Just a top notch, couldn’t-be-much-better dive (in the most positive sense). A decades old throw back to the biker bars of days gone by. My wife & I have a great time at lunch (I tried and thoroughly enjoyed the Mega Mary «overloaded to the max» bloody mary which is a meal in itself!) Loud and noisy, indoor and (weather permitting) out door eating & drinking. Lots of bikers (all were decked out in bandanas & leather, all very polite, all having a great time). Don’t be put off by the old, old building, small gravel parking lot and the over all worn-​down appearance. Go on in — have fun. I’m sure you’ll be back — I know I will!

We love the Route 12 Bar & Grill Thursday night burgers! They have a great craft beer selection, and even a phone app with details on the brews. The burgers are awesome, and the best part is when the cook comes out and hand delivers them.

If your looking for the best bloody Mary in fox lake you must come here, just don’t eat before you do as the meal on top will satisfy any appetite. If you stay for a second the will gladly give you a to go container for your lunch.

4 Stars for the drinks and the BBQ sauce.
Come for the $ 12 Bloody Marys or $ 10 Mimosas on Saturday and Sunday. The BBQ on the chicken wing is fantastic, so I’d come back to try those. Attentive service (on Mothers Day).
BTW, drop the expectations on the the décor /​crowd /​atmosphere. It is a huge mix and this isn’t what you are here for. The drink/​meal will fill you up!

First off God Bless the Fox River! My time of roaming since the mid 80’s from Twin Lakes & Wilmot WI down to Millington, IL, if you stay along the river you’ll find a good spot.
Once a month I «Go North» to visit my favorite stylist and I have never stopped at Rt 12 B & G before but turns out a GF from my past has returned and tends bar… time to stop and say hello!!!
This bar & grill has been through a lot of hands, even had a fire and had been shuttered for awhile. Arriving here at the end of lunch it has quite the crowd! All I saw was burgers and for $ 2 why not! It was delicious. The bar is know for these Mega Bloody Mary’s and maybe one day I’ll try one.
Another great thing I saw was grandparents, suits and bikers all hanging for lunch. To pull in here is a little tricky, slow down at the curve near the bridge… spring is on it’s way, this is Harley country «watch for bikes, share the road!»

Great food and the mega mary is spectacular. Service is unbelievably slow and disjointed. Had to hunt down the waitress each time I needed anything and it took forever to get served. Great place to go if you have a seriously long amount of time on your hands.

This little unassuming place does burgers and wings right! They recently expanded the menu to include dry-​rubbed wings and chicken sandwiches. Great beer selection and delicious hand-​pattied burgers.

Being a bartender for most of my life I don’t understand how the one they had on Sunday night is still employed there. The place wasn’t even busy and we had to wait 15 min for her to even acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and she never mentioned that there was an up charge for a «tall» drink without additional alcohol. We had burgers and I wasn’t impressed at all. bottom line with a 67.00 bill I guess I expected a lot better service, drinks as well as food. I’ll will NOT ever go back again.

This is my favorite place to visit in Fox Lake. I love what craft beers they have on tap. There is always something different to try. Plus, their mimosas are amazing!!! As far as the food, their spicy tater tots are their take on spicy buffalo wings. I am craving them right now as I write this… The owners are great people and know how to run their business. Love this place!

Went to dinner here. The bartender Lisa is very nice she’s my favorite! My date and I both ordered burgers I did a build your own burger. It was cooked perfectly and he had the black and blue burger he also loved it but even better our their mimosas! They’re made with apple cider and flavored peach schnapps. Tastes amazing! So good

The food is awesome. I just had a nice New York strip cooked perfectly! What nice place. Next time I’m trying their famous burgers. Owners were both here and they were both very nice. It might be a biker bar mostly but the food owners and people were awesome. Support this place.

Best Bloody Mary, blues and bar owners in the world. The crowd is a mix of bikers and everyone else. Comfortable and relaxed bar scene.
Oh, and let’s not forget the delicious chicken wings and fired duck strips … Fantastic.

this place is a great day for a Sunday Funday. The bloody marys are filled with goodies 50 cent wings and $ 2 domestic drafts I’m in love! it is a small place but the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Found this place on Unilocal to begin with, they said that this place had a good burger. DAMN is it AMAZING! Tried the Bacon and Bleu Burger is soooo great! Best Burgers hands down I have ever had. Also tried a burger with black and brown onion rings, with bacon, and american cheese… you have to go here if you are looking for a great burger. Mouth watering. Delicious.
Also had the duck strips… I would say much better than chicken strips, full of flavor.
Also had the tacos, 75 cent tacos when we went and they were even really good!
OVERALL you want a burger just… go to Route 12 bar & grill.
