Ok I really hate giving someone a bad review only because I know how hard it is to run a business especially an agriculture business, with that being said my husband and me did not like the wine selection at all. We had just come from another winery that had some pretty amazing wines and here we were so disappointed. The gentleman was very knowledgeable however the wine just was not good.

Great winery! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and even though it was busy, very attentive. The wines are wonderful. I found a white and red to buy and liked all of the wines I tried. The best part is the tasting is free. Pours were spot on, enough to really taste the wine and I didn’t feel slighted at all. Will definitely be back!

I will preface this review saying that I was was there on a Saturday morning during a private event. I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who was working, but I believe he was a manager. He did a great job explaining the 4 wines that we tasted. I felt bad that he was working alone with 30 of us there. But, he did a great job serving us. His brother came later to help and was very pleasant also. When our main part was done, they allowed us to try anything we wanted. Because of that, I found a wine I liked and made that purchase. During our visit, other people tried coming in even though the sign on the door clearly said they were closed. He handled that very well. However, I’m sure they said that he was rude because they weren’t able to stay. They returned when we were done. Very nice place. I do recommend it. I didn’t even know this place was there.

An unfortunately unpleasant establishment. We decided to check out this place over Labor Day weekend while roaming the area and enjoying a very lazy few days away from the city. I think local wineries are(usually) filled with fun people who are always proud of their creations. That’s not the case with Seven Hawks. Although it wasn’t busy when we arrived, the woman who served our tastings appeared harried, annoyed, and downright unfriendly. Technically, I guess she gave us a taste of each wine we requested, but she really took the term«tasting» to the extreme and barely poured enough to cover all of my taste buds. She gave no description of any of the wines, pushed us through as quickly as was humanly possible(presumably to get to the next customer… wait, that can’t be right – the place was empty), and didn’t bother to eek out a word of thanks. If you’re looking for a local winery, don’t waste your time at Seven Hawks. Instead, check out Danzinger Winery in Alma, WI. I stopped by Danzinger the day before Seven Hawks, and had a great time – wonderful people, spectacular view, and fun wine.
