First of all, let me admit I’m kind of a dork. I will also state before writing this that I enjoyed the movie«Rain Man» as much as anyone, but acting credits aside, K-Mart does not suck. I will also state for the record K-Mart is not Target, and not trying to be. They are what they are, and if you keep that in mind, you can grow to really appreciate this little K-Mart store. I live VERY near here. If you are in a mega hurry and just need an incidental item, you can run in here, find it, check out, and be back home before you can even get to Target, and there are two close to me as well. It’s not fancy. They will not have the latest designer trends, and you will not leave here with a birthday gift for a girlfriend that at the party everyone says«Ooooo, where’d you get that?» In the middle of spring cleaning and need more Tide? Check. Putting together holiday stockings and realize you forget the Hershey bars? Check again. Air freshener, simple hostess gift, toothpaste, birthday gift for the neighbor’s child, all within their realm. When I needed a trifle bowl, I headed here and yep, they had it. Same for an elevated plain glass cake stand for a party. Think you get the picture. Back before everyone seemed to open on Thanksgiving, only K-Mart did that. And when we were smoking the turkey and our lighter ran out, off to K-Mart I went. I tolerate holiday shopping in the bedlum that is Cool Springs mall and I of course make a Target run, but for something a little different and usually super affordable, flip thru the K-Mart circular in the Sunday paper — you might be surprised. And to beat all, if you go to K-Mart to find that Fisher Price riding inch worm that’s on sale in the circular at like 3PM that day… it will still be there. Try that at Toys R Us. Their spring garden section is very nice, and an excellent, easy in and out source for topsoil and the like. I feel in love with the Martha Stewart line here, and while her collections have changed, et al — that time period caused me to saunter through and I gotta say, if you look around, they can have some cute stuff — Martha branded or otherwise. Parking is never a problem, and the aisles are usually not crowded and passable. Are their clerks the friendliest? No, but they are not the worst I’ve encounted in the area, either. Is some of their stuff junk? Sure, but I’d say the same thing a lot of other places, too. I cannot vouch in any way for any of their clothing, having never purchased from those departments. But housewares, toys, cosmetics, household cleaners, and social are all A-OK in my book.

Wow! Stay away. Messy, and very run down. Staff was inattentive and not helpful. I’m really surprised that this place is even still in business with all the other options in Franklin and Cool Springs. You would do better going to one of the other large chain stores nearby.
