Have they moved? I loved their breakfast burritos! The best on a Saturday morning after a long Friday night out! Haha no but really super inexpensive and delicious! I need to find a new burrito place now

When I think of places like Anita’s(fast food restaurants) I think of fast food… go figure. If you’re thinking you can pop by Anita’s to pick up a quick bite or swing through the drive thru, think again. Their service is on the slow side but the quality is alright. Their $ 7.00 salad is enormous and it was one of my go-tos for lunch if I’m not in a time crunch. I’m sad to see that it’s moving away. This plaza holds a lot of empty locations as it is.

They are amazing but sad to say they shut down and are moving to Hesperia. Saddest day of my life. Been going here since I was 6

After 27 years at this location, Anita’s will be closing its doors after tomorrow(per the staff and sign posted at the register). Loved this place for quick, inexpensive and tasty breakfast on the weekends. Anita’s we will miss you.

Anita’s is way better than the 3 stars that other reviewers are giving here. Granted, it’s a divey little short-order place and those are never anything that special, but Anita’s is hands-down my favorite of that kind of restaurant in this area. If you’re looking for a quick, cheap, tasty breakfast this is the place to go. I agree, it’s a little run-down inside and maybe the tables aren’t always the cleanest and staff can be a little surly, but the food is damn fine, they have an extensive menu, and it is CHHHEEEAAAAP. This is the kind of place I like to go on a lazy Saturday morning or when you’re getting ready to start out on a road-trip. This is artery-clogging American diner breakfast at its finest. Now, I’m super-picky about my country cream gravy and Anita’s has some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s just the right amount of starch, pepper, and ham/sausage chunks. This is probably why I almost always order their chicken fried steak or their biscuits and gravy. Now, I’m not a lumberjack, but I’m a short, fat, girl with a hollow leg, so I can easily put one of their breakfast plates away – for others of fainter heart, you’re going to have a hard time. The chicken fried steak plate, for a mere $ 5.99, includes a huge, gravy smothered chicken fried steak, a mound of hash browns, 3 eggs, and 2 slices of toast. Burp. They easily have about 15 different breakfast plates all along these lines, the most expensive ones being in the $ 5.99-$ 6.99 range. How is this«expensive» for fast food? Shoot, you know you’re dropping $ 7 on a combo meal at McDonald’s, and frankly, McDonald’s sucks – big time. Besides this, Anita’s offers a wide range of other treats from burgers to chicken fingers to gyros to burritos… whatever. Hot Off the Grill only fantasizes about how to be this good. There is no «magic» to food like this – there is a lot of grease and a lot of simple ingredients and that’s where your happiness lies. Get breakfast during the regular hours of the day, too. And maybe pair it with an orange whip or an horchata(that’s what I would do… drinks are self-serve, too, so no cheaping out in that department!) I’ve never had the pleasure of trying the drive-thru(since people drive like maniacs in this plaza and it’s always a little dicey trying to squeeze into that narrow lane) but I can believe it’s probably slow since the staff behind the counter is always a bit slow. However, we know my feelings about customer service and«speed of service” – if I get my food and get it reasonably competently, I’m happy. I tend not to lose too much sleep over if my food came out fast enough or not. In any case, Anita’s is worth a try – it is my go-to spot and if I’m going to gain weight anywhere for breakfast, this is easily one of my top choices.

So not impressed. I’ve come there before and they never seem particularly interested or speedy with their service but today was the peak of disappointment. I went to get a late lunch at around 2:00PM. The drive through was empty as was most of the parking lot. As I sat in front of the speaker I said«I’d like a steak sandwich, lettuce and tomato only with a small Sprite.» The girl couldn’t seem to hear me because she asked me if I wanted anything to drink. I repeated my drink order and said I did not want fries. Fries and Sprite seem to get mixed up a lot at drive throughs and I didn’t want her to charge me for food I wouldn’t eat. She asked me to pull up to the window and asked me if Sierra Mist was alright. I said it was fine. She then asked if I had said lettuce and tomato only and I confirmed. She then asked«You wanted the patty melt, right?» I corrected her and said the steak sandwich and she charged me for the order. Then began the waiting game. I know these little mom and pop stops have a bit more of a wait time and usually I don’t mind. But as I sat the girl who had taken my order stood at the window and flirted with one of the guys who also works at the place. I don’t normally mind but it seemed that she wasn’t really paying attention to anything including the lady who pulled up behind me to make her order. When I finally got my food and drink I rushed back to my office since it was a busy day. On opening the bag I discovered that I had been given fries and that the sandwich was smothered in mayonaise, even though I had specifically asked for lettuce and tomato only AND the girl at the window had confirmed it. Finally I went to take a drink from my Sierra Mist, again confirmed by the girl at the window, only to find out I’d been given Coke. I know a job at a fast food restaurant isn’t anybody’s dream job — but it certainly isn’t much of a challenge either. All that is required is that you pay enough attention to get the order right. Overall I am entirely unimpressed. I won’t be coming back again. What a waste of money and time.

