Stopped for lunch, great atmosphere, nice local bar. Had the French dip, which features house smoked beef. It was very good. Fantastic service and great location.

Rainy night in Frankfort… Gracious greeting! Asked for a taste of a couple of wines we were interested in. Very generous! Decided on burgers and fries with our wine selections… EVERYTHINGSUPERB! Burgers were cooked perfectly… what a delight. Seasoned fries were amazing… regular fries delicious too! Thank you Dinghy’s! The wines we selected were both reds… Jail Break, and I think a Louis Martini. Both delicious!

Really, really liked it. Hospitable service, yummy food, nice clientele. Extra points for on-premises proprietor making sure things run smoothly. Great place when you’re sick of schtick and just want some good food and beer. Nice selection of tap beers(some local, some national). Really good servers and hostess. We went for the Friday night fish fry: excellent. I look forward to trying the pulled pork nachos. Here’s a small detail they got right: the baked potato was really, really clean. You don’t see that all the time. It made me think they really care.

My first work here is Bombas. They are shredded cheese stuffed whole jalapeños that are wrapped in a wonton wrapper, fried and seasoned, and they are the best. I am a local and I come here at least once a month. The pulled pork nachos have melted shredded cheese on them which I am weary about but the cover them in bbq pulled pork, jalapeños, green onions, and a siracha sour cream making them my favorite thing to get there. They also offer house smoked pork, chicken, and turkey that is over the top and you can tell is done in house. The staff is friendly and personal as well as inviting. The atmosphere is great for the location with booths that would remind you of being on a boat and sea and ship novelties all over the walls. This place also has a full bar without a tackiness to it that you can get from many bars that add on a dining section. Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere!

The French dip is the kind of sandwich you come back for. It’s that good. Table of 3 and we shared pulled pork nachos, French dip sandwich and and a full slab of ribs. Which was way too much food, but we took home leftovers. The pulled pork nachos had a sweet flavor to it, so if you like that, they are great. The smoked ribs are really delicious! They have a smoker in the back! The French dip is SO good. The bread is perfect for the dip juice. The meat is very tender, the onions are cooked perfectly. The waitstaff was helpful to us newbies.

Great bar food. Service is iffy it is busy. Worth the wait if you want a cold beer and a great burger. Chef salad was outstanding, French Dip was good. Friday fish was very average. When you go, have a couple of Bombas. These are the best jalapeño poppers EVER. Did I say EVER? Yes I did… As far as the service, if they are busy, make sure you order and get everything you need, they may not be back for awhile…

Expensive entrees(walleye dinner $ 20), but sandwiches are pretty affordable and decent($ 10 and below). Clean, warm atmosphere– excellent for eating downtown Frankfort.

Yet another four star spot in the one horse town of Frankfort. This is a true«up north» hangout. Solid, tasty food. Lively bar and and endless supply of very friendly, engaging staff. They must pass out Happy Pills during pre-shift meeting. Everyone here is incredibly nice. But friendly, attentive service only gets you so far unless the kitchen can back it up. And they do! Sandwiches are stellar especially the French Dip and Sandwich of Your Dreams, both of which come on a dynamite sub roll from nearby Crescent Bakery. Be sure to add the sweet potato fries with chili-lime aioli. Yum! The entrees range from house smoked BBQ including a Turkey Leg to your request Michigan fish selections to the Betsie Burrito, which seem to appear at every other table.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. I have NEVER had a bad service here until tonight. My family has been coming here 20+ years and have ALWAYS enjoyed our first night with dinner at this restaurant. Tonight was the end of that.

Went here twice while on vacation in Michigan. The first time was for lunch. The restaurant wasn’t that busy and the service was fantastic. My boyfriend and I both ordered the French Dip which was phenomenal. I highly recommend it with the sweet potato fries and aioli sauce. The second time, we went for dinner and had a completely different experience. It was on a busy Friday night when they have our fish fry. Service and experience definitely went downhill. They advertised sangria in their menu, but our waitress said the bartender was«too lazy» to make it. She did offer an alternative that was similar. My boyfriend ordered the French Dip again while I went ahead for the fish fry. I guess you need to get there early because they were all out of the baked potato when I ordered. I had a baked sweet potato instead and that was pretty good. So I would recommend going for lunch, not dinner.

Nice atmosphere and friendly service. They ran out of ribs, so I had the turkey leg. It was very good. My wife had the BBQ chicken and it was as good as any I have had in Memphis!

Great little dinner spot. We were up in Frankfort on an ice fishing trip. Our guides recommended and it didn’t disappoint. $ 13.99 all you can eat(perch) fish fry. Service was really good and everyone left full.

This place was great! I was visiting my family from out of town and we stopped here for lunch based on Unilocal reviews. The chicken salad with almonds and cherries is so good. I replicated it at home when I got back to CA!

The mozzarella sticks!!! They are made with won ton wraps instead of breading. Heaven. I am one of those people that makes noises(mmmm, ohhh, ahhhh) while I’m eating something delicious and nothing changed while I was dining at Dinghy’s. I also had the BLT, and the bacon was thick and crispy and the bread was prefectly toasted. We had a table of 8 and our server split the bill 4 ways without a single eye roll or complaint. She was awesome! Also, those mozza stix…

Very good pulled pork sandwich, ribs and fish. I was referred to this place and I was not disappointed. Very good service and a good place to hang with the locals in downtown Frankfort. I’ll be back.
