Better World Market is the type of place that you feel good shopping there and somehow the name isn’t a cliché. Completely locally sourced and intertwined with Elijah’s Promise(a charity group feeding the homeless. LOCALLY!) It is very difficult to find a charity who is helping the people in our own backyard but that is exactly what this charity and storefront are doing. If you are even thinking about the meal donation… DOIT. $ 2.50 can feed someone right down Rt. 27 at their soup kitchen. As for the produce… YUMMMMMMMM. I had a quart of the very LAST Jersey strawberries and finished it in less than 24 hours. Loved every little bite when I can taste the earth and still see the dirt from the picking! Excellent cucumbers. Cheddar cheese is not for the weak at heart. It was sharp in every bite. As for the prepared foods, I had the cinnamon roll with a large coffee. Coffee was locally roasted at Rojo’s in Lambertville. I enjoyed the cinnamon and the glaze. It was the perfect sweetness level. I took home the spinach and feta empanada. It was quite delicious and made at the Elijas’s Promise culinary school. Seating inside and outside. I plan to return and enjoy their live entertainment as well. Keep an eye on this place. It is awesome!

I was so happy to finally stop in! Where do I start… the market itself is small, not one of the giant veggie markets like on route 1. That was the biggest perk as far as I am concerned. Everything(except the celery and cilantro) is locally grown. They also have local eggs, milk, some meats, cheese, pies, prepared foods and sundry goods like soaps and teas. The prices are extremely reasonable. A huge bunch of kale was $ 1.25! The staff is super helpful and pleasant. They have different vendors in various weekends… today Pat’s jams was there and I bought an amazing carrot ginger jam made right in her kitchen. They also have prepared foods, ice cream, coffee and desserts. They are only open Thursday through Sunday so make sure you make it a weekend stop!!!
