Love this place! Went for happy hour after work today to the Biergarten. It is beautiful inside and out and HUGE! Tons of unique German beers and knowledgeable bartenders who were super helpful to a girl with questionable beer knowledge like myself. Decent prices and tons of seating — we took over a few picnic tables in the back. Some of my friends ordered food and raved about how good it was. I think I missed out on that front! It is a bit hard to find the parking lot so we looped around a few times, but boy was it worth it. We will DEFINITELY be back again(and again and again!).

4 stars for the space and atmosphere. 2 stars for the very average and overpriced food. Come here for the drinks and music. The food, which all feels pre-made, is a pass.

Previously referred to as «that cute german place with the festival» after attending it several years ago(which was a lot if fun I should add); now referred to as «that really good german place that stuffed me with so much schnitzel I didn’t need to eat for 3days.» Seriously though, the beer garden is huge and beautiful with too many TVs to count. The restaurant is teeny but authentic with amazing food and great service. Tip: Make reservations at least a week in advance if you have 5+ in your party because apparently there are only 2 tables able to seat that many Another Tip: try the mini bavarians!

Service was good, beers cold, and food was excellent. I would love to come back here. The main restaurant dining room was full so we sat at a table in the bar area. This was just as good. Menu has a nice selection and I look forward to coming back.

After attending great concerts by local cover bands in both in the spacious outdoor area, as well as the cavernous and attractive Beer Hall in colder weather, I have long had the desire to check out the food in the main dining room of this restaurant. By organizing a holiday dinner there for many members of my family on 12/6, I had the chance to do that… and I’m glad for the opportunity. German restaurants on Long Island have always been a scarce commodity and, unfortunately, are continuing to vanish. I relish the memory of eating great«stick to your ribs» food with family members at long gone places like Kleinfelder’s Forest Inn(Massapequa) and Georgia’s(Lindenhurst). Koenig’s in Floral Park recently closed. Big losses. The main dining room at Plattduetsche Park is strikingly bright. Leave your vampire friends home. Tables are spaced a sufficient distance apart, conversation is possible and it is a good site for large groups. We had a 6:00 p. m reservation and were seated 15 minutes later. No big deal. Service was prompt and efficient but not particularly warm. This is understandable. How would you feel if you, like the young female servers, had to wear a kitschy fraulien outfit and reindeer ears? The food was very good. The complimentary pumpernickel rolls were fresh and tasty, as was my French Onion Soup($ 6.00). I have had the imported Munich Pretzel($ 9.00) in the Beer Hall before. It is huge and delicious! My Bavarian Platter($ 24.00) was very good, with Smoked Pork Chops, Pork Loin and Bratwurst all perfectly cooked, moist and group enjoyed the Sauerbraten, Jaegger Schnitzel, and, especially, the large and smoked Pork Shank. Sides like Creamed Spinach, Mashed Potatoes, Sauerkraut and Red Cabbage were great tasting and fresh, although the portions were a little small. The group enjoyed Apple Strudel and Ice Cream Sundaes, commenting that the Vanilla Ice Cream was particularly good. I recommend Plattduetsche Park Restaurant for its very good German food. I think the Ghosts of German Restaurants Past would too.

The property is very impressive. It’s very large with many different areas and party rooms so I can definitely see the appeal of throwing and event or dinner party here which was precisely the reason for my visit. I attended a children’s birthday party in one of the downstairs party rooms. This place is so big they have an elevator. They had the room set up nicely, it looked very classy. All the staff that I encountered were very friendly. The waiters, valet, and servers were all very accommodating and professional. There was a hot buffet of foods pre-selected by the birthday girl’s parents. They did a good job of making sure it was well rounded with different types of meats and veggies. While I am not a huge beef eater I found the beef Sauerbraten to be the best thing served. I loved the sauce and you could definitely detect a bit of horseradish in the gravy and that’s the way my mom used to make it. The beef was also very tender and broke apart with a gentle nudge from my fork. The spaetzle was very dry and flavorless, they likely had it warming in the pan too long before serving. The lasagna was average but decent. The Miniature chicken cordon bleu balls were tasty. The chicken franchese was nice and creamy but could have used a little flavor boost. I usually eat it at Italian places and they use lots of garlic, salt and lemon. The flavor was much milder here. The salad was also great and had a nice tri-color cherry tomato medley in it. There was also snap peas and mini sausages which looked like bockwurst served but I didn’t try any of those but my family members did and said they were okay. The children received their own food which consisted of chicken fingers and fries. My little one couldn’t finish it so I helped him out with it and found the chicken to be tasty and crispy and the fries were also good. I probably would have ordered this for myself if I visited again. Overall it was definitely a fun experience and a great turnout for the birthday girl. I would definitely like to come back during the warmer months to experience their outdoor biergarten and enjoy some light bar bites.

