Probably the best Mexican in Franklin. It’s a tiny little place, that leaves a bit to wish for in the ambiance department, but the food is delicious!

Some of the best in Nashville area! Love it! Nachos are good. Queso is great. Chips am salsa great. Vegetable fajitas are a close second to Uncle Julio’s in Texas. The owner and the staff are first rate.

We made a run down to Franklin to get a couple items from Sprouts Market. It was around 8pm and we needed to find a place for dinner. We stopped at Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant but there was a live performance and they said they were ‘sold out’. So we come here, to Pueblo Real. The place is located in a little strip mall. The parking lot was pretty full, and it being 8pm on a Wednesday night, I think all the cars were there for this place. The inside is small and cramped in my opinion. We were greeted warmly at sat at a table by the bar. Our server was a middle aged woman, most of the servers there were. We ordered drinks and some guacamole to go with he chips and salsa. I’m not sure if it was because the place is so loud, I mean, it seemed like people were yelling in the place. It was hard to have a conversation with someone at your table. Maybe the loudness was the reason the guacamole never came. Our server the whole night seemed out of it. I don’t know if it was tiredness or what. But she stopped by a total of 3 times, once for drinks, to bring drinks, and the check. She didn’t stop by after the food was brought out to check on if everything was right. Just kind of lousy service. Speaking of service, sitting next to the bar was annoying because the other staff stayed behind the bar, horsing around. One guy kept poking and playing around with other female staff, then throwing around place mats. Anyway, I wasn’t really impressed. The food. I ordered the ‘South West Quesadilla’. It’s supposed to come with fries, but I asked for rice and beans instead. Phillip got the enchiladas with pork. The quesadilla was good, not great. I thought the chicken seemed like it was grilled and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The quesadilla didn’t have much of a Mexican flavor, maybe that was the ‘south west’ in the dish. The rice and beans were the standard Mexican restaurant fare. The enchilada sauce was really salty. The pork on the enchiladas was the only redeeming quality of the dish.

Best Mexican food in town!!! I like seafood fajitas and their dessert is absolutely delicious. They are always busy — if you do not want to wait better go in after lunch time or right before dinner time so you will not wait for 30 mins.

Awesome strawberry margaritas! We were in town last weekend from Chicago and wanted to try some place local and not stuffy like the downtown Franklin places. this place did not disappoint! It was very packed on a Saturday night but our wait was a short one. Food was delish and the drinks weren’t skimpy on the alcohol. I can’t wait for another trip back to Tennessee and hopefully a stop here for dinner!

Ugh wish I could give no stars! Terrible food. My chicken was like the old processed chicken«breast» stripes they use to serve at fast food joints in the 90’s and my Marg was so bad I had to send it back and get wine. I truly feel sympathy for those of you that think this is good Mexican. I’d much rather make the 50 mile trek to Hendersonville to eat at Casa Vieja then ever return here!

First time at Pueblo Real. The restaurant was clean and inviting. The guacamole was very good. Had the veggie fajitas. It was a huge portion. They had good flavor but did not come with the guacamole salad I am used to getting at other restaurants. Not sure if they just forget it or it isn’t included but with all the flavor of the veggies I didn’t feel l needed it so I didn’t even ask. I really really liked the rice too. Very good flavor. And I’m happy to report that they had nice size paper napkins. Was even given extra napkins without asking. :)

Didn’t really get all the hipe about this place. Went there and tried the chicken and steak fajitas. They were ok. Kinda spiced with chili powder, certainly wouldn’t say they were the best I’ve ever had and some people thought this place was the best in Nashville? Next time I will try something else. Our waiter wasn’t on her game, took forever to get our order. Finally got our drinks. She insisted on sweeping and mopping right next to our table and everybody else’s. When I signed the check she reached right over me and said I will get that. Like she was looking at her tip before we got up. Yeah she got about 10% and was lucky for that.

Really enjoyed my return to Pueblo Real. The furniture, lighting, and ambience is everything you could want in a real deal neighborhood Mexican recipe. The management and staff are friendly and engaging. Although the place was jammed, you do not feel rushed or hectic. Hidden in a roadside dated strip mall, the outdoor dining experience is not for the faint of heart, the bar is three deep and the waiting area the size of a postage stamp. No matter, the line is out the door. The chips need some work, as does the table salsa, but the disappointment stopped there. Chile relleno was quite tasty, as was the chicken quesadilla. Prompt and attentive table service by folks that want you to enjoy your food, experience, and have a fun time.

Delicious margaritas and attentive waiter. Everyone was smiling and welcoming– has a great family feel and clean restaurant. Portions were large, fresh, and scrumptious! I got the spinach enchiladas and they were loaded with spinach and had a very good quality white cheese sauce(not runny, just perfect!) Salsa was fresh and chips were hot! Would definitely return– loved the military surplus store next door too! Planning on visiting their other location, Tito’s, in Spring Hill, too!

Wow! Being a gringo i felt awkward not speaking Spanish but soon found out that didn’t matter, they made sure i got everything i wanted. You order, get a drink from the cooler and then eat. Pay when you leave. Beware the orange sauce and the red sauce with seeds unless you like molten lava pouring from your mouth! But its good, sooo good! This taco shop is unorthodox but so well worth it!

Really more 4 and a half than 4, but Unilocal hates halfs unless they give them. The salsa is some of the best I have had in the state and all the standard fare is as fresh as one rarely expects at family run Mexican joints. No shortcuts in ingredients at all… anywhere. Our local go to Mexican.

