This used to be Alerto’s, they are open all the time and deliver cheap and greasy filling food. Nothing special, no frills, but the al pastor is pretty good as are their salsas. Service is nice, food comes out quickly and portions are fair. Nothing worth going out the your way for, but we had a descent late night dinner here.

Came here a few times in the past and had mediocre food. Hadn’t been in awhile, so I decided to give it a try again and guess what? Mediocre food. The chorizo torta featured overcooked eggs, a burnt roll and hardly any chorizo. Totally flavorless. I won’t be back. The bottled water was excellent, though.

Alertos recently changed their name to Sabrosada. Their name is not the only thing that’s changed. They are now cheap with all of their portion, sides, and condiments. I bought a chimichanga. Normally, it comes with shredded lettuce and this is what i got. What’s the point in even giving me lettuce? This used to be one of my favorite places but now it’s just whatever.

Came in today to get my usual order which was messed up. The girl at the drive thru didn’t take it down right but that’s not my biggest complaint… In addition with my order I get extra bean and cheese burritos but today they just didn’t taste the same. The beans don’t taste like the ones before. I hope they didn’t change them because that was what made them so good. Please note that if you guys changed the beans it’s gonna hurt your sales. I understand you changed the name but don’t change the product you are selling.

Really disappointed the guy with the beard in the drivethru is still working here. I almost left when I saw him. Hands down the most miserable person to deal with. No hello, no thank you. He’s just rude. Clearly unhappy here. I eat here 3 – 4 times a wk and can’t understand why he still works here. Fortunately he doesn’t work everyday. The food is still the same as Alertos and legit. Please coach and train your terrible ppl too. 3 stars because the food is great but the service inconsistent.

Saw the reviews and thought I was in for something special, NOT! The place was clean inside and out. Got excited that someone had set high standards. The menu board is digital and the center display roles through photos of items on the menu. Spotted one of my favorites Chili Verde. The picture on the display looked great, so I placed an order and service was quick. UNFORTUNATELY what I received was DISAPPOINTING. The Chili Verde was mainly old potatoes and the avocado was mash. EXTREMELYSAD. They FAILED to live up to expectations.

One of my favorite local late night joints! They recently changed their name but it’s still the same great restaurant. I love the combination of great food, low price and great service here. Their shredded beef is seasoned to perfection and I love the cucumber salsa!

April 25th, 2016 at 1:16pm I ordered a taco and couple more meals with drink. A young male Latino with clean super white shirt had bad customer service. He doesn’t smile, he forgot to give my green sauce that I request 3 times. After 3 mins waiting I believe the was his manager with beige shirt came in and apologized me. Food is good but they need better service.

Came in, was ignored for several minutes, left. Be careful, this place is actually Alerto’s, just with a new name. Alerto’s is terrible. Under quality, and over charging. Might come back. Probably not.

Rolled tacos with guac and bean and cheese burritos are good. I love the tamarindo, pina and Jamaica waters. They are always made perfectly. I didn’t want to write all of this, but was asked why I only gave 2 stars if Lucia is so wonderful. So, here it goes. I gave only 2 stars because my husband and I frequent this place and the only time I have had a good experience is when Lucia is working. One incident that will forever stand out I my mind is that we were charged and paid for the wrong order. Because you don’t get the itemized receipt until after you pay, we didn’t notice the amount was incorrect. When we brought this to the woman’s attention she acted like it was our fault. She didn’t want to give us the correct change due, which was a measly .12 cents. When my husband told her he wanted his change she continued to refuse. She then started acting like she didn’t understand English, so he started speaking to her in Spanish. Then she walked away and left us at the window for several minutes. A middle aged man then came to assist and we told him what was going on and we wanted to speak to a manager. We were told there wasn’t a manager and to get our change we would need to come back in two days when the manager would be on duty. Another incident when I was on my lunch with 2 girlfriends visiting from out of state and we chose to dine-in. I went to the counter and said to her, «when you have a moment, found I get some napkins?» She ignored me for several minutes and I asked again. There was only one person who had just ordered at the counter and was waiting for his food. She finally gave me napkins, but only one per person. I asked for a couple more and she rolled her eyes at me and had a huge attitude. Another time I ordered chicken tacos and there were more bones in my taco than chicken. It took me several months before I returned there and now I only get the bean and cheese burrito or taquitos with guac and cheese. But if I ever get bones in my taquitos… I’ll never get meat here and stick to the meatless options. This is why I gave only 2 stars, yet raved about Lucia. She deserved praise for her service, but the establishment as a whole is usually poor.