This place is amazeballs! My besty brought me here for the first time for my pre-birthday dinner and he nailed it! I’m an avid, enthusiastic connoisseur of German food and beer since I’ve been to Munchen(Munich), Germany many times and attended the original Oktoberfest! So yeah, I’m a bit of a German luvin’ snob! Don’t hate :) This place is massive and further enhanced my love for all things beer garden! Unfortunately, the beer garden was closed that night :(We were seated in the main dining area on a Wed evening and with the exception of a large group and one other two-top, we had the place to ourselves. BEER — started with: Hacker-Pschorr Munich Lager — Intense golden yellow in color with full-bodied, mild taste with a spicy finish Spaten Munich Lager — Golden in color and light in body with a sweet, grassy malt profile and a subtle, yet pronounced hop character, this classic German lager is supremely drinkable and enjoyed the world over! Krombacher Pilsner — you enjoy a distinctive, finely bitter taste and a full-flavored aroma — this is a genuine premium pilsner beer brewed with Felsquellwasser(mountain spring water) which quite decisively characterizes the taste of the beer. App: Fried brie & lingonberries — Fingers of brie cheese breaded with almonds & fried, accompanied by seasonal fruit. This was finger lickin’ fried cheese heaven! Mains: (His) Chicken Schnitzel — Breaded, fried chicken cutlet topped with a white mushroom cream sauce (Mine) Rheinischer Sauerbraten — Braised beef in a sweet & tangy gravy served with potato dumplings & red cabbage Mine was great, his was excellent. I took his left-overs home for lunch the next day! Dessert: Apple Strudel *drools* Service was attentive, yet not intrusive. We weren’t rushed out of the dining room even though we were last to leave. Next time, I’ll be sure to check out the beer garden and set-up shop for the entire day! When in Rome… ummm…I mean Munich ;)

Been here twice, and have had a great time during both visits. The first time, I just got food at their little snack shack in the beer garden area, but on my 2nd visit, I dined upstairs on their outdoor terrace. On the way upstairs, I noticed the architecture on the inside of the beer hall is really something to admire– such tall ceilings and it’s just crazy how spacious it is. Loved the outdoor terrace’s vibe, and the waiters/waitresses outfits along with people drinking from beer steins make the German theme authentic. Not to mention the food — oh my goodness, the pretzel sliders with meat and cheese were amaazzzzing. The saltiness from the pretzel gave it a great flavor. The dish comes with 8 sliders — so filling, I had to take a few home(I later danced to the live music with my leftovers in hand– wasn’t letting those go). The fried brie was great as well but I found it a little dry. Our waitress was very funny and accommodating. As for the actual beer garden, it’s huuuuge. Plenty of picnic/wooden tables that are long enough to fit your whole group. There’s a dance floor and on the Friday night we went, the live band played 80’s music that got everybody dancing. Check the events calendar though– they don’t have this all the time so we got lucky on the night we went. Whether you’re looking for a chill place to grab drinks with friends at the bar and grab a snack in the casual snack bar area, or you want to have a sit down dinner, you can find either scene here. Perfect place for a summer night too since it’s mostly outdoors :)

Been a very long time since I was last here. The new Biergarten expansion is huge with multiple floors indoor outdoor seating. Got there just past 5PM on s Saturday and the place was empty but a band was setting up. We were seated all fresco on 2nd deck. Started with 2 tall pints of German beer followed by the delicious and crunchy potato pancakes with apple sauce and lingonberry spreads, yummy. My main course brought me back to my travels of Germany, Champignon rahmachnitzel, an OMG perfectly fried veal cutlet topped with a deep flavorful white mushroom cream sauce. My sides could not be better and authentic, red cabbage and spatzle, I loved loved it. My Wife had the surprisingly good Bockwurst, a white pork & veal sausage served with a tangy hot sweet mustard, sauerkraut and German potato salad, another winner. Service was very good, nice breeze, then we partied while listening to the band 45RPM. Truly a great night, can’t wait to go back

This place is great! It’s so huge! Always a place to sit whether it outside or inside. Great authentic German fare and beers! A little pricey on the beers but everything else about this place trumps that. There really is no bad things I can think of about this place. There’s something going on here every night like last week there was a bacon festival! The workers here are lots of fun too. Good people, bartenders and everyone else who works here. Also a great place to have a few beers, eat good, and watch a game on the numerous tv’s all over this biergarten!

