is possible they overcooked the rice and it sat out a bit too long, but rice is very important to good sushi, and the rice was marginal. We then have the cuts of fish. Much of them are precut and they are rather small. I thought maybe it was the«all you can eat»(fill them on rice, not fish), but we saw other platters going out with very thin cuts. If it is the norm for Shiki, it is too thin(although many sushi restaurants screw things up by cutting too thick). I was not as worried about the thin fish(too much rice to fish ratio) as I was about precut portions. NOTE: In the best sushi restaurants, the chef will often cut off the outside portion if it has been sitting around too long. You can do this with precut slices. Nashville(franklin) is not the mecca of sushi. I realize that. But there are better places to go for sushi in the area. I hope I just hit an off night and the place is normally better. But the slow crowd, advertising in Groupon, lack of service staff, etc., are all signs a restaurant is having a hard time. And hard times often push people to cut corners, which further exacerbates their problems.

I thought that this place could be my go to sushi joint in Franklin. I’m from Los Angeles so I definitely had great expectations based on other reviews. This place is definitely not the best but it’s a good deal for $ 13 all you can eat sushi. The only thing is I didn’t really want to eat that much sushi. It’s all rolls and such and even though they have some nigiri style, it’s nothing that great. I may come back, I may not but it definitely was worth the money for lunch.

We wanted sushi late Sunday evening. Our usual sushi restaurant is closed on Sunday. So we decided to try a new place based on Unilocal’s rating. Shiki has a rating of +4 stars for 90+ reviews. I didn’t read the reviews as it was late in the evening. As we got there at 8 pm, there were a few customers. The menu has an All You Can Eat option for $ 21. We were a little leary of the All You Can Eat quality. But what the heck, the place has a +4 rating. Why not? This review is based on our experience of the All You Can Eat option. The seaweed and avocado salads were good, just the standard, nothing special. The miso soup was also good, another standard similar to other restaurants. The tofu in the soup was cut really tiny. My first thought was that it must be labor consuming. You couldn’t really taste it in the soup. On the first order, we had the Shiki and Godzilla rolls. We also ordered several tuna, yellow tail, and red snapper nigiri sushi. The rolls were well done. The nigiri sushi was small, with very thinly sliced fish filet. We noticed that the fish on the rolls were thinly sliced as well. If you like the idea of eating sushi and trying a variety of rolls, it’s a great idea. It’s nice to see that they don’t have cream cheese in the rolls. Only one deep fried roll on the All You Can Eat option. That’s another plus. The fish quality seemed to be fresh. The rice was well cooked, not hard nor soggy. The avocado and other ingredients were fresh as well. However, if you eat sushi because you like the raw fish, you don’t get much of a bite with the All You Can Eat option. Biting into each piece, you can barely taste the fish or feel the fish texture. With the nigiri sushi, you have to eat the rice as well or be charged the waste fee per piece. You can certainly get $ 21 or more worth of food. But if you like that bite and taste of a piece of raw fish, you might want to skip this option.

As a rule, Middle Tennessee does not have good sushi, but this was the best we have had here by far! Mind you, it isn’t California sushi, nor is it Atlanta sushi, but when in Franklin, this is as close as it gets! We could not believe what an amazing deal the special was! They offer a great deal of food for a low price. Arrive hungry! When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, which was a little unusual. The service was great, and our waiter was wonderful. I would definitely go back.

I have been passing Shiki for over a year now, as who would consider eating sushi in a non descript strip mall off of Colombia Highway. However, after repeatedly seeing solid reviews on Shiki I decided to give it a try. The interior atmosphere is as was expected; large room with lots of booths lining the walls and tables scattered throughout. Not much to look at, but it appeared tidy and clean. I took a seat at the sushi bar and was promptly greeted by both the wait staff and the sushi chef. I only tried the sushi and rolls so this review is limited to that. The various rolls were generous in size and tasted fresh. They looked and smelled appealing and the texture was nice. I tried the spicy tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and crab and was not disappointed. Clearly not the best sushi I have ever had, or even the best in Williamson County but the place is a great value and a pleasant experience. I would recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner and giving it a try.