Have mixed feelings about this place, but ultimately have come to a conclusion this place isn’t that great, even when it was previous known as Alertos. It’s decent. You get more food & better cheaper prices at tons of mexican places around the area. Bonus points for being one of the very few mexican places open super late at night with a drive thru. 2am on Sunday-Thurs and 4am on Fridays and Saturdays. 1. Vegetarian burrito 1⁄5 — Very bland, not much flavor to it, could’ve added in more types of different veggies. I can make a way better veggie burrito at home. 2. Breakfast burrito 0⁄5 — Decent tasting but had very hard potatoes. It wasn’t soft enough, not steamed or heated enough to be barely edible. Very harsh on the teeth, hard to chew and break down 3. 4 rolled tacos combination plate 0⁄5 — When i opened the box, surprised to find out how LITTLE portions they give you for overcharging $ 7.65(tax included), almost $ 8 for this?!? Straight up rip off. The box was light, like there wasn’t much food included. It came with 4 skinny rolled meat hard tacos, a scoop of guacamole with shredded cheese, and a very tiny scoop of rice & beans. When it comes to the rice, beans, and guac they need to double the portions and add two or three more rolled tacos for that to make the near $ 8 pricetag justified. These taco rolls or taquiros alone are around .25 when you buy a big pack at Costco. Everybody knows you can go elsewhere and spend around $ 4-$ 6 for a meal, get MORE food, and actually be full. A more reasonable price for this plate would be $ 5.50 in my opinion. Very disappointed. 4. Carne asada burrito & chicken burrito 4⁄5 — Super meaty and filling. Reasonable prices, most are in the $ 5 – 6 range. 5. Carna asada fries — 4⁄5 — Half order literally feeds two people easily, portions are big. Or save the rest for leftovers! Very popular item on the menu.

They’re open late but only have drive through after a certain time in the AM. I believe it’s 2 am. They workers are nice and they let us come inside to place our orders. The food is alright and the price are reasonable. I’m assuming most of their money is made late night when people are drunk. They even let my drunk ass friend assist in taking people’s orders. Good people.

Not sure why this listing has no reviews. Sabrosada is the new name of this Mexican restaurant on Brookhurst that was formerly known as Alertos. All of the recent reviews for this spot seem to be under the old restaurant listing. The announcement on Facebook of the name change was made last May, so perhaps it is an issue of rebranding. It takes money to change signage, menus, etc. with the new name. For the record, I didn’t visit the restaurant so can’t comment on the ambiance. From the pictures online, it looks like a fast food sort of place rather than a sit-down establishment. I have been working in the OC all week and my family brought home food from Sabrosada for my work lunch. I tried the fish burrito($ 5.59) which is reasonably priced and sizable. The burrito was lukewarm by the time I tried it, but it still tasted good. It was like eating a Filet-O-Fish burrito sort of as it was filled with a creamy sauce alongside the veggies. There were a couple sauces in the bag and I tried the salsa verde. If you are looking for a mild salsa, this would be a good choice since it isn’t too spicy. Enjoyed my burrito from Sabrosada. Living in the Seattle area, the Mexican food isn’t as good as in SoCal. So it is nice when I have the opportunity to eat some in California, even if it is deemed average by locals. My taste buds thought otherwise as I liked my meal from here.

My go-to is the carne asada burrito — its the size of my forearm! For less than $ 6, you get a giant burrito stuffed with meat, guacamole, and pico de gallo. I love that there is no rice — it’s not so heavy and makes you feel a tad less guilty. The meal is so hearty and tasty — always satisfies my meaty burrito cravings ;) I do not recommend the shrimp quesadilla — it’s totally greasy and super salty. A mi no me gusta; stick with the carne asada :)

Too expensive. Parking is out back and you have to walk thru the drive thru to get inside, and if you have to use the restroom u walk thru the drive thru cars-no kidding. On a good note the women at the front counter are genuinely nice & friendly & happy and you must experience the cucumber salsa. Not really a place to return to multiple times. Good once tho’.

Food is fast, affordable, large portions and just down right delicious here! I’ve had a good variety of menu items like fish burritos, mini tacos, carne asada fries/nachos, breakfasts, desserts and my beloved California Burrito! Not quite as good back home in San Diego but everything else on the menu is on point! There’s even a drive thru, and they open late. Definitely give this place a try. It’ll be worth the 4 miles you have to run at Mile Square Park after you’ve eaten here lol: D

Craving Carne Asada fries or a California Burrito at 2something AM when most places are closed? This is the place to go! Either through the drive thru or if everyone is too lazy or intoxicated to drive, through postmates. They load up the burritos with A LOT of meat and the fries with all the toppings possible. This place definitely does not skimp out — more bang for your buck. Pro Tip: Get the picked carrots and jalapenos on the side. I personally do not like the beans in the carne asada fries, so if you don’t either — ask for no beans!

Hungry in the AM? The PM? The late night/early morning? Well come to Alertos for a delicious order of a carne asada burrito or my fav, carne asada fries full order and HOLDTHEMBEANS! Been coming here for the past 10 years(or maybe more but let’s stick with 10) and the food always meets my expectations as well as hitting the spot which says a lot cause I got a black hole as my tummy. Coming here for late night snacks especially after working out, work, or drinking is bomb! Don’t forget to ask for extra hot sauce and pico de gallo to top off your order. The only downsides of this location is that the indoor seating is not too accommodating during rush hours and that the drive thru is poorly designed and has cars stretching out all the way by KFC. Also, they started accepting credit cards so they’re no longer cash only if you purchase over $ 5!
