OMG, I finally got there to check it out. Really friendly folks offering every type meat you might imagine and a number you probably never heard of. Among other treats, I bought a bone in ribeye that turned out to be the absolute best ever. Intended to take a pic to post but by the time I managed to put down my fork, the bone was no longer«in» and the ribeye was gone. Can’t wait to go back for more. When you go, look for parking along side Handy Hardware. Enjoy.

Awesome meat market in Franklin — worth the drive from Nashville. I had a South African friend introduce me to the Billtong and Droewors. I consider myself a dried meat connoisseur and this is unlike anything I have ever tasted. If you like jerky, get ready to have your mind blown by meat. The guys and gal that are in the shop are super nice, helpful and offer samples(please, that’s enough of a reason to go, we all love free stuff especially food… like all good fat Americans). I think they mentioned branching out into Nashville, part of me wishes they don’t since I like the commitment you have to make to get these delicious slices of meat, but it must mean business is good. Such a find — great gifts.

What a great place to get your meats and sausages. The owners are so very friendly and knowledgable. They have South African biltong, boerewors, chocolates, etc. If you haven’t tried biltong, you need to treat yourself.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I come from Australia where local butchers are on every corner and it has been one of the things I have missed most about living there. The owners are so friendly, and are really passionate about what they do. Huge variety of meats available and they all taste amazing! If your looking for a great local butcher this is your spot!

Carnivore Market is amazing! My girlfriends and I were visiting from out of town this past weekend and wanted to go on a picnic. We told the clerk of our endeavors and she made us an awesome platter of all the different salamis and some country ham. She clearly labeled all the meats so we knew exactly what we were eating and even put them in the order from mildest to strongest. The prices for delicious charcuterie are very reasonable(for 6 different types of salami and some country ham for 3 our total bill was under $ 20). I highly recommend Carnivore Market!

Awesome place. Nice people. High quality meats and a ton of homemade American and Eastern European style sausages and wieners. I’ve not had anything there yet that was not fantastic. Only thing I can say is that their ground beef(which I’m sure is ground fresh in house) is too lean for burgers. I personally prefer more of an 80⁄20 but some of you more health conscious folk may like it that way. I attempt to try something new each time I visit and yesterday I had the pastrami. OMG it was possibly the best I’ve ever tasted.

Bought the bone in ribeye. It was absolutely one of the best steaks I have ever cooked at home. Highly recommend visiting this place if you want an exceptional piece of meat. Also, tried the Hungarian Salami… Wow!!! It was fantastic! Ended up buying a pound to share at a dinner party and it was such a hit with everyone. Jerky is made right on premise… It is all terrific! Very clean and nice shop. So great to have a first class meat market in downtown Franklin!

So, you think Boar’s Head is a real step up from whatever else is in the Kroger deli. And you are willing to pay extra for the good stuff, you know, the Boar’s Head. They’ve got the cool black truck that brings it in separate from the rest of whatever comes in on a big tractor trailer in the back loading dock. Yep. I was one of you. Until last week. Introduce Carnivore Market to Franklin. A perfect use of a 500 square foot corner spot next to Handy Hardware. The meat case is full of sausages and jerky and other cured and dried meats with international names from Hungary and Mexico and other places. It’s worth a trip just to sample. But wait — here’s the little secret. You think it’s going to be all expensive. But it’s the same price you’ve been paying for Boar’s Head. But wow. wowie wow wow wow. You’ve not had a turkey and ham sammy till you’ve had one with their turkey and ham. The sausage is full of flavor and body. The choices are varied. Take a trip around the charcuterie of the world. Spruce up the smoked meat tray at the Christmas party(no more bland and boring Hormel mystery meat). Watch your jerky dry before you buy. heck, you can even drive a few miles out of Franklin to meet your cow before it ends up here, if you plan ahead… Everything is pretty local. But not just local — it’s got depth of flavor, breadth of ethnic origin, and well, just awesomeness. Franklinites. I implore you. Do.not.let.this.thing.go. We need this.
