It’s now going to be Double S Smokehouse, run by people who have the Double S Diner. Sad to see it go, their food was amazing.

I had a great meal there a few months ago. They appear to be closed. Hoping they will reopen.

Came to dinner here tonight when our first choice was closed for a private party. What a wonderful mistake. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive. The food — amazing! We started with the shepherds salad, which my 7 year old devoured and asked for more! My husband ordered the liver and declared it the best he’d ever had. The mixed grill and lamb platter were also outstanding. Give it a try — you won’t be disappointed!

I cannot say enough good things about this gem of a restaurant serving our favorite Turkish food. I never expected to find something this delicious so close to home. This is now our first choice for yummy comfort food. We started with a triple appetizer of stuffed grape leaves, eggplant tomato salad and babaganoush. We overdosed on this with their wonderfully light and warm pita bread. For the entrée I had the lamb Hunkar Begendi(known in English as Sultan’s Delight), and my husband had the same only with chicken. Both terrific. My lamb was a little spicier than the chicken. Perfect for both of us. The purée of eggplant underneath the lamb stew is made with cream and cheese. Mouth-watering! Although we were so stuffed afterwards, we forced ourselves to try their classic dessert of baklava. That too was perfect. All in all, a wonderful place. We can’t wait to come back.

Perfect Turkish treat! Start with the hummus and Shepard salad(with cheese is a MUST), the phyllo scrolls are a crisp little accompaniment. Next get a sample of everything with the Grill on 206 platter and finish with the kunife. You’re welcome taste buds… You’re welcome.

We happened upon this fabulous place for lunch today where the food was off the charts and the service out of this world! Very friendly atmosphere both inviting and relaxing. We will definitely be back soon… And they let us know they deliver as well as cater. Highly recommend a must do.

Good turkish food with cheery service. Waitress was a doll. Lentil soup was delicious, falafel was some of the best I’ve had, and baklava melted in your mouth.

A refreshing oasis on Route 206! My wife and I have eaten here a half dozen times over the last few months, and the food and service are consistently excellent. We particularly enjoy the fresh bread, red lentils, and perfectly cooked chicken. We also like the option to bring our own wine. We’re pleased to support this roadside gem in an area that can benefit from more culinary variety.

It is so nice to have a restaurant option around here besides, diner, pub, or Italian. Here you can get Mediterranean/Turkish food. It is not inexpensive but I don’t think it is overpriced. I especially like lamb, so I have lamb kabobs, or other lamb dishes. Many of the dishes are served with rice and bulgar wheat along with a grilled tomato and grilled hot pepper. They also have a wonder chopped salad with tomato, onion, celery, cucumber, and grated feta(no lettuce.). They make nice gyros and have interesting appetizers. I like the liver. They also have interesting Turkish deserts. Looking for something different, try them out. They are up 206, past Yetters, on the right in a wooden cabin, just before the right where you turn for the fair.

I am a HUGE fan of turkish food, and have tried many places from NYC to Colorado. This, is by far one of the best! The hospitality is out of this world, as is the food. You feel like family when eating here. The phyllo scrolls are so delicious and so fresh! The kabobs are seasoned to perfection and juicy. The people are amazing. AND it’s very affordable!!! A green salad, phyllo scrolls, two kabob sammys, and two turkish coffees cost only 40 bucks! Try this place, it’s truly wonderful.

I finally had an opportunity to eat here after driving by it everyday and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, light, and tasty. The friend I met for lunch ate there previously and said it was fantastic every time. It’s not flashy, but service and food trump atmosphere. I would definitely recommend The Grill for lunch, diner, or take out!

Went there for dinner and they REFUSED to serve us because they said they would be closing BUT was serving a Guy who was flirting with the waitress. The owner was RUDE even after I asked if they are serving. I would suggest the«Health Department» stop in.

Surprised to see«Turkish & Mediterranean» as we were driving in to the fairgrounds for the Crawfish Festival, we decided to take a chance on dinner. Outstanding! We shared an appetizer sampler, and then ordered entrees of Chicken Kabobs and Ankara Tava. Both were generous portions and exceptionally fresh. We didn’t think we had room for dessert, but the dinner so far had been so delicious, we didn’t want to miss it. We ordered Rice Pudding and Kunefe. WOW! Service was friendly and attentive, and our servers’ recommendations were spot on. We enjoyed the food so much, we ordered take out the next day to take home to the Jersey shore. We’ll be back at every opportunity.

Since my grandparents were Turkish I grew up around Mediterranean food. This is the real deal. The Shepherds Salad was refreshing and tasty. The mixed grille had all the spices of the region. My favorite indulgent was the Kunafa for dessert. As a kid I use to roast the cheese over the burner on the stove. Love the food. Also important it’s a BYOB restaurant.