Only reason im giving it two stars is because they had horchata! So I ordered the bacon cheeseburger special and egh wasnt as good as pete G had stated in a previous review! Bacon was really dry and patty wasnt juicy at all!!! But at least the tomatoes were nice and fresh! The fries were good but you can tell half of them were old and half of them were fresh(some were nice and crispy while others were soggy and dry) Not going here ever again even though its across the st from my job ill stick to el pollo loco next door(: Great service though everyone was very nice

Ive been coming here for years for a cheap decent breakfast… the bonus is, is they have a drive through! So on my way to work I’ll stop by here on occasion and order the biscuits and gracy breakfast… comes with 3 eggs, a crap load of home fries/hashbrowns and 2 biscuits and gravy for like 4.99. You cant go wrong with this and its really good for«fast food» breakfast. Much better than eating McDonalds same old breakfast junk!

I stopped by here since it’s right across my work place. Ordered the Chicken Tostada and there was soo much juice, it ended up being a bad thing. It was so messy, I got food all over my work clothes. The only reason why i decided to even try this place was because I always saw coworkers in the hospital bringing back food from there and looked pretty good. I haven’t returned back and probably won’t ever. AND to make it worse, this place sent me to the restroom a bajillion times! GROSS I know

Mmm, Mmm! Bacon Cheeseburger Special just $ 6.99 and delicious! This is my favorite Char-Broiled burger joint in Fountain Valley. The girl at the Drive Thru was very nice, smiled a lot and gave me little yellow peppers too! I’ll have heartburn tonight, but she was so nice that I ate them! Ouch!

Okay, I always go to Anita’s when I go home because it has a lot of memories for me. I’ve been going there since I was 5, so over 20 years. It is when the then new owners took it over. The best thing about this place is the chili cheese fries. I know that’s weird since it has Mexican food and gyros but if you order chili cheese fries I promise you… it will be good and a ton! The hot pepper bar thing is good too! When I go home, I always have a cheeseburger(which is pretty darn big) and some chili cheese fries. My sister always gets the Mexican food. I don’t know why because it isn’t especially good but I guess it is habit. I have had their breakfast and it’s pretty darn good! :) I love this place because it has memories for me, and you can get a decent burger but remember… the CHILICHEESEFRIES are goooooooood!

Nothing too special about Anita’s. They have all the standard American diner fare(burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, fish & chips) along with gyros and Mexican food. I’ve never tried their breakfast, but their burgers are pretty good. They use Thousand Island dressing a la In-N-Out, but In-N-Out is still way better and not as expensive. I’ve made the mistake of getting the tuna melt two times here and have been disappointed each time. Frozen french fries, but they taste alright. My friend got a taquito combo last time. He said the beans and rice they give you are gross. They looked pretty unappetizing from what I saw. At least they have unlimited refills on drinks. They have horchata, jamaica and orange bang to along with the standard sodas.

ordered up here yesterday for the first time since the FVRH cafeteria was killing me. Noticed that they have some good 2.99 breakfast specials which perked interested but never got a chance to try it. Ordered the cheeseburger combo with fries and a drink for around $ 6 – 7. The service was fast and friendly. The fries and burger was nice n greasy(which I like). The patties are really thin and this one was undercooked which didn’t bother me. Like many other burger shops, they use the thousand island secret sauce on their burgers. Honestly, if you want a better burger go over to Georges on the corner of Talbert and Euclid. Anita’s could use some major remodeling. It has the olé Pink and Blue décor that the Fountain Valley hospital across the street had at one point. I’d come back for the following reasons: 1. I admire smaller mom-n-pop joints for their uniqueness, character, personalized service. 2. Good prices on the breakfast and lunch specials. 3. Its close to where I live. 4. Next to Mile Square park so if you’ve been jogging and feel validated to stuff yourself again, its close proximity. If you want to eat healthy, steer clear. :)

This is a pretty typical burger place. They have a really good chicken salad, it’s pretty huge though(about 2 meals). Burgers are basic. They do have a tasty breakfast menu: breakfast sandwich includes eggs and bacon on sourdough bread, breakfast burrito is basically hash browns, eggs, chesse and what ever meat you want. I use to work at the Stater Bros which is in the shopping center, so it was good as long as I didn’t eat there too much.

