Jesse couldn’t be more right. They are the absolute worst. Obviously, a post on Unilocal isn’t going to do anything or cause and reaction for change. Until they have reason to change, they will continue to be rude, condescending, irrational A**holes.

This utility company is either very poorly managed or are using their monopoly to maintain a high profit margin. Here are a few examples of their wallet pillaging practices: 1. When I moved to their district in 2011, my water/sewer/trash bill went up 50%, from about $ 70/month with the City of Franklin to $ 100/month or more. I fail to understand how it could cost that much more to deliver the same product within the same county(city limits, even!) 2. When you transfer service, even if you’re a current customer, they charge a $ 100 application fee. I understand the concept of covering the cost of sending someone to both addresses to turn water off or on, but $ 100? 3. If you want to pay anything with a credit card, including the above application fee, they charge you a credit card processing fee. In the case of the transfer, it was $ 4. If they are paying a merchant bank $ 4 to process $ 100, they are being ripped off. Seems to me, they’re being charged about $ 2.75 and pocketing $ 1.25. I know it’s not a huge amount of money, but the principal is disgusting. All that said, the staff are extremely friendly and professional — I have no beef with their customer service. But as a monopoly, it worries me that their prices seem so inflated.