This a Turkish themed restaurant and a great choice for something different. The owners both cook and serve so everything is done well. The food is excellent everything is fresh and well prepared. I have had much of the menu at this point and all of it have been exceptional. The gyros are the best I have had this is a must try restaurant.

Pleasantly surprised with this find in literally middle of no where. I’m originally from NYC so living up here has it’s disadvantages as far as a variety of culinary experiences. My falafel dinner was delicious and the lamb dinner over what seem to be mash potatoes(actually an egg plant purée) was outstanding. For dessert, the Kunafa was just perfect, not too sweet, extra crunchy and cheesy. I really hope this place makes it despite its obscure location. But with apps like this, I hope it helps direct people who are looking for something more than just a burger in the area.

This was some of the freshest tasting food I’ve ever been served! My husband and I shared a small Shepherd’s salad that was huge. It was amazingly fresh and I would have been satisfied with just that. The bread was perfectly warm. The meat in both our dishes was extremely tender and flavorful. We are local residents and it’s unusual to find many authentic restaurants in our rural county but as someone else stated in a review, The Grill on 206 is comparable to a NYC restaurant and more affordable. It’s a quiet place, and while some may think it doesn’t have a lot of atmosphere, as long as there isn’t a big TV screen playing sports, I’m fine with that. It’s really perfect for date, a family dinner — any occasion. Larissa, the owner was a most gracious hostess, and our server, Caley(?) was friendly and efficient. My only mistake was not saving room for dessert but now I know for next time!

So I’ve had take-out 2x and ate at the restaurant 1x. If I had given a rating after the first take out order, it would have been 4 stars. The food was delicious and plentiful. AND… They delivered which is AMAZING for this area. I wouldn’t have given 5 stars because even though it’s good and plentiful, I think the entrees are just a bit too expensive. If I had given a rating after the 2nd take out it would have dropped to 3 stars. And now, after we ate in the restaurant, I’ve had to drop it to a 2 star rating. Here’s why I’m going with 2 stars(based on our eat-in experience)… Atmosphere: OK& pretty simple. Service: The hostess(possibly owner) was very friendly. Our server was also nice, but clearly not very experienced and a little awkward. Food came out fast and was paced well. Food: We had a delicious appetizer, but when our meals came out I was a bit disappointed. I had ordered the doner platter & my husband a sampler and when my meal came out it was just meat, a very small amount of white rice, a ½ grilled tomato. After a few minutes our waitress came out with my hot grilled pepper and explained that it had been omitted from my plate. All of the food I was given was tasty, but I was disappointed because I had expected it to be served with bulgar, lettuce and onion as it had been when I ordered take out previously. I felt that what I was served was not worth the $ 14 or $ 15 I was spending on it. I asked our server if they had changed their menu since I didn’t have bulgar and she said no, that it should have bulgar, but that they had run out. So yeah, I don’t really find that acceptable on a Friday at 7:30pm… to just leave out a major side portion without an explanation/price adjustment/etc. We opted to share a dessert and went with the baklava. It was very good, but very small… only 3 bite size pieces for around $ 5. It was also ice cold and would have been better warmed a little bit. Other: The menu has many typos(pet peeve). Overall: I’m super excited that Sussex County finally has an option other than pizza/chinese, but I’m not happy with how inconsistent I have found this place to be. Additionally, I think this restaurant is overpriced considering the inconsistency in plating, lack of well trained servers, menu typos, etc. I’m hoping all of this is just them working out the kinks and I do hope that the restaurant stays and is successful, but I’m afraid that if they don’t fix some major issues, it will be a short lived treat to have this type of food in our area.

I wanted to give it 4 ½, ugh when will Unilocal allow for half scores!!! I have to say this area of NJ is really lacking in quality gourmet food and/or ethnic options and The Grill on 206 just opened up and we finally tried it last night and it was So good! The food was so fresh! We has the babaganoush and falafel to start and we gobbled it up, then came our mains, whole sea bass and the turkish meatballs, again we couldn’t put our forks down! The BYOB was the icing on the cake! The décor could use a better concept and the huge white refrigerator with desserts needs to go as it looks dirty and is in the middle of the dining room! Service was attentive but food came out rather slow! Welcome to Sussex, Grill on 206, I hope you are here to stay! **I went a second time a few weeks back and am removing a star as a result. My Mom got the gyro and it was those prepackaged strips of gyro meat, not the spiral cooked, authentic kind you would expect at a place like this! Get the real gyro meat on a rotating slow cooker! That fake crap is unacceptable!!!
