My boyfriend and I visited Fenwick Wine Cellars on a whim during a trip to Ocean City this past weekend. I’m no wine snob, or even a wine connoisseur for that matter, but I do drink a lot of wine! I must say this was the best wine tasting I’ve ever had. Katie Duke was very attentive attentive and extremely knowledgeable. She gave us a history of wine making in general and the beginnings of Fenwick specifically. She also recommended great pairings. My only regret was that we visited in the off season and were unable to try the slushies. We’ll make sure to return for a taste! If you see Fenwick at a wine/food festival, run, don’t walk, to their booth. All in all, great experience and highly recommended!

My friends and I had the best time here. There were sooo many wines for us to sample, probably the most I ever had at a tasting. There was a very nice variety of whites, blushes, reds and fruit juices. The employee serving us was very attentive and helpful. Along with the tasting we also ordered a cheese plate. The cheeses are delicious. My favorite was the buffalo chicken and onion. The highlight of the tasting came right at the end when we got to sample one of their wine slushes. I had the white wine sangria, it was one of the best things I have ever tasted… so much so I had to get a glass of it on its own. If im ever in the area again I would stop by just for another white wine slush.

This place has no understanding of customer service or responsible tasting practices. We arrived and were the only customers in the business. When asked how we found out about them, we informed them we were wine lovers from Arizona and were doing the wine trail in Delaware. We were told tastings are $ 10 and we could try any or all of the wines on the list. My husband was driving so we always share a tasting so he can be sober and responsible on our trips. The employee poured us a Chardonnay and informed us it was aged for 5 years on oak(I highly doubt that). She then went to the back and another employee came to the front, turned over the tasting sheet and informed us there were no shared tastings. The original employee returned and I said we should be allowed to share as that was what we had agreed to when we started. She apologized stating she was new. I again requested the original shared cost and she said he could try 3 and I could try 4. With that — we left. This place is not customer friendly nor a responsible wine tasting entity. Don’t waste your time going here. P. s. the Chardonnay was horrible. 7÷12÷15 — In response to Katie C’s comments — let me clarify. 1 — we didn’t review the website prior to visiting the establishment and when the tasting menu was placed in front of us the policy for no shared tastings was not pointed out. 2 — The employee who assisted us clearly did not know the policy. I don’t know how to delineate«promptly» for the employee notifying the manager — but she had already poured my first tasting and had pulled out all of the other bottles for the tasting — so in my judgement, I wouldn’t call it «promptly.» 3 — the policy wasn’t even on the page with the wines to be tasted, when the manager pointed it out to me, she had to flip the tasting menu over to show me. If this is your policy — you may want to ensure that customers are informed they should fully read both the front AND back of your tasting menu before making a determination about tasting. 4 — it doesn’t cost any more to share a tasting — we didn’t ask for a larger pour — it’s still the same amount of wine. Also — I never stated in my review that my husband was offered to taste wines for free. The employee stated he could also taste 2 or 3 wines(and still drive safely). My assumption was that there was a charge for this as well — again training was extremely poor. In the end, I’ve tasted wines at over 275 establishments — I enjoy wine and enjoy supporting local wine makers and their stores across the country. This was the first time ever in any of my wine tastings that I have walked out in the middle of a tasting and complained publicly about the wineries policies and practices. In the end, customer service is poorly lacking at this facility. I wish you well and hope for the sake of other consumers that your training program improves immensely.

Love this place! Friendly(and knowledgeable!) staff that really makes you feel at home. Great wine selection and even a few local snacks to pair with. Definitely worth stopping for — it’s a gem!(I even bought a bottle of wine to take home — which is unusual for me!) Thanks, Fenwick Wine Cellars!

My husband and I stopped here during our vacation in Ocean City. A very nice and comfortable tasting room. Manager Katie and Cheryl were fun, very knowledgeable and helpful. They have some very good wine selections. The $ 5 tasting charge is well worth it as you can taste as many as you like including the Ice and Port. Finished by a bloody mary made with wine! Delish! Highly recommended for a fun hour or two.

Katie is amazing. She knows a lot about wine. The green apple icee is amazing along with the sangria. For $ 5 it is worth it.

Fenwick Wine Cellars is right across the street from our beach house rental and we always recommend to our guests that they visit Katie and her crew. Wonderful tasting wines and stellar customer service. Stay at HERONSVIEW and you stroll across and taste for yourself!

This place was a cute little shop for a budding Winery in Southern Delaware. No, the wine isn’t produced there… yet. But it will be. The grapes here aren’t quite mature enough to make wine since they were only planted a few years ago. To the person who said«read the fine print;» perhaps you should have spoken to someone in the shop because they were very upfront about the origins of the wine. I enjoyed quite a few of the bottles that I tried and was impressed with the staff and their overall knowledge of the product, company, wine pairings, etc. I am looking forward to visiting the location once the full winery is up and running.

My fiancé and I had a great time tasting all of the wines! The woman that was working knew a lot about the wines and what to pair them with — very informative! She also let us know about upcoming events!

If you are in the Fenwick Island/Ocean City, MD area, be sure to include a stop at Fenwick Wine Cellars. They have a nice variety of wines and events throughout the year. The staff is very knowledgeable and enjoy sharing pairing ideas or just hang out and chat. Oh, and on the hot summer days ask about the frozen wine chillers!

super sweet wine that is way overpriced. also, read the fine print. if you think you’re getting a wine that is produced in fenwick you are wrong! this wine is grown and bottled in NorthEast Pennyslvania. $ 18 for a sickly sweet bottle of NEPA wine… don’t think so…
