This restaurant should be removed from Unilocal pages… I plan on emailing Unilocal directly. When I finally located TJ’s at 818 Waverly St., it was a very run-down and dirty establishment with no parking… you have to pullover on a very busy street and hope your car doesn’t get hit. If I hadn’t ordered ahead for takeout, I would have kept on driving. After spending ten minutes waiting for one of the two people in the place to address me, I told one that I had called ahead for pickup and the old gentlemen informed me he didn’t work there. I used the time to find the Unilocal coupon for«free can of soda and chips» when buying a sub via the Unilocal page. Unfortunately, along with a sub, I purchased a small rotisserie chicken and two pounds of pasta primavera(…all fairly mediocre.) When I showed the coupon to the manager, he said he had never seen one of these and would have to call his father, the owner. «Dad» claims he never had anything to do with Unilocal… only deals with Facebook… and would not honor the coupon. Keep your soda and chips Pops — use the extra money for some roach spray — TJ’s(Unfriendly) Neighborhood Market needs some.

Okay, so it does look like it is a whole in the wall. I have driven by it a million times and never gave it a second look. But a friend recommended that we get our sausages and meatballs there for our cookout. They were fantastic. Has some of the greatest italian meats that I have had anywhere!

The only thing I’ve had there was their turkey sandwich. Four stars because they use Boars Head, sliced nice and thin on a nice fresh sub roll. I wish they used a bit more meat, but they are very inexpensive, so I think the price is fair for how much meat there is. I miss Rt 9 Convenience, which was such a random place to get a sandwich, but they really knew how to make them.

TJ’s has excellent cold cuts, meat, porchetta and their rotisserie chickens are outstanding. A great place to pick up lunch or dinner that isn’t fast food. Their prices are very reasonable too. I’m a huge fan of Scott’s cole slaw. I wouldn’t put anything else on my pulled pork. The owners, Scott & Nancy are terrific people who work hard to make TJ’s the success it is.

This place is the best! They have the most value priced subs I have ever seen made with the freshest ingredients, I have never been let down here. They also have amazing pre-cooked chickens and porchetta that my family drives down from Maine for! Also the finest in boar’s head cold cuts! Don’t be fooled this is the best Italian deli/shop sub in Metro West!

Love Nancy and her delightful husband! This place is super clean, the meat is very high quality, and the price is right. We use them for deli meat and grilling meat, and I’ll also occasionally pick up a rotisserie chicken here too. Combine this place with Framingham Bakery and the new produce market in Trolley Square, and you won’t have to hit any supermarkets and more and will actually save money.

You look up mom & pop in the dictionary, and the husband and wife duo that run TJ’s will have a picture in there. Their son even lives in the apartment above the store. Unfortunately I don’t remember their names but they were friendly, almost to a fault. I stopped in weekly for my cold cuts. They were always really high quality, and delicious. I never had to even ask to have them sliced thin. They also did some butchering, and their New York Strip was one of the freshest and most delicous that I’ve had. They make their own sausage, and some soups and meatballs. Prices on cold cuts and meats were very reasonable. Some of the packaged goods were a little pricey, but hey, this is a specialty store. In an effort to be authentic, they wrap cold cuts in paper. This is my only complaint; if I’d forget to put them in a ziplock bag, they’d get dried out pretty quickly. I’m pretty sure they cater too! Next time I’m in town, I’m surely going to stop in to say hello.