Upon first entering this establishment I was greeted by typical Mexican restaurant décor. The hosts was quick to say hello and seat myself and a friend at a table. It took our server quite some time to come by. During the 5 minutes of pondering I noticed how small the table was. There was barely enough room for myself and my dining companion to sit across from one another. While having drinks delivered we also received our chips, salsa and queso. Salsa was bland — not enough cilantro. Queso was blah as well. I ordered an al a carte burrito. I can not eat a lot so I prefer to stick with the option. It was nasty. Red sauce on top tasted like thick salt water and the chicken inside was tough. Maybe some of their main entrees are better. But I will likely not return to find out.

Friday late afternoon, wife calls and asks what I want for dinner in Franklin. «Not sure,» I say, «but I need something comfortable and filling. I’m not in the mood for plastic chairs and bright lights.» She thinks for a minute and says, «We’ll meet you at Pueblo Real.» «Perfect,» I say. That’s my 4 star review of Pueblo Real.

Our family loves Pueblo Real! The guacamole is AWESOME! It’s a bit on the spicy side(FYI). I love anything chicken, our sons love the Colorado Burrito, my husband LOVES the fajitas, and cannot speak more highly of how tasty they are. He stated that the Colorado is just a bit too spicy for him. The only caveat we have ever run into was on our 16th wedding anniversary(this had nothing to do with Pueblo Real): A group of drinkers grew louder and louder. Eventually the silliness turned to yells of foul language. To which I had to yell over the din, «There are children over here!» They did immediately yelled back, «We’re sorry!» I remember being single, being silly drunk, and acting like Charlie Sheen in public. It’s all good. Just keep the language on the down low when you take yourself out in public! Thank you!

WAITTIME — ALWAYS if youre prepared & expect it it enhances the experience, maybe eat some peanuts before coming on a friday/saturday evening :) WAITTIMEPAGERS! they do not vibrate, so over all the noise you need to listen to yours closely or watch it(or both) MARGARITA on the rocks, bayybeee! unfortunately we went with the well/house/bottom shelf liquor and about 20mins after we left both our heads were pounding! QUESODIP this is amazing, i actually even liked it more than the fajitas but thats just me :) leftover cheese dip can be taken home in styrofoam cup, SOGOOD the next day! FAJITAS! my husband and i shared one entrée & it was definitely filling! these were yummy — nothing too crazy to write home about… note: does NOT come with shredded cheese?!? CHIPS&SALSA these were really good!!! COMINGBACK you ask? YES!!!

Texas Chimichanga is delicious! The Texas chimichanga is a large chipotle tortilla with shredded chicken, pico de gallo, black beans, shredded cheese, and lettuce. It is served with lettuce, tomato, guacamole and tito sauce. I am always stuffed when I order this but it is so good I have to treat myself to it every now and then. We come here a lot for lunch. I have also had many of the lunch specials and and several menu entrees and have never been disappointed. I love the salsa they bring out with the chips. It is a lot different than other restaurant salsa. The staff is always very friendly and the food comes out quick. They must work very hard in that kitchen because I’ve never waited very long for my food. I haven’t been for dinner yet so I haven’t had the opportunity to sample their margarita. That definitely goes on my to do list.

If you aren’t familiar with The Royal House, aka«Pueblo Real,» you are behind the game. I might be too, considering I toon five years of Spanish and am only partially sure I got that previous translation right. My statement still stands; on a Thursday evening, this place is chaos, with some control. Packed with a 20 – 30 minute wait, just be ready to wait for a table in the evening. Parking is also a bit tricky in the busier hours. Very loud, vibrant, with standard backtracks of flamenco guitar fill the air. A couple standing by me already ordered margaritas while they wait for a table with their kids. I get the impression that, with this image combined with wait staff zooming by without hesitation or break of sweat, these guys are hustling well. It shows. We get our table and chips and drinks and orders are in within ten minutes. Impressive! Chips are nice and warm, salsa is perfect, and queso is good, though a bit too runny; man what a messy table! The menu proves daunting, with many choices and tons of descriptive subtext, but the icon«new» next to an entrée makes the choice for me: the south west quesadilla. It has a chipotle tortilla, cilantro, grilled chicken, and the usual stuff in a quesadilla. It also comes with fries and«special sauce.» Sure, whatever that means! The sauce isn’t terribly special, and the fries are pretty standard. But this is a Mexican restaurant for goodness sakes, how was the dang quesadilla?! I didn’t finish it. It was so big and greasy that I was filled ¾ of the way. Not bad though! Kinda hard to eat because it was so messy, falling apart at every bite. But not bad! It’s not a food style I particularly enjoy, but these guys do it well. Heck, I might tell the waiter it’s my mom’s birthday so they can come over with a dessert and sing some ridiculous song. ;)

If I want Mexican, this is where I go. My husband hates Mexican food but loves pueblo. It’s amazing. The food is so good. Anytime we have family or friends visiting from out of town, we take them here. It’s loud, it’s fun, and they’re always busy. Every waiter we’ve ever had has been super attentive, and happy and always refills our chips up without even having to ask.(that’s a plus in my book) Sometime’s there’s a wait, but it’s well worth it. I always get their enchiladas. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Their salsa is fresh, and the tomato base doesn’t taste like it’s from a can like some Mexican restaurants. The chips always arrive to the table hot. And it’s like 7 – 9 bucks a person. Love it!

This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a very long time. I had the vegetarian no. 7, which included a chili relleno, bean burrito, beans and rice. I could only eat about a quarter of my food, since the plate was overflowing with food. The chili relleno was awesome. The rice and beans were perfectly cooked. Service was good, up until it was time to get our check. It took way too long to find someone to bring our check.
