Mr Beefy’s

I have been going to Mr. Beefy’ since I was a child. Their hot dogs are great and so are their cheeseburgers. It’s nice to have a little hot dog joint around where you can still get fries a dog and a pop for 5 bucks. After all these years, many of the workers still know me and are so friendly, it feels like home.

I’ve tried the gyro melt, fries, beef, burger, chili dog and fried perch plate so far and everything has been top notch. A great joint!

My favorite place to go when I’m in the area. Gyro melt is the best comfort food around. Quick service, not atmosphere but who cares when the food is this good. My daughter loves their hot dogs and my son loves the hamburgers. A

Best damn gyros around! Great chicago hot dogs cheap too! Dine in and enjoy the view of the fox river grove castle (but don’t drive by the castle, in my opinion the owners are jags and may hassle you for looking at their house)

I have been going here ever sense I was born. I’m from Dallas my grandmother lives in Barrington hills. I always get 2 burgers and 2 orders of fries. I love it so much. I’m up here and my dad took me and I told him the only reason why I agreed to go w u is because of mr. beefy’s. I love it so much and it is always good. Inside is your average greasy spoon but food and staff make the difference. People seem to enjoy working here. They are very friendly. I was on a chicken sandwich kick for a while and every time I walked in they would say «want a nice juicy breast today.» Cracked me up! I love love the Gyro melt. Have tried them other places and nothing compared to Mr. Beefys.

Some of the best hot dogs I’ve ever had. You can’t beat the $ 1.17 dogs or the cheese fries. The Gyros are pretty darn good as well. If you get a chance, stop in and get yourself some food at this little gem. I’m in there at least twice a week. Best place in the area. I will be coming back again.

OK, I visited this place a number of years ago (probably a decade ago) and had an Italian Beef there. It was not very good. The place was also kind of a pit.
Well, the place is still a pit, but going with a «local’s» recommendation, I tried hot dogs and fries there, and I’ll tell you they were good and so was the value for the meal. I opted for two dogs, both with mustard, relish and onions along with an order of fries. They carry «Red Hot Chicago» brand hot dogs and use poppy seed buns. Both were great and the fries were nice and fresh as well. Did take out and I was in and out of there pretty quickly.
But what impressed me most was the price — $ 4.37. One of the best food deals I’ve come across in awhile.

We stopped in to eat at Mr. Beefy’s this weekend while visiting the area. The hot dogs were «super yummy» according to my 3-​year-​old and my 9-​month old gobbled the grilled cheese like it was the last thing he would ever eat. I really enjoyed the chili dog, even if I had to eat it with a fork and knife. Definitely a place I will visit again. Great family atmosphere and quick, yummy food.

I’ll never forget the first time I tried this place. It’s down the street from my job. I got the hog dog special with fries. I was impressed, not only by the food tasting so good, but how fast the service was. Once you place your order, they cook and prep your food fast. So far, I’ve only tried the hot dogs and burgers, but I’m sure the other items are good as well.
There is one small thing I should point out: they have a take home menu for when you want to call in a order. I should mention that the prices on the take home menu and the prices on the menu inside the restaurant are different, but not by a lot.
I recommend this place as a quick stop for hungry people

Hands down the best gyros in the area. They blow Chubby’s (Algonquin) and Kojak’s (Cary) out of the water. I haven’t tried anything besides the gyro plate — but if you’re in the mood for classic American fare like dogs, burgers, fries etc, definitely hit this place up. The service is fast and the prices are fair. Make sure to bring cash. Mr. Beefy’s doesn’t accept credit cards. They do have an ATM if you forget, though.

Beefys is the best hot joint in Cary, FRG and Barrington. Super cheap, huge portions make it a force to be reckoned with. Gyros right off the spit and tasty Vienna Chicago dogs are my go to items but they nail everything they do. Everybody loves Beefys.

Always good, coming here for 11 years! Gyro is a must!!! Old school place and I love it that way, owners son is a dick oh well people don’t have soft skin … Cooks are great and been here forever. Cash only but they have ATM …

Cheesy beef is good, so are the fries. The beef was moist and fair with the mozz, order extra cheese if you like a lot though. The bread was also spot on, not sure if it was Turano but it was very good.
The gyros plate was good, some of the meat was a little well done but tasty. The gyros sauce is great, and the pita was perfect. The portions are generous and the value was good. Would have four stars had it been a little cleaner inside. But still worth the price and the time to try. I would recommend.

Food is good. Prices are pretty reasonable. Décor needs updating. Now let’s talk about customer service. This is why they get 1 star. The male cashiers make eye contacts with female customer’s breasts and keep them there. Makes for a very uncomfortable visit. The smile and wink doesn’t help either. It’s not taken as flattery either. It’s disgusting. Perhaps, a course on sexual harassment would be in order especially for Mr. Fernandez. Gross.

My friend brought me here for the first time. Its a small grease trap hole in the wall you’d never see unless you knew to look for it. Stopped in for lunch on a friday, the line was out the door for the hour we were there. The poor small kitchen busting ass to fill all orders. A small wait, yes, but much worth the reward 7 minutes later. Their gooey melted cheese turning everything Into a delight on my cheese dog with poppyseed bun and fries. And to top the dining experience off I ordered a ham and cheese sammich, grilled of course. Though as I watch the MASSIVE plate fulls of Gyros pass by every few moments, it was hard to not regret my decision. But the sandwhich was excellent as was everything else. I believe if you still have cheese left on your plate after you finish your fries, it was well worth the venture. The sandwhich used slices cheese and ham and was perfectly melted and crunchy. I honestly have no compaints for this hidden jem. Even the prices were fantastic. I wish id gotten a picture. My cheese dog was $ 1.60. Cheese fries under $ 2. And my sandwhich I think $ 3.50. Nothing is over $ 5.

Don’t go here. Below average ingredients, chewy bun. Place was just plain disgusting. Guy I work with got a burger and said it was miserable… if at all possible, stick to eating white dog turds out of people’s yards before going here.

The GYROS are Excellent, They finally raised the price of the Most Excellent Chicago Style HOT DOG. From $ 0.99. To $ 1.17 still the best deal around. Most of the prices haven’t changed in years. Lots of food at a reasonable price. Busy place at Lunch time .
