Bevmax is fast and efficient, but beware of ordering online. They do not ask if they can substitute vintage when ordering and then shipped another year. Upon reviewing the receipt, noticed they say vintage substitution Ok in the fine print. For a $ 40 bottle of wine they should be clear.

The customer service is always great. There is always someone there to help me pick out a wine or whiskey for any occasion. The cashiers are super friendly and I am always greeted when I enter and leave. They should get a website so we can order online!

The only spot where I can find my fave — Cantina Gabrielle dolcemente. Really, I’m obsessed about it. I haven’t had any bad incidents here but I do come here in once in a blue moon since I live in Queens.

They just started the 10% check in offer so all the employees may not be up to date with it, just be patient. The offer is also not available for set prices of liquor, like the carlo rossi wine. Be sure to ask about their discount card as well! I went there today and used the Unilocal check-in deal(once you click you have 4 minutes to use it, so do it once you’re about to check out!!) Louise the cashier was super sweet, as well as the gentleman who let her know how to process the Unilocal check-in offer. They’ve got a great selection and my family has been shopping there since they were Hillside Liquors(we also used to own the pasta shop that was across the parking lot from them, miss that place!!)

The store has been renamed to BEVMAX, it is no longer Hillside blahblahblah. I love this store. It’s where I go for all my liquor. They have a member card(you only have to ask and sign up), and it gives great discounts. The staff is friendly and very helpful; after only a few visits, they remembered my face. Considering I don’t drink too often, that’s a great thing.

The selection is okay. The prices are a little high. I really don’t have any need to go in there that often except once in a blue moon to get a bottle of wine for a gift. I simply had to review this place for its apathetic, zombie-like staff. As previous reviewer Vin S. says, no one greets you when you enter. With the exception of one young guy who is sometimes on the floor and isn’t too knowledgeable, but means well, no one offers help. The worst are the cashiers. I’ve had the displeasure of attempting to pay two women, both of whom were clueless. I’m on a mission to end poor customer service on LI, one Unilocal at a time. I absolutely hate when you get to a register and the cashier is doing something gross or otherwise off-putting like chewing gum, sucking on their fingers or, in this case, downing and entire package of fig newton cookies then trying to bag my shiny gift wine with her sticky, crumby fingers. No, no, no.

I dunno. I walked in and the guy at the register didn’t bother to turn around and say«Hello», so I said it to him. Weird. As for the store, it is huge, with way to much empty shelf space. Lots of cheap liquor if that’s your thing. The place had a strange vibe, like that second hand department store where Napoleon Dynamite bought his suit for the dance. Their Scotch selection was pitiful so I made an abrupt about face and split. Went to Pop’s in Long Beach and found exactly what I wanted.

Booze emporium for the connoisseur. I love this place for a variety of reasons — firstly when you walk in, they have this cool automatic gate that swings open– I do a whole«Moses» routine here where I hold my hands above my head and make parting of the red-sea gestures– the gate opens and in I go — ok, so I’m a dufus, but it is fun to watch. The have an excellent wine selection here and almost always run a decent sale on your favorite beverage. Big parking lot outside.
