Black Diamond Antique & Collectibles Co-Op

This antique store is located in an old anchor store of a mall. The mall is dying so I suggest if you’re coming here, grab a coffee and a snack first before coming to look through everything. The store is divided into two sections.
One side is an immediate buy section, divided up into stalls-​each seller has their own stall, but sales are handled in the front registers. You can have them call the seller to negotiate a lower price. Most of the prices are higher than they really should be-​seems as though people don’t want to part with the items, or they want the same prices you would pay for them in major metro areas.
The other side is a silent auction/​bid house, setup by type of goods (toys, furniture, tools, home goods, etc.). Each item is associated with a bid sheet, located next to the item. You write your buyer number (given to you by the associates at the center counter) and a bid on the sheet-​giving a higher number than the previous person. At the end of the month there is an in person auction on each item starting at the highest number from the sheet. You’re notified by email if you win and told when to pick up the item. The goods are then swapped out for new items. This side is where you can get much better prices-​especially if you show up to the in person auction.
The staff is very nice and helpful. There are tons of items on both sides, so expect to be here a while.

Very interesting shopping experience. Store has been around for a number of years in various locations of the Schuylkill Mall with its current location being half of the former Steve & Barry’s and the other half being occupied by Blum’s Bid Board.
You can never be sure what you’re going to find when entering including toys, trading cards, glasses, antique furniture, to arcade machines. Decent amount of books, records, DVD/​VHS/​Blu-​Ray, and video games can also be found.
Individual booths vary per seller, some are extremely crowded, but overall the whole store is clean and organized. You can easily lose an hour in this store searching in all the booths for deals. Worth a stop!