I was surprised to see the less than 3 stars on here for Anita’s. I found this place once by being way too early for a doctor’s appointment across the street. I was like, «I’ll get something to eat.» I don’t really care for their pancakes, they tasted a little greasy, but if you like greasy hotcakes you’ll be a fan… my husband loved them! He’s from the south and I guess that’s how they do «flap jacks» down there. Before going vegetarian, I ate a club sandwich here, and wasn’t a huge fan, because they had put processed cheese in the club. I always thought club sandwiches were 3 meats, lettuce, tomato on toasted bread. I could be wrong, either way I’m not big into processed cheese. I prefer deli cheese. Tonight, they had a great deal for 4 hamburgers, 4 fries and 4 drinks, for about $ 18.95(if I’m not mistaken). I ordered it asking to put a slice of cheese on 3 of the burgers, and the woman at the counter said, «You can’t add cheese on the burgers, that’s not what the special is,» I tried to rationalize that in my head and then I said, «Can’t I just pay the difference to toss a slice of cheese on the burgers?» She talked in Spanish to the cook and he’d said in Spanish YES, and it wasn’t a problem. I’m guessing she’s new as she was getting advice from co-workers(not just on my order). So, I got the meals for my family, and I ordered a Rice, Bean and Cheese burrito for myself with a medium sized Horchata. It’s hard to find Horchata around here. I’m not Latino, but growing up with a Mexican babysitter, this was the staple drink in the household… and it was definitely a treat! I thought the burrito was pretty good, and I was full by the time I got halfway down it. It broke open, spilling the contents, but I was beyond full by then. It came with a side of chips. Note to vegetarians: they have a garden burger, veggie omelette(for the lacto/ovo-veggies), salads, and the bean/cheese/rice burrito. They have enough on their menu, that it’s all trial and error or hit-n-miss on whether you’ll like something or not. It seems my family likes a variety of their foods(my sons like their chicken strips, my husband likes their steak and eggs breakfast, my daughter likes their cheese burgers, and I have a new liking for their bean, cheese, rice burrito). I secretly am in love with their Horchata machine though… we have this private little relationship going whenever I make a stop into Anita’s. I posted pictures.

3 ½ Stars . Similar to most family owned burger joints . It isn’t the cleanest place I’ve ever eaten at, but the food makes up for it. PLUS they have orange bang so that wins me over right there. yummmmmmmmmmm I got the Bason Cheeseburger Combo and the burger was huge and delish. plus the fries were amazing . Don’t get turned off by the mediocre exterior and not so fancy interior, it’s worth trying.

I sometimes wonder if I’m getting soft with my reviews, since I mostly dole out 4’s and 5’s. This place really really missed the mark to get a 2. I’m not giving them a 1 since there isn’t a huge reason to avoid them, like roaches crawling through the place. I got a patty melt here and the meat was pretty small for the size of the bread. The bread was soaked through with grease(or toasted with a lot of butter or oil). I feel like the food is a little pricey for what you get, but I let that slide since this is a mom and pop shop. I figure any mom and pop casual food place will deal in lower volume and require more profit per dish. The menu of this place has a lot of items, but they all look like truck-stop food. The food isn’t terrible and it gets the job done, but there was nothing memorable. If the owners happen to read this, I’d recommend simplifying the menu a little and leave only the dishes that are polished. There could very well be some gems on the existing menu, but that patty melt just wasn’t one of them.

I’ve never been inside Anita’s. My morning visits have only been through the slow drive-thru(compared to fast food joints). And I’ve never had anything BUT the breakfast burrito… …wait a sec, I had the breakfast sandwich once but I erased it from my memory, then recovered it, now it’s erased again. Anywho, back to the burrito… big olé honkin’ thing! I will only let myself eat half so I don’t feel like a giant porker. They stuff a large flour tortilla with eggs, cheese, hashbrowns and your choice of meat(chorizo – my fave, bacon, sausage, ham). Listen, the breakfast burrito is NOT as fool-proof as everyone thinks it is! I’ve had some f’d up, nasty ones… and Anita’s is sooo not one of them!

One of those places that nothing stood out. It’s across the street from mile square park and in the Stater Bros plaza. The avocado burger and chili cheese fries are decent.