Great place to get some authentic german eats. They have a really good event schedule so there is always something going on. Went to the beer fest hosted there over the weekend which was a lot of fun. I may have pulled something at the strong man booth but I am pretty sure the combination of beer and bratwurst will fix that in no time.

The best, and biggest Biergarten in Long Island. There is a whole community that calls this place home. Many social clubs use the hall to meet, dance, and practice. The hall is host to many events all year round. There are many bars, and things to do. Check the events schedule online to find out what’s going on. The food is good, and authentic. The staff is always friendly and efficient. The place has a happy and fun atmosphere.

We went to the Biergarten. HUGE outside area! Plenty of tables to sit at. They have Giant Connect 4 and Jenga to play. There was an area to play cornhole too. There was a huge bar, a small bar, and a snack shack to get pretzels too.

Party of 3 for Mother’s Day, reservations made a few days prior and we were full aware of special menu. Dinner was in the banquet hall and it was not overly busy but most tables were full. We have been here many times and have eaten in the front restaurant as well as their Beer Garden, which is out of this world. Dinner was very good, no issues with order or with our waitress. Food came out was good, just a little on the cold side, it could have been warmer. Veal cutlet and mashed potatoes kids meal, chicken cutlet with cheese and ham on top with asparagus and some type of pasta and roulatain, which was the best of the 3 meals. Warm apple strudel with ice cream and chocolate moose with coffee. Slight delay with dessert, not sure why it took almost 15 min. The meal was not cheap, but portions are large and everything tasted great.

This is a very good German restaurant! The restaurant is huge and the bier Garten looks nice — will check it out in the future. Service was good! I really enjoyed the kaesespaetzle! I also had the traditional wiener schnitzel and spaetzle with Jäger sauce. My parents has the champignon rahnschnitzel which they enjoyed. We also had the little Bavarian which were little pretzel sliders with sliced brats, swiss cheese and bacon which was delicious! ! My boyfriend had the mad bavarian which was okay. I would focus more on the traditional german food. The apple strudel was excellent! We also tried the baron over the Alps which is vanilla ice cream with cinnamon vodka and oreo crumbs which was too strong to our liking and we didn’t taste the cinnamon. Overall a great experience! Definitely try this place!

Ich liebe dich, Plattduetsche Park! In a time where it seems that«Biergarten’s» are popping up throughout the tri-state, Plattduetsche is an original and a force to be reckoned with. In fact, Plattduetsche is far more than just a biergarten they are a hybrid of restaurant, catering hall and biergarten that more or less form a compound in Franklin Square. If you’re looking for great German food and awesome atmosphere and so much more you have to visit Plattduetsche. The original restaurant in Franklin Square dates back to 1939 but their history is traced back their original organization in Brooklyn in 1883. The original restaurant is a quaint space, modestly decorated and feels more like your Oma’s dining room than it does a restaurant. The newly renovated biergarten in the back of the property is an amazing space with two levels indoors as well as outdoors. Inside you’ll find benches that were imported from Oktoberfest in Munich and tables that were repurposed from the bowling alley that once existed at Plattduetsche. Retractable floor to ceiling glass doors help to blend the inside and outside when the weather permits and rows of outdoor benches are placed under their tree lined patio with lights strung overhead. The food… oh, the food! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and you’re sure to find traditional German dishes as well as new takes on classic options. The Little Bavarian’s are perfect to share; sliced bratwurst with bacon and melted Swiss served on pretzel buns. Their pretzels are imported from Munich and served with an assortment of mustards as well as the optional Obatzda dip. Looking for something more traditional? Stick with Sauerbraten or Jägerschnitzel and you’re sure to be pleased.
