Passing through saw reviews decided to try it out. Definitely not disappointed. Food was awesome staff very friendly. Chorizos Tacos AMAZING!

This place is seriously our favorite place to eat — EVER.
The staff is amazing — the service (even when extremely busy — on weekends & Cinco de Mayo specifically) is always great. They keep your drinks (and chip basket) full.
The food… the FOOD… is great! My kids usually stick with their staples (cheese quesadilla and the chips/​white sauce) and they are always happy when we go here. My husband is slightly more adventurous and finds something new he likes each time. He does have his favorites tho! I usually stick with my staple too — Steak con crema.
Cannot say enough good things about this place. If you ever have the chance to go here, GO!

This is my husband’s and my favorite Mexican restaurant. We’ve been here many times; the food and service have always been great. Seating and service are always fast and the food is ahead of other restaurants in the area by leaps and bounds. My favorite is the chicken taco salad, but hubby tries something new every time. After two years of patronage, no complaints!
Of course, the chips and salsa are tasty, too.

El Ranchero is the place to go if you are passing down 58. Even if you are craving some mexican and don’t want it to be Taco Bell then might as well drive 30 mins to get into this place. Went back to back days and each time was great. Drinks are reasonable, food is plentiful and if you opt for the guac, they make it right at the table on a little pull cart they pull over table side. Menu is a bit daunting being that it seems like they can cook every mexican/​spanish entrée you can think of. Aside from that cool causal and a great surprise in Franklin!!!

Fast service and their lunch card punches for free lunches are awesome! I love the fact they have dishes with veggies. Zucchini, squash, broccoli, etc. Sure beats the other places that just do peppers and onions.

Very pleasant surprise in Franklin! Maybe the best Mexican food in Virginia. The menu is huge and the food awfully good. Highly recommend eating here if you’re in the area! You won’t be sorry!!!

Oh El Ranchero… how I’ve missed you! It’s been a while since last I came… not by choice mind you! I have been aching to come back for months now, but just haven’t had the time! But yesterday for lunch, ahhh, yesterday for lunch… I had the wonderful pleasure of being in the presence of Mexican greatness once again!
They are on point here! The staff works together to make sure drinks and chips are filled and refilled and that your food comes out as quickly as possible! The food is fresh and delicious, and you just can’t beat their lunch prices coming in at 6.99 and under for the most part. They make sure your happy with your order, and take care of you like your an old beloved friend!
Walking in, the channel is always tuned into soccer, and well if there was only one sport I had to watch for the rest of my life… it would be soccer! So, they score some extra brownie points for that one for sure! I would still score them higher then a five if i could because to me they are a perfect 10! Do I sound a little preferential, maybe, but when you come across a place this great, everything else is just step down… so I can’t help but to brag on them for all they pull off at this eatery!
It’s like «Cheers» when everybody knows your name and what you like, and just treats you like family! The owner of the place is always checking in with his customers as well to see how they are liking everything, and to me that speaks volumes when they actually care about their customers experience at their eatery! And the other day I saw him preparing the fresh table side guacamole for a group, and was impressed that he too is willing to jump in and deliver the best to his customer’s! Walking away feeling more then pleased, and looking forward to the next visit already!

Oh, yum!!! I just moved to Franklin a few months ago with my husband from Virginia Beach to get out of the bustle of the city. It’s great out here but to be honest we are very disappointed in the quality of the restaurants in town having been spoiled by city life. When we walked in we didn’t expect much. We were very pleased however with everything. The white sauce that comes with the chips is delicious, it’s pretty sweet though for those of you who don’t have a sweet tooth. We ordered the fresh guacamole and the girl came to the table and cut open the avocado and lime right there, doesn’t get more fresh than that! For lunch we got the fajita platter for two and it was so delicious! The meat is cooked very well and has a very nice flavor. This is going to be our regular restaurant! Cannot wait to try other items!

El Ranchero is my absolute favorite restaurant in Franklin and Southampton. The dishes are much more creative than typical Mexican restaruants and their execution and presentation are delicious. Also, the staff is always happy and friendly. :)

Unexpectedly pleased with this authentic Mexican restaurant. A must try for anyone! I loved their guacamole best.

This place remembers me every time I come in. Their food is very authentic, not like taco bell crap. The drinks are very afordable and happy hour is great.

Service was alright, food was great.
My husband had ordered a coffee and a water and the waitress didn’t remember his coffee.
The chips that were brought out to the table were nice and warm, seemed to be made fresh there. They came with a salsa, and some sort of queso dip.
With my ‘Special #9′ I chose Mexican rice, instead of beans, which were delicious. Probably some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant.
The beef enchilada we got with our ‘Special #10′ was decent, it came w/​ground beef though-​which I don’t recall being specified on the menu. And the waitress didn’t ask if we wanted ground of shredded, which they usually do-​at other Mexican restaurants at least.
We waited a reasonable amount of time for our food, as there were other people dining as well.
When it came time for the check though-​we had to wait at least 10min.
Overall though, for the prices, and the food. I would definitely return if I lived in the area and I was looking for some non-​fast food Mexican.

They are very accommodating and have excellent customer service. Our family had a nice dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great service, good food, amazing Margaritas! One of the better Meixcan restaurants around. They offer white sauce with chips at no extra cost.

The food is excellent. Service is prompt and friendly. A great value for the money. If you are looking for authentic mexican food this is the place.
