Great ribs, slaw just right, righteous stew and good sweet tea if they had cold beer, I’d move in. Friendly and helpful wait staff. Almost forgot, stew refills with the plates.

We were passing through Royston and this place had 5 stars out of 12 reviews, so it was a must try for lunch. The outside was clean, inviting, and the parking lot was packed. Once you enter you see a bar where you pay and the menu posted on the wall. The décor was simple and had a country theme. We sat ourselves and a waitress soon came to greet us. The wait service is super duper fast here! The pros– they have awesome sweet tea and give you a pitcher at your table, lightening speed wait service, we’re were in and out within 40 minutes with 2 toddlers. The Cons– the food. The menu is simple with BBQ sandwitchs, ribs, chicken quarters, stew, applesauce, slaw, and Lays Potatoe chips. We both ordered the BBQ sandwiches which was good but, just good average pulled pork and it needed sauce. The bun was just a regular hamburger bun. They offer 2 different sauces– mild and spicy which both tasted good! We were not impressed with the stew and it seemed a bit too watery and more like pureed soup. I like my Brunswick Stew to be a bit thicker like a stew is suppose to be. Also, the slaw looked like it was made in a food processor, it was just not how I prefer my slaw. I gave this place 3 stars because while it was not amazing BBQ it also wasn’t horrible. The menu is simple and limited. They get 5 stars for their service!!! FYI: There are also no child changing stations in the bathrooms; this is a deal breaker for me since I have 2 small children and was forced to change them in the car. I’m not sure I would stop here again but, it’s one of the more appetizing places to eat in Royston.

Best place for BBQ hands down. The baby back ribs are succulent and tender without being saturated with sauce. The coleslaw is some of the best I have ever tasted and my husband orders the quart size container each time. The Brunswick stew is just right. They also serve chicken halves which are moist and seasoned, which all of my kids fight over any extras. If you are going to Royston and would love to try local BBQ this is this place to visit. Forewarning they are only open Thurs through Saturday.

This place is great. The food is delicious! I cleaned my plate, and then the waitress offered me free refill of Brunswick stew! I think I was in heaven. All of the waitresses were very attentive, and made sure I was well taken care of. Their bbq sauce was great as well, I had hot and mild on my table. The place is very clean and spacious, I was taken back by how big it was inside. I will be back for sure, this place gets a 10⁄10 in my book!

Georgia BBQ at it’s best! Of course, no brisket, but we aren’t in Texas, are we? The pulled pork BBQ is smoky, tender, and you get your choice of 2 sauces, on the table. One is mild, and it’s like a Carolina sauce, very vinegary, but lots of flavor. And the hot is a little thicker and sweeter. The ribs were so tender the meat was falling off the bone, and very saucy and sweet. We didn’t try the short ribs, but we will next time. The cole slaw is very good and fresh, the brunswick stew is good, and you get all you want. The plates come with 2 slices of bread. The service was really quite amazing, considering how crowded it was. We got our food within 10 minutes of ordering, may have been more like 5. The drinks remained refilled, and several times waitresses came by and asked if we needed anything. Phenomenal service. I would have like sliced onion with my food, but I’m from Texas. I liked how roomy it felt, even with a massive lunch crowd. It seems very clean too. With my youngest son being a rib connoisseur, we will definitely be back. I’ll have to try the chicken next time.

One of the best bbq places around! Free refills on the stew, and the sauces are to die for. Plus the staff is very friendly!

We love Bar-H! Great BBQ! The Chicken Half and Ribs are super good too! Love the slaw and BBQ sauce. Everyone who works there is Soooooooo Sweet! It’s everything you would expect from a small town BBQ place… you walk in and they make you feel like you’re home and they spoil you with refills of stew! Oh and get there early on Thursdays to get some of that good banana pudding before it gets gone ;)

My mother is a big fan of the chicken so whenever I’m up for eating meat I’ll come with her. While the mainstay is that delicious smoky, tangy chicken, for the longest I had remained a fan of their ribs and pulled pork, often getting the pulled pork plate. Bar H has your staples of slaw, Brunswick stew, white bread, and some Lays chips with sweet tea at every table. The service is fast. Really fast. They might even ask you what you’d like before you even look at the menu it’s so fast. Not to hurry you, but just a possible assumption that you might know what you’d like right then and there. Also, the first place I’ve ever seen with stew refills. Haha. Expect to be greeted with a smile and to seat yourself, but if you’re in more of a rush they also have a drive-thru. :)

I don’t eat meat, but back when I did, I loved the chicken and standard ribs here. My favorite offering, however, is the cole slaw(mayo-based). I have eaten slaw at so many different restaurants and Bar H is by far the best I have ever eaten. In Georgia or any other state. It’s a simple place with a spartan menu. You can expect to order pork barbecue(comes without sauce on it – so you can apply mild or hot sauce at the table), half chicken, ribs, and baby back ribs. Sides for most plates include Brunswick stew(and they give you free refills!) and the perfect cole slaw. Chips and sunbeam loaf bread are also customary. It’s a seat yourself kind of joint, and food comes out quickly. There’s also a super fast drive-thru. Only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am-9pm(or whenever they sell out). It’s family-owned and operated. A favorite of my whole family, and a must whenever we come into town.
