A long delayed review. I own a Spyderco Tactical with a VG-​10 steel blade. Broke off the tip trying to save a dying computer (we’ve all been there). Tried to play the hand I dealt myself, but I surrendered. The 5 stars go to whoever sharpened and saved my blade. Let it be known.

Go to Home Depot or one of the big box stores. I went to this true value thinking the customer service would be better. The first visit I was overcharged for mulch they did not have. The 2nd visit the desk clerk actually laughed as I struggled to bring an item in from lawn and garden instead of looking up the SKU. The WORST customer service I have ever seen.

Knowledgable, friendly staff. If you need it they probably have it. As noted by another Unilocaler… the prices and selection can’t match the big box stores but the quality and selection is still outstanding.
I was especially impressed by the wide range of tomatoes and other vegetable and flowering plants. In this particular instance, (today) they beat the big boxes.
Hardware, gardening supplies, lumber, drip irrigation supplies, grills, paint, and so much more. (You need to stop by at Christmas too!)

I’ve always appreciated the customer service I experience at this store. Inventory is more limited than the big hardware stores but most of the time I have found what I need without going anywhere else.

They are friendly and helpful, and I prefer supporting them instead of big box stores. We did have an issue when placing a special order there, in that the employee taking the order lost his notebook he wrote it in and so it was never placed. He did apologize, but didn’t seem overly concerned. It’s close to my house so I will go again but probably won’t make any special orders there again.

I just purchased a DeWalt cordless drill at Harpeth True Value Home Center in Frankin. I appreciate the fact that I did not have to look very far to find a knowledgeable friendly employee to help me decide which one one was right for me. Finding someone to help you, let alone someone competent, is almost always a challenge at the big box stores. Whether you’re looking for tools hardware, building materials, rental equipment, lawn & garden, paint, patio furniture, Glass cutting, grills, screen window repair, or practically anything the chain stores have, you can find it there.

The harpeth true value is likely to have what you need, but is a small enough store to get in and out quickly. You can feel good that it is locally owned and operated. They have a wide deletion of BGE and Weber grills for grill and smoke enthusiasts. And free popcorn. So you feel like you got something extra. I’m not sure what popcorn has to do with a hardware store, but I always get some.
If you need a selection of power tools, you’ll probably still need to hit the big box, but for hardware, lumber, hand tools, and gardening supplies, the true value will have you taken care of quickly and back to your honey do list in a jiffy.
