Boiler Room Steak House

We have tried the Boiler Room twice… There will not be a third time. The steaks are just ok. Buffet was predictable and kind of bland. It is kind of like a Ryan’s buffet but not as good.

Decent burgers and sandwiches, but only so so for steak. Service is only adequate. No bar either.

I enjoyed eating here. We ate from the bar which had very good country steak and white gravy. Loved the salad bar and I waitress was very nice. The potato soup was really good as well.

I ate here with my kids recently because we’d just been to a show at the performing arts center next door, and I was craving a steak.
Okay, this is definitely not the place to go if you’re craving a good steak. I ordered the New York strip, and what they brought me was similar in quality to a wafer– thin flank steak you might get at Walmart for four dollars a pound. Didn’t look or taste like any New York strip I’ve ever seen.
Probably because it was so thin, it came out medium rather than the rare I asked for. The waitress was very nice about getting me another one, and it was a little thicker and more like medium rare. So it was edible but honestly the quality of the beef was just not what you’d expect from a steak restaurant. Extremely disappointing.
My kids liked their food okay. My oldest got the buffet, and I guess if you want standard buffet food for kids, this is an okay place to go. It wasn’t anything special by any means, but he ate it and was happy enough.
Overall, I’d say if you want a Ryan’s type of buffet, this is an okay place to go. Do not go here hoping for a delicious steak.

On a vacation in GA, a store employee suggested this place to us for lunch. We decided to drive up the road into NC to have a steak lunch with a delicious salad bar.
Our steaks came with one trip to the salad bar and a side item. The salad bar was huge and definitely had a great selection. The only complaint there was that the hardboiled eggs were pretty nasty and my mom had to pick them out of her salad during the meal.
When our steaks arrived, my fiancé’s was way undercooked. He asked for medium and it was definitely rare. We sent it back. It took forever for it to be cooked more, and when it came back it was still under done, as well as tough and chewy. He had to send it back and order a club sandwich. My steak was fine, although it tasted a bit smokey. Must be the way they cook it.
The service wasn’t the greatest. We had to keep telling our server what we ordered since she kept forgetting. In the end, we regretted coming over here for food. I wouldn’t even bother!
Also, a note: Obviously we are in the Bible Belt area, so this didn’t surprise me, but the restaurant played Christian music and only that. I have no issue with it because that’s something I choose to listen to, but it may be an issue for some.

The food was great and the service is excellent. We eat there frequently and it is consistently very good. Danny

We always eat here before attending concerts at The Smoky Mountain Center. The staff has always been friendly and the food «just right»! We also value the «family friendly» atmosphere.

We went for the breakfast buffet on a Saturday. The door said that the restaurant opened at 9 a.m., it was 9:46 and the door was locked. There was an older blonde woman inside and she ran to open the door. She seated us and we ordered our drinks. We went to help ourselves to the buffet after the waitress didn’t come back for 10 minutes and she was without drinks. The food on the buffet looked great but when we got back to our table we found it was cold. The server told us that they were running late opening and the chef forgot to put the steamer table on. Our total was $ 50…FOR BREAKFAST and we didn’t get our drinks until we were finished with our cold pancakes and eggs. When we left, the hostess and our waitress were sitting at a table having coffee and talking. Since we were the only table in the restaurant you would think we could’ve gotten our drinks sooner. Never again!!!

A joke.

Difficult to give more than 1-​star when they failed to bring my dinner. Ordered a simple burger … waited 15 min, 30 min, … 1-​hour, all while everyone else had their food served. Empty place setting should have tipped off server that something was amiss. Oh well, box of crackers made an interesting alternative.

Drove 80 miles out here to find out they are closed on Sundays. This was very disappointing.

I might have said 2 ½ stars for the steak, after all it was steak night. Think they only have the steak dinners Fri & Sat nights. My steak was a little under cooked. Most chefs under cook steak that is why I order med well, to get a little better than med. however this steak was more like med rare.
Yet it was still pretty good. Lots of flavor and a decent size for the price.
Buffet style restaurant with lots of choices and everything we ate was good. Full buffet comes with the steak dinner. Rest of family had the buffet only and no one complained about anything. The coffee was excellent. Desert cobbler did not look appetizing but the apple pie was good.
Service was pretty good and the place was packed due to concert next door.
Good family destination while on vacation. Fun Factory next door so the kids can play for an hour then settle down for dinner.
I would go back.

I’ve been here a few times and their food is good. Atmosphere is nice and service is good.