Why I think it’s the best traditional sushi in middle Tennessee is because of the simplicity and proportions. They have Americanized rolls if you really want them, but the sashimi and sushi are the way to go. The vinegar balance in the rice, the petite raw fish atop it, the wonderful fresh flavors. This is what real sushi is. Don’t get me wrong, I like to explore sushi with fruit, nuts and cream cheese, but if you’re looking for sushi like they have in Japan, this is your spot. Andy is one of the friendliest sushi chefs and managers around. I eat here 2 – 3 a week every week. Can’t speak highly enough about this place.

I went to Shiki tonight with my husband. It was as awesome as it usually is. Perfect sushi! Fabulous service! I am never disappointed. My 17 year old daughter wanted to try sushi a couple of weeks ago so I took her and she loved it so much, she went back with her friends the next day! One dessert you must try is the tempura fried Oreos. They were to die for!

Is it the best sushi… no but its better than average and the special is awesome. We all know sushi can get expensive and for $ 19.95 u can eat all you want and its not buffet, its fresh. Thats pretty hard to beat. They have a wide variety of salads, nigiri, rolls and appetizers to choose from. The nigiri alone can get expensive(nigiri is fish on top of a rice ball). I probably ate 50 dollars worth of sushi for 20. And my son did the same. So $ 100 bucks worth of sushi for $ 45 thats a major deal. A special roll alone at most places is $ 10 bucks or more. The outside is nothing special but the inside is nice. Go and enjoy I will say dont get the mackerel whatever you do. It was bad but the rest of the nigiri was slightly above average. Mackerel is hard to get good almost anywhere thou. Ken’s sushi is the only exception i have had.

For the Franklin area, this is one of the better establishments. The bigger concern here is consistency. First two times, they deserved a 4 – 5 star ratings, the remaining 3 times, it was a miss. It seems like they«let it go», and not in the Frozen Elsa way that’s fantastic. Pros: –Good portion sizes –Fair pricing –Nice variety on menu including AYCE sushi lunch buffets Cons: –Location is out of the way –Freshness of fish is a hit or miss –Service can be a hit or miss Overall, if I don’t feel like driving all the way across Nashville, this place should stomp my cravings for now.

Awesome Sushi! This is one of our frequent lunch spots and the best sushi ever! They have an all you can eat lunch menu. You can order as many things off of that menu for one price. The only catch is you are charged a dollar extra for each piece you leave so it pays not to over order. My favorite roll is the Volcano Roll. which is a deep fried tuna and crab roll. The tuna sushi and spicy tuna roll are a very close second favorite. The tuna is so fresh and delicious. This lunch special comes with soup and salad. If you want something other than what’s on the lunch menu there is a larger selection on the regular menu. The dining atmosphere is comfortable and works for everything from work lunch to date night. The staff is always friendly and great at making sure you have everything you need. I can’t wait to bring my husband one night.

I have now truly found the best FRESHRAWFISH in town! When I say I am born and raised from Oahu, Hawaii grew up on the freshest of fish that says a lot. They do not skimp on the fish, they use less rice which I love! That gives you an opportunity to taste the fish, taste the other ingredients. This place looks so tiny as if you would be crammed in this place like sardines, but once you walk in this place has a wide open space and very very very clean! I am a lover of sushi, a lover of raw tuna and being so far from the Pacific Ocean there is no way possible to get fish that tastes this good! The servers and sushi chefs are so friendly and willing to make great recommendations to you if your unsure of something. I will be back here and not waste my time on other sushi JOINTS this is my new spot!!! FYI: they have a lot of people walking in for pick up through out my meal! They take so much pride in separating all your cold/warm dishes!
